Solid mid-range TV. I don't love LG's WebOS, but I just use my own streaming boxes, so it doesn't matter. The magic remote is gimmicky: it's fine when you use it as a traditional point and click, but that cursor on the screen doesn't add much value. The picture is bright, and works just fine in bright rooms. Solid contrast for this price point. The built-in speakers are tinny, but that's largely true for most TVs these days. Spend a bit more on external speakers and you'll be fine.

Great picture for the price. LG always delivers and couldn't be happier. It was between this and an OLED. I would have loved an OLED but I will wait a bit in hopes the price comes down. This TV has great blacks and vibrant colors. Make sure to do some internet searching on best settings for the TV to get the best picture.

The tv speaks for itself in TRUE LG fashion in advanced technology and excellent graphic quality and capabilities. The functionality of this tv gives you any and everything you need, right at a user friendly touch of a button (or two). I highly recommend this Nano model if you are a serious gamer, you won't be disappointed. For the everyday tv watcher, you will be just as pleased.

Had a Panasonic 50" Plasma that was 12 years old that died on Christmas eve morning looked all over internet really wanted a Sony 950H but none to be found. So then I started looking for anything with 120Hz. Only thing available in 55" was this LG NanoCell 90 Series and some really expensive Qled's which I could not afford. So I looked at all the spec's and called a friend who had gotten a 55" NanoCell 85 series and asked how it was working for him. He was loving it and he also came from a plasma. So I got the NanoCell that day. I was concerned about picture quality after having a plasma. Well to be honest I was very impressed with picture quality after I got it adjusted. As a matter of fact the picture jumps out at you and it looks as if you are right there and the clarity is amazing, probably best one of the best LED picture's out there only thing better are Qled's . I was really concerned about motion blur as with plasma I had none. Well at first I did not like it but after finding the right setting it is just fine. The remote is a little different but you get used to it. The sound was much better right out of the box than most new TV's I have heard, very surprised. It is not like having a real surround sound system but for built in speakers it is very good. All in all I am very happy and glad that I got it. LG has done a great job with the NanoCell series.

Brilliant colors and picture, as advertised. Not a huge fan of WebO#, but with Apple Play, all works well together. 90 series is well worth the step up in cost. Overall, it is a great proctuct from LG. Actual purchase and delivery date is a month earlier than shown because BB’s delivery, while on time, was not initially logged and required some intervention to correct.

Wow! I had a TCL TV, colors looked washed out and it didn't support Dolby Vision, Dolby atoms, HDMI 2.1, and wasn't very good for gaming. The LG Nano cell 90 series is awesome, the input lag is very low, games look awesome crisp and the colors pop! The picture is sharp and my games look waaaaaay better on my Xbox series s! I bought a eARC HDMI cable to take full advantage of 120fps! Highly recommend this TV! Movies look great too! This TV has a ton of features to play with, webOS, Google assistant, Dolby Vision & Atmos, just do it! Buy it!

I purchased this TV because I recently purchased an Xbox Series X, and I need a 4K TV with HDMI 2.1. This TV is beautiful and works great with my Xbox. It has so many features and benefits that I wasn’t aware of. I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone who wants a great display without breaking the bank.

This TV is amazing. I’m very glad I bought it. Games, movies, and TV look excellent on it. It comes with channels pre-loaded and many apps. It has HDMI 2.2 for next gen consoles. The HDR makes many games stunning. It’s absolutely worth it. I haven’t used every feature but so far, so good.

Purchased this TV for our vacation home. This tv has a beautiful picture. It does take a while to learn, so have patience. We stream instead of cable or satellite, and we use a Roku for our streaming device which is easy and we love it. The tv also has a lot of streaming apps installed, so you can go that route too, we just prefer a Roku. You can set it up quickly and keep all the default settings, but I did change a few things. I did change the picture to the vivid setting instead of the standard, liked it a lot more. The user guide is installed on the tv, just navigate to it and you can go through everything. I believe you can also find it on the internet. There were a lot of comments about the great sound quality and no need for a sound bar. In our case, this tv is located in a large open room with high ceilings and a loft. I do think it would be much better with a external sound system, but it may be just fine in a smaller room.

We had a very nice Samsung Q70 that was near perfect until it had a dead pixel, so we returned it. We saw this one had just come out and had full array, decent price and looked like it would have been better than what we had. We were unfortunately wrong, the local dimming is awful, there is almost constantly a white cloud around anything that the local dimming attaches to on a dark scene. So we turned the settings off and the blacks just got grey, I'm assuming since it's not edge lit, the full backlight is on, and even with messing with settings and turning brightness, backlight, etc. down it did not solve the issue. Image quality is decent, colors do pop but the bloom that is produced by the local dimming ruins it in dark scenes. We live about 250 miles away from a BestBuy and have to drive back and return this one again, we exchanged it for a Samsung Q70 again, hopefully no issues this time around.

I looked at a lot of TV's that were capable of 4K@120Hz for the XBOX Series X and PS5. The LG Nano 90 checks all the boxes. VRR, FreeSync Premium and Low-Latency Mode of this TV were tailor made for the Next Genration. There are 2 120Hz ports (1 of those is eARC) so you can use BOTH a XSX and a PS5. The colors pop when HDR gaming is in use! The one caveat is when watching 4K movies, the screen does not get as bright as an OLED, and the blacks arent that inky black you come to expect from OLED. I bought this TV specifically for gaming. It is a true gaming television. And for a fair price. You will not be disappointed.

Samsung vs LG vs Sony - it was a horse race

My budget for a 55" TV was $1200. My desire was to get the best for my money - I thought that the Samsung Q8DT Series after all my research would be perfect and I couldn't have been more wrong. I purchased the Samsung from Costco knowing I had 90 days to make the return. My goal was that the TV must be easy to use for my wife - without having to use 3-4 remotes to get everything up and running and have a much better picture than my 10 year old 44" Visio. It must only take ONE REMOTE to operate everything! That required that the eARC/CEC communication work properly with my Yamaha TSR-700 AVR. Thus, the optical audio was not an option for my rig. My configuration has the following requirements: The TV will only plug into the AVR - I refuse to plug devices directly into the TV bypassing the AVR. The AVR must handle 4k and all devices The universal remote must handle everything (within reason for older DVD player I have which is going to be replaced). Goal: SIMPLICITY/EASE-OF-USE and gorgeous picture and sound The results were very disappointing with the Samsung. The picture would stutter during playback from the DVR (RCN Lehigh Valley PACE device through the Yamaha). The Yamaha AVR did not know when to turn on from the Samsung CEC. It was a mess. My wife saw my frustration and said, "Just return it, it doesn't work. Stop knocking yourself over to make it work." I then turned to a few friends who suggested the LG brand. So, I dialed into the NanoCell expecting the picture to be better/smoother. By the way, OLED was off my list because of the burn-in. Again, I could not have been more wrong. The picture flow was actually worse. BUT, the LG did turn on the Yamaha AVR but the Yamaha would activate the TV source instead of the STB (Set-Top Box - meaning the DVR that's plugged into the Yamaha should be the video and audio source). So, I would see the DVR picture but could not hear anything because the Yamaha was confused about the audio source. Plus, the remote for the LG was not able to properly control the DVR. So, another failure for the CEC integration (Samsung and LG are both out at this point in my quest). Could the issue have been the Yamaha? I contacted them since this was a new AVR for my rig and they said - "It should just work with any device". I said, OK, let's go with that theory. Especially since I saw the Yamaha actual perform properly with the LG while I saw the Samsung properly control the DVR. At this point I was contemplating the Chinese brand, Hisense, because of the reviews, but I figured I should give Sony a chance before going down that road. I've always had a high respect for Sony quality since I was in high school and bought a Song boombox that I still own today and it works amazingly great! So, I returned the LG to BestBuy (love their return services - it's so easy and they help bring the TV in from the car!). I bought the Sony Bravia X900H series (not the X950H - the features were not as good based on reviews). This TV finally worked correctly and consistently with the Yamaha - YAY! Where the Samsung was flaky and unpredictable when you turned it on and the LG was not smart enough to actually handle the DVR through the Yamaha AVR, the Sony shined! Plus, the Sony's picture does not stutter and the remote handles the DVR with perfection along with the Yamaha AVR. So, I found the winner and all three 55" models were under $1100 which fit my budget. Moral of the story is I thought Samsung was a leader in the TV market - I was wrong. Their software is buggy and their frame rates (stutter) are very disappointing in these mid-range TV's. Similarly, LG fell into a similar category because it could not become one-stop shopping for the universal remote and the same frame stutter problem. Now, is the Sony perfect? Nope. The Yamaha will change the surround-sound mode based on CEC communication and apparently during playback of the DVR (literally, the mode is embedded in the recording), the Yamaha picks up a change and tries to switch, which causes the sound to pause while the Yamaha is switching surround sound modes (Dolby Digital to Dolby Digital Plus or something like that). Is that annoying? Yes. Is that software fixable? Yes. Do I know who the issue belongs to: DVR, AVR or TV? Nope. Not without more testing and removing variables could I zero in on that issue but I knew, going into the TV swap quest, I was going to have to live with something since these devices are now so software dependent that any little bug or bad CEC communication can cause a frustrating problem for the user. And of course, there is one more annoyance with the Sony: the glare factor. Yup, it has a much higher glare so watching dark scenes is difficult with lights on in the rooms (I have to see if my wife will move a mirror because it's causing the most glare at this point - she probably won't be happy about my request). All in all - there's no perfect TV/AVR/DVR because the CEC standard is wonky, the universal remote concept is still unfolding and the picture quality is not as good as I thought with Samsung and LG in the mid-range TV's. My only recommendation is be prepared to live with it or keep the box handy so you can return it and work through swapping equipment until you find a rig that works for you.
