Im not new to tvs n I didnt replace a 30 year old tv (in which case the crappiest tv would look amazing). I biught this tv technically for my gf. I have a 40 inch sharp 4k n downstairs a 55 in Sony bravia 1080p (at the time was like 2k 5-6 yesrs ago). Point is the Sony aged well, still is the best tv ice watched. 4k is nice but tech still hasnt caught up n now theres 8k? Dont fall for the hype. Unfortunately best buy doesn't even sell 1080p's anymore there all 4k or 8k. If you can get a decent name brand in 4k get the one u can afford and the amount of hdmi ports u need n u will be fine. This lg is nice looking good picture but in my opinion my 6 year old sony still blows it away. But for the price under 500 for a 60 inch 4k is good deal and it works but could be better. I, unlike most, think the sound is great. Im not a fan of external speakers. I dont care to have a theater type sound n this is loud and clear on like 20 n her living room is huge. Theres a giant 6 person corner reclining couch (idk what its called) and you are sitting at least 12ft away from the tv and its perfect. If all u can get is a 55 I personally dont see much of a diff to warrant spending the extra money on 5 inches more. Food for thought. Now 65 or 70 is prob a nice enough diff. The colors arnt perfect its speed is perfect ive played my ps4 n it gets a little choppy looking in certwin scenes minimally, it really wouldnt deter from buying it solely to play games but its noticable occasionally. Lots of ports and a decent lower end 4k tv. Movies are good I dont have any real complaints and I truly havent messed with the settings enough to know if the pic can get even better which im sure it can. It will give the soap opera effect which can make certain shows u r used to look really fake cause the oicture is vivid. That can be dialed down with certain settings im sure. All in all if this is in ur price range I would consider it. Just remember u can (although obv a pia) return it within 14 days if isnt to ur liking. Or u can wait it out with what u have n wait w years for 8k's to be this price up to u. I dont see any real benefit to 8k as there is minimal 4k products still avail n these have been obtainable price wise for years so the video and processing end of things cant keep up clearly.

    Middle of the road TV

Don't know how this TV is getting so many 5 star ratings. The warranty company offered this as one of the options as a replacement for a failed Vizio M60-C3. The picture on that TV was excellent but it suffered from LED arrays that were prone to failure. This LG TV doesn't even come close to the picture quality of that set. Even with many of the LEDs out the Vizio still had a clearer and sharper picture than this set. To be honest the colors are brilliant and the black levels are outstanding but even after several adjustments the details are often blownout and exhibits blooming around bright elements in the scene. The edges of items in a scene (such as the edge of a characters face or other objects) tend to be jagged even when viewed from a good distance away. Motion clarity can be a problem at times as well. I tried using the HDR selections and they only seemed to make the picture quality worse and dimmer instead of making it "Pop" like it is advertised. As with all large screen TVs today you need to invest in a soundbar or connect to some sort of home entertainment system for any sort of decent sound. The setup is easy, the WebOS works really well, and it comes pre-stocked with useful APPs already installed. It all falls back to that trite comment that "this is a good set for the money." The trouble is that there are several exceptional sets in the same price range that offer better picture quality and user interface. 3 or 4 years ago this probably would have been a top pick. Sadly now it is only an also ran among a field of other sets that are a better value for the money.

    Great picture, disappointing audio

I bought this TV to upgrade an older LG I had and loved the picture quality on it for the price. Unfortunately, I had to return it due to an audio output error on my surround sound. When outputting to a 4K receiver, Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube worked flawlessly over HDMI ARC or Optical audio out. However, when trying to watch Sling, MLB.TV, UFC.TV, or even live local channels, the audio output cut out randomly, yet frequently. It was basically unwatchable and I assumed a defective TV was to blame. I took the TV back and got a replacment. Guess what...same audio issues on the new one - live TV, Sling, Hulu, and a slew of other apps wouldn't properly output over ARC or optical out. I tried contacting LG and they tried very few possible solutions before telling me my receiver was to blame. Unfortunately for them, when I told them I have tried both a Denon and Onkyo receiver (both 4K compatible) and both had identical issues, it solidified the fact that these TVs can't properly output sound. I'm still waiting to hear something back from LG that might fix the solution but I'm not holding my breath. Although the picture is great and it would definitely be 5 stars for the price, I can't really recommend this TV to anyone not using the internal speakers, given that you'll have to buy a 4K Roku to handle all of your applications' sound. Disappointed that LG is seemingly no longer producing the kind of quality products they used to.

I already had the 49" version of this tv so I knew it was going to be great. I sit pretty far back in my bed room but my living room is actually quite narrow so the 49" does great in there. I sit as far away as 14 feet from my tv and I can read text crawls on news or prompts on video games. The clarity/resolution doesn't lessen with the increase in size either. It has three hdmi ports which is probably enough for most people but I wish it had more. Other than that it's fantastic, everything looks beautiful and smooth. The sound with built in speakers is great, built in amazon prime and Netflix if you don't have an Apple TV, chromecast, fire stick, roku etc. if you do sometimes it's more convenient to just use the one built into the tv and remote. One more concern is the stand. I have a dedicated third party stand for both TVs. The ones that come with it are borderline vestigial they don't allow for rotation and are liable to give you panick attacks, I don't think LG expects you to actually use the long term. A proper stand is a must purchase (mounting points on the back work perfectly) but for the price of this tv (around 550 during pre Black Friday sale) it's can't really be bested throw another 30-50 bucks in for a stand and it's still a heck of a deal.

I've had LG TVs before and always enjoyed their clarity and picture quality. At a price in the $500 range, I thought this would be a steal. It turned out to be just an OK purchase. I've had it a month. Now that the TV burn in is complete, I've adjusted the colors. I cannot get the picture to be as natural looking as my other TVs. For the price, this is good enough for my den/stereo room. The big problem is HDMI2 keeps losing its ability to link to my Oppo player. At first I tried changing cables and then switching cable box/Oppo leads without success. Then I read a LG service bulletin instructing owners to reboot the set to correct such a problem. [Hold down the button behind the indicator light for 60 seconds] . That does bring HDMI2 back to life, but I've to reboot every couple days. I'm hoping the problem goes away with an LG software upgrade. My TV is wall hung. Therefore HDMI3 and many connections other than HDMI1 and HDMI2 are not easily accessible. That's something to consider if you plan to wall hang the TV.

I went into BestBuy one day in January looking to buy a new TV not knowing which brand or what size. I guess I spent 30 minutes trying to decide. Finally the sales person suggested this LG 60" tv on sale for $499.99. I said ok and took home with a new Roku 4k player. If this tv is entry level, I wonder how good LG's more advanced TV's are. The detail is so clear, I can see every little detail of everything. The web os is a great addition, though I spend more time with the Roku. It took me a few days of getting to know the menu and dialing in the picture to where I want it. Very satisfied.

... I brought this home. The picture is amazing! Our old TV (which was less then 2 years old) started to have issues and thank goodness we had an extended warranty through Best Buy. They agreed to refund the cost of the TV allowing us to purchase a new one. I decided to upgrade. The difference is crazy. It makes me want to upgrade our blu ray to 4k and upgrade all our movies (but that's fiscally impossible LOL). I've never had a smart tv so haven't really used all the functions yet. Drawback, you can't stream from an iPhone directly but my boyfriend can from his Android platform phone. I also got the extended warranty on this TV just in case : @@@@@@@

The TV is pretty good for the price. The picture quality is ok but not great. We are watching this TV with mostly streaming devices and some apps work better than others. The TV has a tough time with really dark blacks and the black level can come across gray or very pixel-ed if there is a lot of movement or other bight colors in the background. All in all, a good TV for the price but there are certainly TV's with better picture quality out there but you are going to have to pay significantly more for those TV's

This TV replaced our original 50" flat panel from 2006. It was awesome right up until it died the day I bought this one. It had the most awesome picture and color. This TV has a lot to live up to...but after the first night watching it this Flat Panel blew me away. The clarity and reality in our regular HD cable programming was OUT OF THIS WORLD! It seemed as if we were watching it while being filmed...everything was so life like, the images seemed to be coming off of the screen! This is an outstanding buy for the price!

I purchased this LG TV to replace an older model that I gave to my brother in-law. The TV has a good picture and sound quality at a good price. The LG "smart" TV webOS works fine, but lacks the variety of apps and usability that I can get on a streaming device like FireTV, Roku, or Chromecast, so I now have it paired with a FireTV 4K device. I was unable to get the audio output connected to my Denon receiver using HDMI ARC, but was able to connect using alternative means. All in all, I am happy with the TV.

I purchased this tv as a replacement for my 13 year old plasma. The picture is good as is the sound. Plenty of adjustments to fine tune both for personal preferences. I had to turn off the ad server because I had a couple of instances that it made the picture smaller and scooted it to the right side of the set to make room for a personalized adbut when the ad went away the picture didn't return to full screen. Wasn't really happy about the advertising anyway. Hasnt happened again after I turned it off.

I give a standing ovation to this TV. . it comes with a web browser and more. I can easily make it a part of my smart home because it comes built in with Amazon Alexa connectivity as well as Google Home connectivity. The picture is GREAT! Probably the best 4k TV I've owned and I've owned one from Hisense, Samsung, Sony, and now LG. If you have questions I'm a tech nerd feel free to comment on here if supported. . I can help ya possibly. . well most likely

As an A/V pro, I have come to trust LG for their quality at any price - especially the entry level Smart TVs. My clients agree. 60" models from brands are hard to find these days and, for this client, was exactly the size to fir their custom cabinet/automated riser system. For the dollar, the LG picture quality is terrific and their tech support is always good. From the days of their Plasma line to the current technology, definitely a good buy and to be trusted.

My main motivation to get this TV was that it was HDR compatible with my new xbox one x. Which shouldn't be a big deal but the first TV I got did not get recognized by the xbox as being HDR compatible. Anyway about the TV. It is gorgeous. Coming from just regular HD to a full ultra 4K picture is incredible. It crystal clear. Setup was simple and It was easy to mount. I got a good deal at Christmas Time and I am very impressed with the quality and value.

I bought both this TV and the 50 inch size of this same model at the same time. The 50 inch has proven to have the better picture of the two. The 60" has visible banding and seems to have issues when displaying dark colors or black on screen. I thought maybe I had a defective one so I returned it for another and the replacement one has the same issues. It's a good entry level 4K smart TV, but it leaves much to be desired.

Beautiful picture, cost less than half what I paid for a 47" LCD 11 years ago (also weighs half as much! @@@@@@@ . Easy to set up. The only drawback, apparently common to nearly all LED TVs, is the mirror-like screen - our living room has a large picture window which reflects badly in the screen, even with the blinds closed (installing blackout curtains now). The old LCD TV had a non-glare screen.

I was looking for a TV for my living room, and never had an LG in my life. I fell in love with this TV immediately, and a month later it's fantastic! The apps and menu screen took a couple of minutes to get used to, but once you do it's very easy to get to all of your favorite apps. The picture quality is great. But the sound quality really impressed me. Especially for a TV.

The video looks great, set up is easy, but the remote is small and requires attention to navigate. Depending on the whatever is on the screen, it is sometimes difficult to see the input display. I use the optical output to a sound bar (works great), so am unable to comment on the sound quality from the onboard speakers. I liked this TV enough to recommend it to a friend and she is A-plussed.

Arrived at my parents house for Christmas break, turned on the old tv and it took 20 minutes to warm up and finally get picture. Asked dad how long this has been occurring - greater than 6 months. Not a hard call for time to replace. Great image, good price, and helpful associates on the floor and loading into the car. Simple enough features my parents can use, but advanced enough to get the best picture quality for the money.

After researching TVs for several months, we decided on this one. We got this TV as a replacement to an old Samsung Plasma. This has an outstanding picture and I love that it integrates into the Samsung sound bar. We don't have cable, so the fact that it has Amazon, Netflix and Hulu are exactly what our family needs. LG out did themselves with this one.
