Beautiful OLED 55 GX

I was beyond thankful when this TV arrived. Having read up on it I knew I was in for a treat once it was set up. I was fortunate enough to have it professionally installed by a tech named Frank that was well versed in this particular TV and it's new, custom flush mount bracket. Once it was hung, it really did look beautiful on the wall. This was already replacing another big brand TV that I thought had a great picture until I saw this GX turned on. WOW. Everything about this TV is top notch. Great picture, perfect blacks and the gaming mode works great between our systems. The magic remote is very advanced, I was surprised during setup I was able to have it learn and take over my cable remote. It's able to access all of the menus, DVR, etc. with no issue. I can truly operate my TV with 1 single remote now. I've read great things about the built in sound but it didn't compare to my soundbar and wireless subwoofer I already had so I opted for that for audio output. The unfortunate thing when going this route and probably the biggest con for me is the sound variation between shows, channels and commercials. My older TV was able to balance it all out and decrease any spikes in audio. I may ultimately look into an LG soundbar to replace my current setup to fix the audio issue. Since the audio issue is my only con I'd definitely recommend this to friends, family and other consumers interested in a TV that mounts perfectly flush to your wall and gives you a beautiful picture. Whether you use it for TV, movies, or gaming, this TV will definitely perform for you. We've also hooked up our laptop occasionally via HDMI - USB-C cable for the homeschooling zoom calls and classes lately and it's been a great help as well. While the TV is on, you have the option of accessing a "Gallery" that has tons of beautiful artwork and photos which turns your TV into an art frame. The images look perfect and with the way the TV mounts flush it really looks great on the wall. It was a feature I knew about but wasn't sure if I'd use it but it really does look nice if we have company over and don't necessarily have the TV playing anything. Thanks LG for making a top notch TV with an awesome bracket to really show it's beauty.

I got home to faulty unit after driving over 200 MILES round-trip through a snowstorm, on Christmas Eve at that. The moment I turned it on there was a HORRIBLE flashing line across the bottom of the screen, on all inputs AND on the picture test so it is definitely a faulty display panel. On top of the flashing line, there are numerous horizontal faded lines as well which makes this TV impossible to watch. Oh and even when I turn the TV off, the line still flashes for a while. I'll be calling my local Best Buy customer service tomorrow for a replacement, if they can even get one in stock seeing how I got the last one within a 250 mile radius...

An out of this world OLED TV

Upon first turning this TV on, completing the setup process, and thereafter turning on a film in Dolby Vision quality, I was mesmerized by immaculate picture that was presented to me. Having never owned an OLED TV in the past, I was unsure just how amazing an OLED TV will be, and let me just say that what I experienced, and what I was expecting was totally blown out of the water by the amazing stunning quality picture that this TV produces. Among other things is the intuitive interface powered by WebOS, combined with LG's magic remote make it a winning combination. I really love that the remote features a moving cursor which makes navigating the interface a breeze. The LG gallery design is quite remarkable in that the TV is flush to the wall completely, without having any cables being in the way through LG's innovative design that hides all the cables in a uniform matter with recessed input panels.

Amazing picture! I really love the image quality on this OLED. I had a QLED and noticed a definite improvement in black levels with this unit. I like the remote and OS. A really nice TV, but a bit pricy. Looks amazing on the wall! I have apple fitness + and it's really great using it with this TV. I'm truly surprised about the audio quality considering how thin it is. Had trouble with installing on the wall mount because my studs weren't aligned properly and there was no adjustment available after it's on the wall. It has a nice feature for being able to rotate to level after it's installed but nothing to help you with moving side to side if it's not in the center of the room.

I could not be happier with our new 55” LG OLED GXPUA Series TV. This TV looks and sounds amazing and definitely surpasses every other TV we own. We have a lot of TVs in our house since we like entertainment and this TV is the best by far. I love the sleek design and the look of the TV and when they say gallery they were right since It looks beautiful on the wall. It is super thin and the picture quality is something I have never experienced before. You do need to play around with the settings for the picture since it’s on default when you receive it and we really noticed a difference. The picture is super clear and the sound feels like your in a movie theater. As soon as you turn on the TV all the featureS pop right up and is definitely a smart TV. You can easily connect to Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Vudu, Sling TV, WEB so, App Store, and Disney+ I love how it connects easily to Wifi but can also be connected via Ethernet and you can download apps right from the LG Content Store. I really like the full web browser that lets you search and how you can control it through Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa enables devices or through the magic remote control which is really cool. It has 4 HDMI inputs which is really nice since these days you really need that many. The OLED technology is amazing and let’s each pixel emit its own light independently for superior viewing. LG ThinQ technology fully integrates Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa making it easy to control compatible smart devices. There are so many amazing features that make this TV so great including a3 Gen AI Processor 4K, Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atoms, Sports Alerts, web browsing, Apple TV, LG Channels, OLED motion pro, Filmmaker mode, Bluetooth Surround Ready and so much more. We couldn’t be happier with the look and love how it can be easily mounted to the wall. Installation was quick and easy and they helped us with the whole setup. The best thing it just having this TV to watch everyday. It almost makes it hard to watch a TV in another room. We will be looking into more LG TVs now that we have seen what they can do. #LGTVInsiders

I am definitely wowed with our LG GXPUA model TV. This TV is so amazing in so many ways and makes me really wish we upgraded a long time ago. We usually buy Samsung TVs and never really considered LG but I am definitely sold on their TVs. The picture quality and sound are some of the most important features to me and this TV does not disappoint. It is a HDR 4K TV with amazing resolution at 3840x2160 and allows you to view UHD images. I love the design and look of this gallery style TV . It is a super thin TV which I love and makes it look very sleek. The mounting of the TV is a extra bonus since they place a box into your wall to hold any and all wires which gives the TV a look like it’s flush with the wall. The OLED technology each pixel emits it’s own light independently and can be completely turned off to give you a clear screen you can see in dark scenes. The TV is equipped with a9 Gen 3 Al Processor 4K is engineered to use AI and deep learning to upscale lower resolution content to 4K which is really cool. I love the dashboard of this TV and how as soon as you turn it on everything you need is right there and I enjoy being able to customize the home screen. The magic remote is really magic and I love the screen saver option. ThinQ AI was something new and I had not heard of but it fully integrates Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa making it easy to control other compatible devices. I love being able to talk to the TV :) Dolby Vision IQ automatically adjusts Dolby Vision picture setting based on light and content and Dolby Atoms helps create a multidimensional surround sound experience. I definitely feel like I’m in a movie theater when I’m watching TV. I love the all the options this TV has and I haven’t really found something that I don’t like about it other then I need a bigger one now. LG really outdid itself.

The Perfect TV

I was in the market for a TV and couldn’t be happier with this choice! We got the 55”, which worked out perfectly given the space of the wall in our living room. The installation crews were very efficient and courteous. TV was very high quality with the latest technology integrated. I had it connected to google so I can use it to start and stop an app. You can also easily mirror your laptop and phone to the TV. I switched the space X launch screen from my mac to the LG TV without any issues. The color was sharp and just wait until you watch a cooking show! All my friends complimented on the color contrast of the TV. Additionally, the TV is beautifully flush mounted to the wall; with the gallery option on really makes you feel like you at a museum. Overall, the TV looks beautiful in the living room with our dark painted wall and all the cables hiding behind the wall.

I've wanted an OLED for quite some time. I've owned a Kuro since 2008 and am addicted to deep rich blacks and the LG does not disappoint there. It has the most vibrant and opulent colors of any display i've laid eyes on, but it does lack brightness. This is okay with me, as if need be I can control the light in my living room and no direct sunlight hits the TV where it is mounted. However, if the area where you chose to place your panel is in direct sunlight or light is an issue you might want to look at other displays like the Sammy QLED. But be warned that the Sammy is so bright that bright scenes will be washed out. Also, if you don't need the thinnest of panels then save some cash and buy the CX series as the displays are the same. I wanted something thin and reasonable in cost and the GX hits the mark. It hangs flush on the wall and protrudes less than the other prints I have hanging.
I've noticed the wifi antenna seems to not pick up my wifi signal as well as other devices in the same location. This can lead to some annoying drops. The magic remote is quite nice to use but does take some getting used to. The LG Channels are a nice add for those of you that have cut the cord. And the art gallery mode is just ridiculous in it's realness.
Lastly, don't make the same mistake I did and buy too small a panel. I started with the 55" as I thought it would fit the space better, but it was too small. The non-existent bezel means the panels are actually smaller overall then one would think. One more note, this is a heavy panel. It is half the weight of my 122 lb Kuro, but it's 63 lbs is deceptively heavy and no good way to handle the slim TV.

Forget the CX. GX is the best TV on the market

By far the best TV I've ever owned!
Upgrading from a 1080p TV to a 4K OLED with HDR for next generation gaming, and it was definitely a huge leap in picture quality.
In comparison to the CX I can't tell a difference in the picture. However, build-wise it doesn't have a ultra thin panel sticking out which doesn't make moving the TV nerve wrecking. The included wall mount is extremely well designed and high quality. While the TV sits flush on the wall, the walls mount makes it very easy to extend the TV out to reach the HDMI slots.
The remote is a modern Wii-Mote with a pointer that is great for navigation, with also manual inputs to easily jump between. While the ability to point and click things on the menu is great and easy to turn on by shaking the remote. Its very sensitive and can be annoying as it's easy to knock the remote and have the pointer appear. It goes away in seconds, but its just a small complaint that doesn't take away from the TV experience.
Jumping between the apps and even using the built in internet browser is super fast and convenient. You can jump from Netflix to Amazon to Disney Plus in mere seconds. Its a absolutely great experience, especially coming off using my PS4 as my media device and the time spent waiting for each app to load. Its hard to look back.
Overall this is the best TV on the market. In comparison to the CX, its the same picture, but the better build and wall mount makes this TV better by comparison. If you plan on getting a CX and Wall Mounting your going to have a bad time. Pay the extra money and opt for a GX instead, you won't regret it!

My first OLED

Coming from a Samsung un48JS9000 to the OLED 55GX is quite a leap. Picture quality is better significantly, blacks are deep, HDR is superior to my older 2015 TV. I'm using the GX with my PS4 Pro and I'm satisfied with performance when playing games. I also use the GX with my iMac 2019 5K. I use an eternal graphics processing unit, the Razer X Chroma paired with a Radeon RX 5700 XT. Can't wait to the freesync update becomes available later since I'm using an AMD gpu. I tested Resident Evil 2 Remake on the GX and it looked much better then my Razer Raptor 27 inch 2k gaming monitor which offers freesync. Not as smooth but I rather play in 4K with much better HDR and color on the GX.
Mounting was not as hard as I thought I did NOT use the flush wall mount. Instead I mounting it to my TV stand's hanging mount. I used M6 x 12mm long screws I believe...I tried M6 x 20mm but those were too long. Attached the 2 brackets to the GX using 4 of the screws listed above then hung it on the tv mount. So it can be done for those who are wondering. The TV being in such a compact slim form will catch you off guard this TV feels heavy and very solidly built. I was going to get the 65 inch GX but I'm glad I didn't, the weight of the 55 was enough and the size of the 55 inch in my bedroom is just right. The 65 inch GX would been to much for my smaller bedroom. The GX has much to offer and is beautiful to look at and admire. Then again I feel this TV like many others just being released are not future proof. The GX being no different in this regard. I would probably go for the cheaper CX if I had to do this over. The only reason the GX got the nod was because it offers the Nextgen TV. If you like a slim profile tv get the GX if that doesn't concern you get the CX and save some money. Same OLED panel not much more difference besides speakers. Which are quite good I'm using them combined with a Samsung HWK950 soundbar and surround speakers. Sound feels the room when combined with the optical + internal speakers sound option.
My first OLED I've seen in person and now own. I'll try to update this review later when I've had more time with it.

What a great picture and the unit is so sleek sitting on the wall. The included TV mount is really nice and allows the TV to nestle against the wall better than most of the artwork I have hanging. The remote works well. I have cut the cable and this TV makes is easy for my 89 year old mother to navigate to her favorite channels (ESPN or wherever football games are being televised). I also hooked up Blue Tooth Shelf speakers on each side of her bed so she can hear the TV better. She uses the voice commands for the TV the most as it makes it easier for her to navigate. She comments routinely about how great the picture is and how easy it is for her to use.

Probably the best OLED TV you can buy, no matter the size. The contrast is second to none! The blacks are true and the colors are phenomenal! It’s a wall-mounted only TV, but trust me when I tell you it’s worth it. If you’re a gamer you can’t do any better, but you don’t have to be a gamer to enjoy it. The remote control is also second to none. I wasn’t sure whether to go with QLED or OLED. Well I certainly made the right choice! Go to YouTube and watch the Tech Giant. He will put all your doubts to rest.

This set is a best in class 4K TV. The OLED is far superior to the UHD set from Samsung of old. This model is a flush mount ready set also. It comes with it's own bracket for flush mounting so it looks like an art work on your wall. You'll need to cut holes in the drywall or run the wires down the TV in a conduit, but it's well worth it. The most amazing part of the TV is the absolute deep black the display generates that makes all the colors pop and standout. It will also support a gaming PC as a monitor. My only complain is the voice recognition. I wish I could turn it off. It pops up a message now and then that I don't want to see.

I have been enjoying this tv for just a couple of weeks now, but so far it is great. Perfect picture, good sound from the tv speakers, though I am using an external sound system. Looks fantastic mounted flush on the wall. A couple of details that I have learned that I could not confirm during my pre-purchase research: IR blaster - you get two emitters that are connected with a Wye-cable to a 3.5mm stereo male plug. I purchased a 20' 3.5mm stereo extension cable so I could install my AVR and DVD equipment in a nearby bookshelf cabinet, out of sight. The TV uses an RF remote control and must be programmed to send the appropriate signals to the IR blasters to control the AVR and DVD. Works perfectly, exactly what I wanted to achieve. Mounting instructions: the instructions say to locate your recessed wiring box so its opening aligns within a very limited area near the tv power cord. This is clearly not necessary as the power cord can be routed upwards in the recessed channel on the back of the tv. I located my electrical box higher up, on level with the horizontal cable channel on the back of the tv. So my other cables (HDMI, IR blaster, Optical, etc. don't have to make the downward turn in the cable channel on the back of the tv. Makes it easier to manage the cables if the the TV needs to be pulled out from the wall, and more margin for error for concealing the wiring box.
A fantastic TV if you can get past the cost. Probably the best you can buy.

The picture quality of this television is as good as advertised! The contrast and color is fantastic. Darker scenes are much easier to view than any other tv I've had before. Programming the television and remote takes time and patience and quite a bit of experimenting. I added a home theater system and still cannot get them to sync correctly.

2 weeks in - picture is awesome. looks great on the wall (but make sure you take your time mounting and put it into a stud if you can, this isn't a light television. Sound is great (for a tv) but do your self a favor and get a soundbar with it.
Happy overall other than it doesn't work with my google home setup, which in retrospect, I should have bought the android OS vs the webos, but whatever, this was the one that was available.
Cant speak to longevity, but i can't imagine much could go wrong with it as long as you don't let your kids shoot it with airsoft guns or let the new puppy chew on it. Also, don't drop it, it's thin but heavy and awkward to handle and mount. You'll need a buddy to at least guide you to the mounts.
