I went into best buy wanting to purchase the Samsung 4k tv. I was offered the LG for about $100 less but with better resolution. It took sometime for me to decide but I ended up buying the LG. Got hope and connected it right away to find out it is much better than the Samsung I saw in the store.

I've had this tv now for about 1 month, and I'm having problems with the HDR setting. I have an Xbox One S running 4K movies and the movies look better on just Sports mode. This is odd to me. For the price of this tv I'd expect it to be flawless, but it's not. Other than that, (which is a major flaw) the tv is great. Just the HDR mode which is supposed to be it's best overall setting.

Be sure to follow directions on how to get it out of the box. The ultra thin screen is difficult to lift if you take it out the wrong way. Took two people to lift safely. Easy set up. Nice picture. Perfect for game day!

Overall, it is grey. And has the worst backlights

This screen is ruined by 1 thing alone. It has a crazy backlight that is awash with greys. Classic jail bars look on the bands of active backlights. I tried to be "ok" with it, but it is not something I can get past. Shame also the pixels are super small and the PQ is great.
LG Get on the ball with the backlighting.

What a difference

Had the Samsung uh8500 and was constantly having sound issues. Tried 3 different ones and all had the same issues. due to being a loyal samsung customer from phone to tv to washer/dryer etc....reluctantly i decided to try the lg uh9500.... MAN I'm glad I did. This blows the Samsung out of the water. The picture is way better, not sure if it is due to the extra light at the bottom of the screen. According to the bb sales rep it has 2 on bottom and side one. The extra layer of screen covering makes a little difference for the glare. The remote is more user friendly than the Samsungs and most importantly no sound issue. My wife was amazed at the picture clarity and got two thumbs up for the trade. The only reason for the 4 and not 5 stars is that the web os 3 isn't the quickest and it takes a bit longer to turn on than the Samsung but after the better picture, sound issue fixed and the way the movies play, being we watched a movie with a lot of dark scenes and one normal daylight/night scenes, it looked great, the blacks are fantastic for an edge lit tv and the contrast is amazing i will never go back to Samsung for a tv and was so glad I bought this. So with these two minor issues, at least minor to me, it was wll worth the trade. Try this tv. You won't be sorry.

Horrible light bleed around the edges especially in the corners. Returned it and went with the OLED E6.

The 65UH9500 of TV is very good.
In particular, when I watch a Blu-Ray / 4k DVD, I can feel that the color is good.
Also, I see the Netflix or AMAZON 4K movies, and I could feel the color of the film.
However, when you move the cursor while the Magic Remote control video viewing on Netflix playback screen is a bar appears to interfere with viewing.
Is there not be able to play bar display?

I hoped LGs top IPS panel before OLED would be a great tv, and save me money, but has room to improve.
Pros-3D/Blu-Ray/4k DVD/Streaming present a great picture
Web 3.0 is fun..zoom feature is cool but mostly enlarges a blurry image.
Split screen is fun but can live without.
Cons-cable image is seriously lacking. Unless input image is HD quality, most images are fuzzy. TV needs to be able to downscale as much as upscale.
-Lots of blurs
-HDR feature-seemed ineffective and provided lesser quality image.
I returned and now enjoy the 2015, 4k OLED 65 inch tv which is amazing.
