I had a 65" Samsung curved 4K set that was only 8 months old. My grandson threw a little ball at the screen and left a star mark. He's 3, the ball was soft plastic. Samsung wouldn't cover it. I had 3D LG that I gave to my son when I got the Samsung, and I felt it was a superior set. Black levels are much better. Also, if you use an outdoor antenna, the Samsung had to be rescanned every time I rotated the antenna. The LG will remember the channels and let you enter them manually. I set the picture using the Consumer Reports recommendations, except I set it to light room instead of dark. Very happy with my purchase under the circumstances, Best Buy did a price match. I got a good deal.

Jeez, I love this television!! Great picture, 4K is beautiful. Magic remote is easy to maneuver, and sound is good for little speakers! 3D is absolutely fantastic!!

I moved up from a plasma and have to say, this tv is amazing. The upconverter in tv makes everything look stunning, old Twilight Zone shows look brand new (still black and white..lol). The sound takes some getting used to, several times have I went to my phone thinking it was ringing, in other words it fools the dog and I. Being a smart tv I can see why people cut their cable off and go strictly internet, this thing has no lag and several preloaded streaming services installed. You will not second guess this purchase.

The tv is great. Crisp colors and motion without blur. Sound is nice enough that I don't need a soundbar. 4k movies and gaming are awesome. Everything looks better on this screen. I did not buy this for the 3D. Which is good because I did not know that the tv will not play 3D BluRay movies. The passive is nice enough to turn on and view movies that were shown in theaters in 3D and to watch computer animated films. The glasses are easy to come by since they are the ones given to you at the cinema. The picture is great close up and far away. It is worth the extra money to upgrade to this tv from similar LG models for the 240hz and other benefits.

Purchased this 65UH8500 on Dec.30 to replace my 55 inch 3D tv with active glasses. (am sensitive to active flicker). I love 3D tv and LG and Sony are the only brands available. this has passive 3D, so I went with it. Passive does not give eye strain like active glasses. The 1st unit had noticeable light bleed at top and bottom. Like spotlights shining from edges on shows with top and bottom black bars. Called Best Buy and they delivered a free replacement. Kudos. The 2nd unit was perfect. This TV has it all - 3D plus 2d to 3d conversion (superbowl LI in 3D came alive, much better than flat 2d), screen mirroring, wifi direct, wifi, web browser, inputs, etc. The browser falls short in that it does not support Flash. But by casting your computer screen to the tv, you have it. I have just ordered an LG 3D phone with 3D camera for home videos. TV only plays mp4 video on usb. Native 3D movies are amazing. I found myself ducking a number of times watching action blurays. You feel like you are there. Since a lot of movies in the theatres are shot in 3D, you need this tv to experience them. I receive my channels with an antenna over the air. I get 38 HD channels. 2D to 3D up conversion on tv shows is excellent. Also have a PVR for recording shows. Clarity is amazing. Do not hesitate on buying.

This is a wonderful tv. They picture is amazing. It's easy to use and the 3d function it's great.

The clarity and color are wonderful. Bought a sound bar, but the sound was actually good before we added. We really forget to turn it on most of the time now. LOL Our family is truly enjoying the additional channels and addons that are part of the LG system. Excited about setting up the 3-D movies we have, so we can watch them. This TV has everything anyone could ever want in a television.

Love it! excellent picture, but not "the best". great 3D, color, and clarity!

I had been holding out for years for the perfect TV and this one has it all. 4K, HDR, up-converting to 4K, 3D, voice & gesture remote, built in apps including YouTube, Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, Google Play Movies & TV and LG Content Store with many more channels and games you can add. It even has a built in web browser, photo browser and DLNA. The only thing I don't like about it is the edge lighting that lights up the entire vertical panel when there is a bright object in a dark scene but if I opted to get a TV with real backlighting, it would have added an additional $500-$1000 so for now, I will live with it and in a few years who knows. I still think it's the best TV for the money.

Happy with the TV so far, needed a lot of Picture adjustments the default setting where not working for my room, once I got the picture the way I like it its great. I still miss my Plasma but enjoy the size! Watching the new Stars Wars from my Apple TV was amazing! For the Price great buy, was recommended by Sound and Vision Mag and I recommend going and checking out there reviews on all TV AV stuff before you buy something.

I love the fact that I can talk to the remote control and ask it to search for things like shows on YouTube, etc. This feature makes using and getting the best experience from watching TV so easy. Love it, love it, love it!! BTW, picture quality is awesome too, even without 4K signal.

This TV is just awesome the Picture makes you feel like your a part of it right in the action, The 3D movies are fantastic all around this TV was a Great buy price wise and also for the 3D. I would recommend to everyone.

Bought this LG UHD to replace my old plasma. Huge difference, and solved my issue with glare coming from the large living room window. Heavier than expected, but looks super sleek. Display in the stores picture quality is what sold me over other brands that were more expensive.

I wanted the best 65 inch TV for around $1500. This is probably the TV available in that range. You can probably go for an OLED but you'll be paying a $1000 more at least and you will hardly notice the difference. This TV offers a great picture, a great sound and amzing features

We are very pleased with the natural color pallet that this tv has. The sound is very good even without a sound bar. There are so many settings that for a novice it can be daunting to achieve a satisfactory custom picture so allow time to get used to the set and it's many features. It's a plus that the LG is compatible with both High dynamic range HDR-10 and Dolby Vision and being able convert any show to 3D is a fun plus. Some have complained about the back light issue but this is only visible on dark screens and has not effected our enjoyment of the amazing picture this set has. Using the remote's pointer feature is a bit clumsy but we usually use our cable box remote for daily TV viewing and only need the "magic remote" for settings. Overall we are happy with our choice.

I am a plasma tv believer from way back. When one of my plasma TVs started having trouble I quickly learned I had to start looking at LEDs. I looked at and read reviews on just about everything out there. Just about every brand and model out there some people liked it and some didn't. It was very difficult for me to make a decision to move on from plasma. I was not even sure about this TV at the time of purchase. The sales representative said "Try it, you can always bring it back and try something else". So I did and am as pleased as I can be after not having plasma as an option. I have now had this TV for nearly 4 months and still feel the sales representative and I made a good decision.

I love this TV. Was helped tremendously by the salesperson. He told me the pros and cons of all the televisions and helped me select the one that was right for us. It was easy with the wall mount and we are very pleased with the color and definition.

This is a very good IPS panel. Being IPS it is not as bright as others but it has better viewing angles. Still looking good at an angle was more important to me than the boost in brightness. The remote was weird for me at first but after using it for a bit I really like it and wish the pointer function was built into my harmony. I have not played with the sound much as I use a receiver but I did test the internal speakers to be sure they worked and they sounded better than most TV speakers to me. If you are not worried about the TV looking good off center you should shop around some. If off center viewing is important to you stop here. You are not going to get anything that is enough improvement to warrant much money. That statement does not include OLED of course if you can afford it thats the way to go.

Screen is beautiful, colors are vibrant and the apps work very fast! I love this TV and how often the apps are updated on it! Netflix, Hulu and Plex work perfectly and the passive 3D is perfect! Being that LG is the only remaining TV maker that is using passive 3D this is the model to get if you want all the bells and whistles at an affordable price. The only TV better than this one is the OLED model but it costs twice as much for this size. The only complaint I have on the TV is that the local dimming is awful and should be turned off. Bright spots create spotty banding in dark areas and that's not how it's supposed to work. Once it's off the TV is fine. Also the price dropped $300 since I purchased the TV and I'm well past my price match time frame... I wish I would have waited a few more months.
