The LG nanocell tv is honestly the best entry level tv for 4k tv viewing and for the gamers out there like me its great for 4k 120, the only downside is that since the tv is edge lit the darks aren’t really black but it’s honestly just nit picking.

This LG may cost a little more but you get what you pay for. The NanoCell tech gets the picture closer to the holy grail, the LG OLED, but for much less money. For those looking for a TV that doesn't break the bank but performs better than most, here it is.

Really good picture quality. Got it on sale and was a steal. The only complaint is that its edge lit so black screens are brighter but not noticable if there is color on the screen. Great for video game lovers.

Overall a good TV set with 2 exceptions, first being lack of 3D, I know some may think it’s a passing trend but it’s not. Second not too crazy about the backlight, when the picture isn’t too dark there are vertical panels of brightness jotting across the screen following the focus of what’s on it, it’s very annoying and the only fix is if I go to settings and lower them. There also seems to be an issue with the apps, my Amazon video app has crapped out several times, once I even had to delete it and reinstall it in order for it to work, not sure if this is just my set or indicative to this specific model?

The picture quality was good but not on that oled level that i am use to. hehe . I originally purchased the 55 inches which was a bad call after watching a 65 inch for the pass 4 years . Trust me once you watch 65 inch for your movie / sports entertainment its real hard to watch movies like godzilla vs kong on anything smaller, also the real problem i had with this set was the webos which i love seem to freeze or just not run as smooth as a 42 inch lg i also own . i would recommend to try the 90 version of this set. I actually went with the sony 900h 65 inch which has the hbo/max app that lg does not and the ios runs so smooth. Lg is still one of my favorite tv makers and when the new oleds drop a bit i may pick one up.

    Light Bleed is REAL

This was the first TV I purchased this week in the journey to get a great midrange television. I previously owned a crummy LG 4K tv that you get from black friday for around 300$ and even though it wasn't all too bright or nice in terms of build quality it served me well. Ultimately this tv was a huge disappointment. The picture quality when watching stuff like animated tv shows is great but as soon as you go to watch a Television with black bars on the top and bottom you immediately notice it's biggest flaw. Edge light bleed, obviously this varies from TV to TV and you may get lucky and get one without that issue. It was just too noticeable for me and detracted from watching films that take place at night. That's not to mention it's other huge flaw which is the local dimming. Say you have a really dark scene in a film and a circle is lit in the middle, you'll get a streak of halo light running right down the middle of your screen because of this, it's just terrible. I do LOVE the interface and the controller as it has a pointer functionality similar to an old Wii console that's easy and pretty fun to use. But for this price I expect more.
