Check your recall list for LG ranges. There are several because they turn on too easily when knobs are hit.

What a horrible horrendous delivery process. Delayed over 5 times with ZERO communication from Best Buy. DO NOT ORDER APPLAINCES FOR DELIVERY FROM BEST BUY. EVER. Unless of course you enjoy month long delays, taking time off work when no one shows up or calls on the day THEY said was available for delivery and sent multiple email confirmations. NEVER AGAIN will I order anything for delivery from them. Order at your own risk.

I was wanting a gas range but our neighborhood doesn’t have access to natural gas.☹️ Our home was recently remodeled and was fitted with a Whirlpool glasstop radiant heat electric range. it was awful! It would take upwards of 15 minutes for it to boil 4 cups of water. Sautéing was difficult—either too hot or too cold. So we bought this LG induction range. WOW! 4 cups of water boil in 1.5 minutes! Sautéing is a breeze! Believe it or not 95% of my existing cookware is compatible with induction so not a problem. Yesterday, I did a Chinese Kung Pao stir fry using my carbon steel wok. Easiest stir fry ever with perfectly adjusted cooking temps. So far, this range beats gas hands down. After a cook it’s very easy to clean because nothing gets burned onto the burners. So far, I’ve only used the oven once—I’m not much of a baker but it seems nice. The oven does not have conventional heating elements relying on fan-driven heating or convection. The broiler does have a standard heating element. It seems like there’s no such thing as a perfectly engineered appliance so I do have quibbles: The clock is way too dim and can’t be adjusted. You can’t see the time in bright light. However, if you turn a burner on it does temporarily brighten up but only for about 90 seconds. And as others have said, there’s no backlighting. I also wish the burner knobs were easier to read. The installers while they came on time, messed up when they slid the range in; one side was higher than the other but was able to resolve this. Overall, however, this is a good range and I’m happy—poorer but happy.

Induction cooking is a wonderful alternative to electric, for a condo where gas is unavailable. The LG is full of features and while we are still exploring, does a reasonable job of air frying (don't expect miracles), and has other useful settings. I wish the oven light could be set to remain on. The build is ok--the bottom draw feels a bit flimsy, the dials without the heft of more substantial (and expensive) alternatives. So for us, a good fit overall.

So far so good. I like the cubic footage and am excited for the induction top. Has not been installed yet. But will be soon
