Picture quality is great! The one thing we really like about it is that the interface is really easy to use. It has a magic remote that you use to point to what you want to watch or the remote has one button to push if you want to watch Netflix or Amazon Prime. You use the remote pointer to point to your subscriptions like Netflix or HBO or cable t.v. It is really easy to use. The speakers are Ok, but we will be adding a sound bar in the future anyway. The speakers are way better than previous flat screen t.v.s. The black’s look black and the picture is sharp.
We have not had to adjust anything out of the box. The t.v. Was easy to setup out of the box. This is our first LG t.v. We hope it lasts longer than the last t.v.!

I have bought 2 high-end TVs in the last 9 months. The LG NANO Series 9 was the last one and has quickly become my favorite. I am very particular about picture and sound and this LG rivals the OLED for quality. In addition, the TV was very easy to set up and navigate. I LOVE the point and click feature using the laser pointer - no more arrows and scrolling ( although this is available if you prefer it). I have a Sony, Samsung and LG. LG has the best sound. Picture quality is excellent and comparable on all 3, but the extra perks and ease of use have made LG my number 1 favorite. I will be selecting LG in the future!

Picture quality, viewing angle, and brightness all suited me. It was easy to set up and connect to my network.

I really like this TV. It's very close to an OLED quality picture for much less cost. It has black blacks, amazing color fidelity, a wide viewing angle and no motion blur. The four big concerns I had moving to an LED TV coming from owning a Plasma TV the last 10 years. So far it's been amazing. It looks good too. The screen extends almost edge to edge and looks frameless. My only quibble is the smart TV interface, it's set up similar to little folder tabs at the bottom of the screen, one long list of apps (tabs) to scroll through and all hard to read what they are. Minor quibble though.

I am really happy with this tv. It does everything I was looking for plus a couple of things I didn't know about.
The color and clarity on this tv is amazing and it has better sound than many TVs out there.
One downside as a few people mentioned, is the blooming. It doesn't happen all the time so I can deal with it. It's usually visible on a black background with white lettering. For all of the good things about this tv, I'll deal with the blooming. It's not that bad.

Excellent Model To Reduce Glare

I chose this model for its size, picture quality, features and lower glare reflection for a bright room. The screen has a coating greatly reducing reflection of windows and lamps. Colors and blacks are true and deep, and picture is sharp. The speakers are at the bottom of the unit directing sound to the table or mantle beneath it for better quality, with several sound options including Dolby Atmos, surround and cinema, with the option to add Bluetooth enabled speakers. It does have an optical input for those of us still rocking an older sound bar, and has a setting to use both sound bar and tv volume together. There are also several picture options, such as movie mode, are available as well.
The greatest picture quality I have noticed is for gaming, which is automatic. Mario Kart looks amazing on this TV!
The controller takes a little time to get used to, but that may be because it’s new concept to me.
The only things I dislike are the stand that is included, and the mounts on the back of the unit to secure with earthquake straps. The mounting openings are now too small for the screws I used on my old TV to secure it to it’s cabinet with flatscreen specific earthquake straps, and smaller screws seem almost too narrow to adequately hold the unit to a wall mount (I cannot wall mount my tv). The stand is a curved flat bar with a single mount, doesn’t swivel, and seems woefully inadequate for the size and weight of the unit - they weren’t kidding that lifting it is a two man job. The unit wobbles alarmingly if touched, which makes me worried about tipping in an earthquake. I plan on purchasing a 3rd party base to replace it.

I really liked the picture on this set, looked awesome one the store and at home in a bright room but started to disappoint in a darker viewing environment which is how I watch most movies and during darker scenes with more pinpoint lighting such as torches or candles. The blooming effect created by the dimming and brightening light array behind the screen became distracting, and led me to move to OLED.
Love the LG interface though and many other aspects of this TV, sound on the built in system was quite good I felt and was really surprised checking it out with the Dolby Atmos Youtube videos.
The gallery view is also a nice feature with some beautiful content.
Overall if you watching a lot of sports or animated Kids movies I think you will be really pleased with this LCD.

I got this TV on Monday and I've really liked it so far. I hadn't bought a TV in ages, and the difference is pretty remarkable. The one drawback I've found so far is that my computer doesn't recognize the display as Freesync-capable, despite this TV having HDMI 2.1 ports and VRR being one of the biggest things LG added for 2019. I can't find the settings for it anywhere in the menus, and the actual LG support (not Best Buy) couldn't find it either - my issue was apparently escalated up to the engineering team last I heard! I will update this review if and when I hear back and the situation changes.
The picture is great. Very good contrast, while also quite bright. The menus are somewhat confusing and 4 days later I'm still sifting through some of them. As a pretty tech-savvy person, I know what most of the terminology means - the problem with the menus is that LG uses marketing terms for everything and offers little to no explanation what they mean in technical terms. I get that most people have no idea what any of those technical terms mean, but even a manual online with everything explained technically would have been great.
Overall, I'd recommend this TV. It's got a great picture, HDMI 2.1 for futureproofing, and the biggest features I was looking for (VRR and full array local dimming).

For the prices they have been pushing this early in the cycle, this a great TV.
Being Full Array, you do benefit with deeper blacks, however there is way more bloom than their should be.
I prefer the colors or LG and Samsung to Sony as it pops more. My Wife loves this TV (which is obviously huge) because of the "pop" of the colors. Overall this thing just is easy to setup and use.
My Sony XBR has more accurate color and better backlight. With that said, it is a PITA to get 4K HDR working consistantly without having to restart devices and change settings. This TV just works as it should without problems interface wise. It definetly is not the best TV as far as picture, but for the price it is a great TV that is easy to use.
100% recommend as a 2nd tv for bedroom or game room.
As a main TV I would caution as there a much better TVs at a higher premium.

Initially, I purchased the 8000 series 49" but decided to upgrade to 55". After my research, I found the same speakers to be in both models. I wanted more powerful speakers so I wouldn't have to buy a sound bar. I found out that there 9000 series had just the ticket and when I went into the store, three price was at an all time low because Amazon had a price drop for only a few hours... Win.. Win. The sound from the LG55SM9000PUA is great.. Much better that the 8000 series. The only negative is the dirty LED edges on the screen. LG said to exchange it for another set so that's what I'm doing. I haven't calibrated and not sure I will. The little bits of blooming don't bother me and the remote even works under the covers. FYI, no headphone jack provided. Overall, I'm very pleased, especially for the killer price I paid. Regards

I had planned to purchase a Samsung TV as I have one of those already, but Best Buy staff told me about the pluses that this TV offers. So I was stuck between a Samsung QLED with an older operating system and cheaper speakers (10 watt) vs this LG Nano Cell with a newer version 9 system (and 40 W speakers) both for very similar price. If I was going to spend more I would probably go with OLED and skip QLED. In the end, I decided on this TV. It has an awesome picture that I understand is not subject to screen burn in. X-Box games look awesome. The Magic remote control and operating system is great with excellent internet connectivity and voice control (Google and Alexa). Only disappointment is that Spectrum cable app is not supported, so I connect my cable box directly for that service. Samsung does support Spectrum on my other TV. LG does support Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube. LG also supports Apple Airplay. I don't think LG supports Apple TV app but Samsung does.

The Nano 9 tv after a few weeks is everything I hoped for in a tv without having to go go the extra money for a oled. The sound seemed to be really good. Have a sound bar that I got for the samsung tv that crashed after just a couple years, so I don't use the tv speaker. There are easy to use picture modes depending on what you are watching, if you don't want to do manual adjustments. Was up and running in about 10 minutes, easy step by step on screen set up. Overall seems to a great tv so far.

I absolutely love this TV and all its features especially for the price. great picture and sound and viewing angles. The only thing i do wish that was better are the black levels...they could be a little better and a stand that wasn't so wobbly. But other than that I highly recommend this Tv to anyone that dosen't want to break the banks on a new Tv. I think the picture is Amazing (aside from those black levels I mentioned earlier) I put it up there but just under Oled quality in my opinion.

TV overall is spectacular. Good looks with barely there black bezel. Very light and easy to hang for a 55" tv. Side connections, except for the coax for an antenna, come off the back. That is important for how close you can mount the tv to the wall. Audio out is also rear mounted but other inputs are all on the side for easy access and closer mounting. Easy setup and OS for getting all your apps on the tv, decluttering your setup from the need for external hardware.

This 55" LG replaced a 12 year old 40" in my living room. This room has many windows so it's a pretty bright room during the day and I always have some light on during evening tv viewing. I'm happy with my choice. The set up went smoothly and the I feel the picture is good. I worked with the settings the first couple weeks with some trial and error until I found what looked best to me. I like the remote and the sound is pretty good. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this LG tv.

Purchased this instead of the Samsung Q70 that would have been 300 more. Love the color and future proof features 4k 120 via HDMI 2.1 vs 2k 120 on the Samsung on the same Hdmi 2.1.. Remote control is so much easier to operate than Samsung's. So family can use it a lot easier.
Lg has some more apperant light blooming. The Samsung had little to no signs if light blooming. It wasn't too big of a deal for me, least not worth the extra 300 at the time. SO if it is for you, Definitely get the Samsung.

The color is fantastic on hockey, the picture could not be any clearer and this tv will blow a Samsung out of the water. I always was a huge Samsung supporter until I tried this LG tv. I am sold and anyone who games, watches sports or regular tv and does not want to spend the money on OLED, this tv is the next best thing. I would recommend.

It was down to two tvs. This LG and a Samsung. We all know Samsung is a top brand but I read so many reviews and heard many great things about the LG tvs. Both tvs I was considering were the same size and price so that was not a factor. I spoke with a Best Buy specialist, not the usual ones walking the floor giving their sales spiel, and he said both were great choices. He walked me through how I planned to use the tv (stream movies, blueray, gaming, etc.) and helped me determine that the LG would be best all-around for our family. I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. The smart remote... it has wheel scroll button and a cursor which is amazing! Also, WebOS has been flawless and was a huge draw for my decision. It is so easy to understand and use. I love the layout and settings options. Also, this tv will be adding Apple Airplay support later this year. I am the only Apple user in our house and was glad to hear that this will be added.
