I don't often give a 5 star review because I subscribe to the belief that perfection doesn't exist, and while this TV is not "perfect" it's as close as you can get. It's the best looking TV I've ever seen, the included wall mount was done extremely well, and I am thoroughly pleased with it in every regard.
I was actually looking at getting the 48" CX or C1 when a friend showed me the G1 OLEDs, and while I normally want to buy the latest model to not start out already outdated on whatever tech it is I am buying, I couldn't quite bring myself to pay that much for a TV. I then saw that the GX OLEDs were on clearance and that I could get the same flush mount gallery OLED as the G1 with barely older tech in it for the same price as the 48" CX, and I was super intrigued.
After I did a quick check at rtings and saw that they rate the GX almost identically to the CX, and knowing the C1 was barely an upgrade the decision was easy.
I don't normally spend this much on TVs, in fact I've never spent over a grand on one, I have wanted an OLED for a while and decided my next TV would be one and as for the price, whatever. It is what it is you can always make more money.
This TV is worth every cent. It looks outstanding when mounted. The picture quality will blow you away, if you've not seen OLED in person brace yourself.
The included wall mount I was slightly hesitant about, but was pleasantly surprised to see how well it was done. I would rate it as good as the best Vesa mounts I've used if not better, and very easy to install for the most part. It sits kind of high on the back of the TV and not dead center, so measuring to make it fit perfectly was slightly interesting but in the end no problem.
The only thing I would say to be careful on is the weight. A TV this thin you might think it would be light like other TVs out there but it is quite heavy. It was probably nearing the limit of what you should hang on your own if you're the type to do your own work like I am. If you have some help there's no issue.

Incredible TV. The perfectly flush design is truly stunning and the clean esthetic is such a step above traditionally mounted TVs.
As always, LG OLED shines in terms of image quality. Once you go OLED, you can't go back to anything else as the deep blacks and vibrant colors are such a step above traditional LED panels.
Make sure to plan ahead in terms of the install. I needed to install a recessed box into my wall to hide some components to get the TV to sit perfectly flush with the wall. Make sure to look online for a recessed box without flange because most boxes have a thick edge that would prevent the TV from sitting flush. If you take the time to properly install this as it was meant to be installed, it is a truly amazing TV and I cannot recommend it enough. If you dont want to go to the effort to mount it perfectly flush, I would recommend the less expensive C1 OLED model as the main drawn here is the gallery wall mounting.
Highly recommend!

Let me start out by saying that I don’t spend this kind of money on electronics, I normally feel the lower end will suffice for me or whatever most expensive TV I’ve bought is around $500…this tv I got open box for $1250 then got the 5 year warranty, this time I wanted 120hz to take full advantage of the series X and when I went to the store, the quality disparity on the sub $1000 but still $800+ 120hz 4K LED TVs compared to the OLEDs was shocking. The only panel that even looked remotely decent next to the OLED was the Sony X90J but was still $1299, Samsung LEDs just looked pixelated in a way you couldn’t find with oleds and Samsung had some models MORE expensive than I bought this for…
Picture quality is amazing been playing Valhalla , we watched Luca (amazing) and all the modes just switch seamlessly. Goes to game when you’re gaming, switches to a content oriented mode when on any app playing videos .
The AI features are also … awesome? Surprisingly like the audio enhancer, our old TV wasn’t against a wall neither is this one but the difference in sound produced is literally amazing… I can hear anywhere in my viewing distance perfectly below 30 volume , my old tv I’d have trouble hearing maxed out. (2017 43” 7000 series Samsung 4K)
All in all if you plan to have a TV over 5 years and already going to spend $900-$1300+ & need to secure 120hz , just get an oled , there’s no point in spending that much to not get the best experience for your money. This and the CX are only $1500 rn new and open box is even better.
Only quarrel I did specifically ask the guy to ensure I got a TV with a stand but luckily in my living room our entertainment center sits along an open stud and made it easy to mount, I’d just never done it myself before but it was quite easy. Some people are saying they didn’t like the stand but I loved it, nice and easy and it was literally my first time ever hanging one.
Ended up working out anyways and I’m glad I got one that hangs & I also now know what GALLERY means!

WOW! Seriously, W-O-W! Let me explain.
[ENTERTAINMENT USE]
I am a bit of a TV enthusiasts, if you will. I am extremely picky, yet not a brand snob. I have owned LG (pre-OLED), Sony, Samsung, Vizio, etc. I currently have Samsung Q80R QLED, Q70, and Q60 throughout the house. I decided to try this TV for my office (since thats where I work and game). QLED was impressive when I purchased it, now I cannot even look at it. I think it will be making it’s way out the door in favor of the 77” version of this guy. I originally wanted the CX, but due to stock issues couldn’t land one. When I went to check for the CX, there were no OLED’s in stock in a 250mi radius. The rep said let me check just for giggles. He said, I can’t believe it, we have ONE. It’s OLED and 55” like you want -only difference is model. It was more expensive, but, I got upgraded internals and a few other bells and whistles. After mounting it, hooking up the Series X and PS5, and cranking it for the first time.... ZOMG.... STUNNING. I just wanted to throw all kinds of content at it, just to see it in action. You will NOT be disappointed. [END HERE IF YOU ARE NOT A GAMER]
[GAMING]
I have been playing on a monitor since 2013. TV tech then wasn’t what it is today. I had such an advantage using 1-5ms monitors, albeit capped at 60Hz. Anytime I tried playing a shooter on a TV during this time, I would get wrecked. It didn’t feel natural. Fast forward - I am in awe. This is like playing on a 27” monitor in terms of response/refresh. If you have a next gen system this is the TV you want. It packs HDMI 2.1, 4K @ 120Hz, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, G-Sync (FreeSync coming in an update this year), and many more! It feels buttery smooth when I play on it. I have zero issues on FPS online now. I enjoy gaming on this beast and being able to relax after work and not stare at monitors when I don’t have to. Being in IT and working from home, I needed some separation of the two.
Bottom line: no matter what your use case is, you will NOT be disappointed!

Just got my new TV delivered and installed by Best Buy. I’m completely floored by the picture quality. The flush mount on the wall is so nice and streamlined. I couldn’t be happier! This is my 2nd LG OLED TV purchase and I cannot recommend this television enough.

This is my first OLED, and by far the best TV I ever owned. Love that it has 4 HDMI 2.1! Love that it has included flush mount! Love that you can pair Bluetooth speakers for a full surround sound experience! Picture quality/VRR and 1ms gaming response time make this TV a great pair with the Xbox Series X!

Wow, the picture quality is amazing. I'm using the tv stand legs as I don't want to mount it. Only draw back is you have to spend another $100 for the tv stand legs.
One issue I had, I have verzion's new boxes that are 4k, but in order to get 4k you have to turn off the Ultra HD deep color option, and then you won't get the Amd Freesync premium function.
then you get 4k (3840 X 2160) 59hz in the input from version and same to my main output on the receiver, at color space YCbCR 420 24bit.
Not sure why this is? on my 65 lg 2018 model I have ultra hd deep color on and still get 4k. Maybe this is cause its a newer model. I don't know. but its not that big of a deal. At least I know what to do.

I had a LG OLED C8 before this. Purchased the new GX for the living room and moved the C8 into a loft. The picture is not light-years better than the C8. I love the GX for two reasons - it supports ATMOS with the Sonos Arc. And when paired with the recessed wall mount - the TV sits on the wall. Super slim. Looks great!

Still slightly more than I wanted to spend, but my 15 year old plasma was as sharp as it use to be for movies and games. I could see the picture quality improve right away when I started the PS4. I did my research between QLED and OLED and could see the difference between the same streaming on the LG vs the Samsung in another room. (Both the same size and price range).
The bloatware is mildly annoying and will have to walk thru LG's FAQ's for how to disable/remove it.
I was strongly urged to get a soundbar since the TV is so thin, the speakers are token add-ins. Upon setting the TV up, I was getting decent sound, but it's on an entertainment stand away from a wall. If this was flush mounted, I could definitely understand the need for a soundbar. I got one anyway. The small IR sensor for the remote at the bottom of the TV makes mounting soundbar flush mounting impossible: you need a 1/2" gap between them.
Old plasma TV put off a lot of heat. I can tell this one is using considerably less energy

The LG GX 55 ‘inch has been on my radar for awhile. Wanted the best OLED 4K tv to take advantage of everything possible for my new Xbox Series X console.
This tv comes with a flush wall mount to the wall. I used my existing wall mount until I move in a year. Every HDMI port I like 99% of tv’s is 4K 2.1 120hz ports.
It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, 4K, variable refresh rate, & many more.
I’m upgrading from a Sony A1E OLED 4K 55 ‘inch that in less than 2 and a half years got burn ins. Unfortunately with OLED tv’s you have to babysit them and make sure you’re not watching channels with stilled images that don’t move such as cable news channels & sports.
I didn’t have Geek Squad protection on it so I have it to a relative. I cannot recommend enough to purchase a plan with Best Buy. They cover burn ins. No one else does. I purchased a 5 year plan with Best Buy. Certainly gives me peace of mind.
The Series X performance on this LG GX is incredible!

Simply stunning picture! In my opinion, this is the biggest improvement in picture quality and depth since HD was introduced! Love the flat mount (although think ahead of time how you will hide the cables) and for a flat screen it actually has decent sound (but for a picture so good, it deserves to be hooked up to decent audio).

An absolutely stunning television

Let me start my review by saying, this is my first OLED TV, and I’m regretting not getting an OLED earlier. The picture is exceptionally stunning. The LG GX series combines perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and a beautiful gallery-style design that sits flush against the wall to give you a perfect watching experience.
The biggest and best feature of this television is the beautiful picture. With self-lighting OLED pixels, you dark scenes in movies like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 4K Dolby Vision on Disney+ look fantastic as the creators imagined. My past 4K TVs have been LCD and I was often frustrated by the noticeable backlights that would halo content on the screen. With OLED, that problem is gone.
The operating system of the television is very fast and easy to use. I love the magic remote that lets me easily type and select content with a flick of my wrist. It feels like a wand from Harry Potter, or a way better Wii remote. Every single app I wanted to use was included, from Netflix, to Disney+, to Hulu and YouTube TV. The only missing apps were HBO Go, HBO Now, and HBO Max. This is disappointing, as when you press the search button on the remote, it suggests “Turn to HBO” right on the screen. However, because the TV supports Apple Airplay, I could easily open the HBO app on my iPad and send it to the TV. Hoping LG can add HBO in the future as a native app.
The gallery-style design of the 2020 GX series is the stand-out feature. This TV is meant to be mounted on the wall by professionals. In fact, it does not even include a stand. While you could buy a stand on eBay that LG sells in certain markets for the GX series, I do not recommend it. If you want the exact same TV and do not plan to mount it on the wall, buy the CX series instead for less money. If you have the right spot on the wall, buy the GX. It is so thin that my friends and family were in awe of how sleek it looks when mounted. It is not as thin as, say, the LG Wallpaper TV, but that’s because the Wallpaper TV had a required soundbar and wire to run down to the box. The LG GX is all-in-one. Now one caveat here is that OLED panel can experience burn-in if you are not careful. I do not recommend leaving this TV on like the Samsung Frame with artwork (even though LG includes an art gallery mode). There are features built-in to avoid burn-in, which made me feel better. And yes, you can fit a Chromecast behind the TV and still have it sit flush if you want to have Cast built in.
To get the best picture, I recommend playing around in the deep picture settings menus and turning off things that mention Frame Rate or Motion to avoid the Soap Opera Effect. You can also switch to the included Filmmaker Mode to do this automatically, but note that Filmmaker Mode lowers the brightness of the screen, so you won’t get the most impactful picture. I also recommend turning off the Power Saving Mode as this limits the maximum brightness of the OLED panel.
The 2020 LG GX is a luxury TV for any home-theater geeks who want the best picture, with the best design, and a top of the line operating system. I highly recommend this TV to anyone who is looking.

TV, phenomenal. Mount; iffy. The included mount with the TV is great, but they (LG) need to have a mount that is capable of 16/18/24 inch between studs. I had some studs that were slightly out of spec and had to put a piece of ply wood up and mount the gallery mount to the ply wood to get it to work right. Still came out really flush as I ran the cables behind the wall, but it sticks out further than it should.
Otherwise, great TV, good for Next Gen gaming etc.
