I got this TV to replace an 8 year old 55" Samsung 1080p LED TV. I would say it was a great upgrade. I paid $1700+ for that TV back in 2010. This TV I got for $650 after a pricematch to a local store. Amazing. What is even more amazing to me is that this LG TV is lighter than the 55". I guess it is related to better bezel technology haha. I wish the TV had 4 HDMI ports - it only comes with 3. I guess having the WebOS smart functionality reduces the need for a 4th device (e.g. a roku for Netflix) since Netflix is on the TV among other apps.
People complain about the stand since its plastic. I recommend getting a TV stand or mounting this TV. Eventually the TV size is just too top heavy for any stand. 70"? Forget it. Mount that immediately. 65" is hovering on too-big-for-a-stand zone.
The volume is good. The menus are a bit hard to get used to. I am still getting accustomed to them 2 weeks in. I am so accustomed to Samsung's easy-to-navigate menus. That's not to say they are bad, it is just different.
The major knock on this TV is of course the panel. LG went with an IPS panel, which, if you are viewing it from straight on, you should have no problem with viewing angle. It is possible that the viewing angle will be an issue if you are too far off center. The other issue is that the panel is "4k", not true 4k since the panel isn't RGB, it is the RGBW type (Red-Green-Blue-White). Of course you can't notice anything when you are sitting far away, but it is something to be aware of. And also there is no local dimming, which is something all the TV's are touting now. Local dimming is LED's answer to OLED's individual pixel control. OLED can turn off individual pixels allowing for deep blacks like plasmas (which of course dont exist on the market anymore). LED edge lighting causes a lot of bleeding (which I see on my Samsung UN55C6300). I haven't yet seen it on my LG, but it is a shame this LG tv doesn't have the local dimming - that is the result of it being the budget line. All that aside, the image quality is great and I don't regret the purchase for a second.
Overall great TV. I wouldn't pay more than $700 for it, though (only because there are better ones with RGB panels and local dimming.

Absolutely love this TV. Replaced a 4-year old pre-4k 50" model from another brand, so the difference in both size & picture quality were dramatic. Crystal clear picture, first & foremost (and most important). It is not as impressive as an OLED, but marginal and almost $2,000 less. It's easy to upsell yourself quickly when you're in the showroom and these TVs are side by side. In the end, so glad I didn't waste my money on a top-end model. This TV is just right for us. 65" in our modest-sized rectangular room is like a movie screen. Love the connectivity, as well. Easily connects to Netflix, Amazon, Sirius XM and whatever else you need. Blu Ray discs are stunning (Rogue One is a must). Also liked the extra USB port (we needed two; one for Fire Stick and another for light strips to go around the back of the TV). Excellent value. So much so, we opted for a lengthy Geek Squad warranty and still came in under $1,000 (with tax & out the door). We've only had this TV for a month, but barring any unforeseen issues, this review comes with a big thumbs up and high recommendation!

I've never had bad luck with LG televisions and that is still the case with this TV. Picture quality is amazing. The smart TV interface is responsive, feature packed and easy to use. My only complaint is I wish it had one more HDMI, but at least it has 3.

My family and I recently upgraded to this LG 65” TV from our older 55” Sony rear-projection TV. I am absolutely amazed at the clarity and color of this TV. It was easy to setup and works tremendously well with our Apple TV and new LG Blu-ray disk player. The only drawback is the number of inputs, but it wasn’t a deal breaker in the slightest. The best part was that Best Buy price matched the TV and I was able to save even more money. Great deal, great tv, super happy.

This TV is HUGE and very lightweight. Picture quality is impressive and it connects to Netflix without any issues. We love that you can download apps directly from their marketplace. You can sync your phone and play prerecorded videos on your TV. We watched a video from our dogs birthday celebration the next day at it was great!

The good: price point is great for overall quality and features including and bright screen, built in smart features and intuitive design. Settings easy to customize to preference and picture is clear and crisp.
The downsides: tv contrast is not great for bright rooms. if you are looking for a real sharp black contrast - this tv is probably not for you.
The overall: This tv is a win for overall quality and price if you are looking for a vivid screen that won’t break the bank.

I have had this set for a while now and I have no problem with it whatsoever! It has a superb picture, nice OS, it's thin and fairly light. The sound from the onboard speakers is actually not bad. Obviously you don't have much bass but that is to be expected if not using a surround system. I have been a big fan of Sony for years but I'm now leaning toward LG as my go to ; ) Good price for such a nice large TV.
I certainly recommend this product.

I went into Best Buy after researching some tv's online and thought I was going to pick up a Sharp brand 65" tv that was on sale between Christmas and New Years. I looked at the LG and thought it was a much better choice. The salesperson said that for the extra $20 (over the price of the Sharp) that it was a better TV. So I bought it. Love the TV so far. The wifi on it picks up real well and is very intuitive to use. Not to mention the picture is amazing. Also got the sound bar and a tilting TV wall mount. I mounted it myself that evening.

This TV has met my expectations overall. The picture is good quality but not the best I’ve seen. The sound is not bad but I added a sound bar for a better quality audio setup, the set up was very simple and paired with the tv easily. The apps and features work well and are quick to load. I am happy with the purchase for the price.

I am extremely pleased with this purchase. It is intended to be used in a photo studio for sales of portraits. I was able to change the settings so the tv reflected exactly what the computer screen looks like. This was an EASY process! ..... Additionally, I have it on my studio's wifi, so I can stream Netflix and Hulu when I have down time. The display looks excellent, remote is easy to use (has amazon and Netflix buttons) and it mounted to the wall with no issue as it is so light!
I would absolutely recommend this TV for streaming, gaming, or in my case, other! Especially for the price of this unit!

My husband had a 43" TV he watched at night, but I would often find him watching TV off his laptop. I came to realize that the TV was too far for him to see the guide and the picture was not that wonderful. I decided to surprise him with this LG 65" TV. He fell in love with it from the moment he turned it on. The picture is crisp. He even gets to watch Netflix with ease. I love that he can now watch TV and enjoy it.

We bought the TV because we wanted to experience 4K. Even knowing that ultra 4K is better we de used to start with a basic model. It exceeded our expectations! Great 4K image and easy to use smart tv.

Bought this over the holidays and it absolutely has a fantastic picture and is light enough that I can lift and maneuver (albeit carefully) it myself (6’2” 200lb guy).
The only disappointment about this model is the weak functionality with casting from my phone.
