Let me start by saying you wont find a better suporter of LG tvs out there then myself. Every tv ive ever owned is LG and they make the bestbin my opinion. Unfortunately this specific model (the 83 series) has the worst black contrast iver ever seen in my life. I previously had the series 80 and that had an unfortunate accident so i saw the 83 series and was like "why not upgrade a little bit?"..... There is so much bloom in the dark blacks it literally changes the color of everything on the edging which is really weird cause this is supposed to be a full array lit tv not an edge lit tv. The 80 series was edge lit and the blacks were sooooo much better than this..... I'm not sure if I just got a lemon or if this is how the tv was manufactured but either way when you can buy the oled version for $300 more this is unacceptable. My bottom line $400 LG UHD has better black contrast than this model which is 3x the cost.....shame too cause the picture overall is amazing i just cant get over how horrible the bloom is.... The pictures i attached show a screen that should be black....and in some places its literally yellow due to how much bloom comes through!

From the beginning it was not a good TV, now you can't see the black color at all. It wasn't some super cheap TV, regular price was $1499 on sale $999. I do not recommend LG. I have a Sony TV, and there is a huge difference. Will use the warranty. Changing the settings doesn't change anything like cinema, home cinema etc. I know what I'm doing, I know electronics and this TV, this version is terrible.Down in the middle is one big white light.

Bought this yesterday. There are pros and cons at least in my case so please read the whole review. Seems great for the most part. Great for gaming and input lag is quite low. Also... 120 hertz! Not after motion interpolation, but true native 120. Steam Link is NOT available for this TV at this time. I found a post on LGs website suggesting otherwise before purchasing but it was wrong. Picture quality is also stunning. When moving the mouse around on a hex black / "true black" background its easy to see that there are many, many local zones created by the mini LEDs and this works really well to increase contrast even in complex scenes. It looks like there is a new zone about every 1/2 to 3/4 inch based on my testing. Its not OLED but its really close and much better than regular panels that are a step under this. The processor upscales video very well. I can play old video filles from 3-10 years ago and it looks like something that could be streaming instead. Two of the HDMI ports are indeed 2.1 which is nice. Built in speakers are very surprising and capable. Bass extension is quite low and it fills the room. Spatial effects are natural and nice. Make no mistake this is an excellent quality TV as far as picture and sound are concerned. Here are where the cons start.... There are uniformity issues on my display. Not severe, but there are two vertical black "bars" that are just slightly dimmer than the rest of the display. Not at all apparent during normal varied viewing, and hard to see on a static bright background, but Very apparent in panning shots with uniform bright backgrounds, such as a shot of the sky or something. All LCD screens will suffer from this "dirty screen effect" to an extent and Its better than cheaper panels, but at this price its a little disappointing to see at all. This TV is currently on sale for $999 but at the regular asking price of $1699... really? Maybe I'm just ill informed. This is my first premium TV purchase. Maybe they all do that. The second con is weird technical glitches and no info at all regarding this TV online or through LG. When connected to my computer, HDR enables and disables by itself randomly, causing the modes to change. The Nvidia control panel sometimes cant recognize the dsplay at all. I have a recent high quality HDMI cable that works fine otherwise and a RTX 3070 driving it. Ive tried different ports and cables to no improvement. When i try to research the TV i get literally no results. Why does this model use an old a7 chip? Why am i having these tech issues? Is there a standard/spec mismatch im missing? No answers found. LG support couldn't even find the TV when I contacted them and suggested that i had the model number wrong (LOL, really?). At this time there is no product page for this TV. LG cant even consistently answer questions here on this product page with relevance. When people ask for specific tv info they provide highly generic answers. How does a manufacturer design and produce a TV yet have absolutely no info on it... Specifications and standards, or to troubleshoot? This is all at the time of this review ot course. Hopefully they get it together soon. But right now, I'm saving the box and will be returning at the end of the return window if i cant get any help with these random issues im experiencing. My advice: buy this TV. Especially if on sale. Its quite excellent especially for the money. But maybe wait until LG "discovers" this new species of TV they produced and actually releases some information on it first. Otherwise you may buy a TV without effectively understanding its actual specifications or standards, or be stuck with a TV that you cant effectively troubleshoot if something goes wrong since LG doesnt know anything about it. Hopefully by the time people read this, this con will be a non issue.

I purchased this QNED 83 series to replace my Hisense U7G and though it is an upgrade, I dont think its worth the asking price of $1600 let alone the sale price of $999. You really could get a LG C2 OLED for that price. My U7G has better HDR pop and more vibrant colors than this LG QNED tv. The only thing I can see that the LG does better is in the motion handling. My Hisense has major juddering issues in the fine details of things such as a panning shot thru a forest or a meadow and it drives me crazy. Thats why I purchased this LG QNED. Don’t get me wrong the LG is great. Very and I mean VERY bright. Color pops out. Contrast could be better but I do like it. My only issues with the tv is the blooming, operating system, the viewing angles and the remote. This tv is super bright so you will get your blooming around all subtitles and or anything bright with a dark background. It isn’t sooo bad to where I want to return the tv but it’s more noticeable than my Hisense tv. Also, the remote is just straight trash. Very buggy and slow to respond to your clicks. No stop/play, pause, rewind or fast forward button. You can’t turn permanently off the cursor that you control with your remote. The operating system. Geez. They need to get away from WebOs and just switch over to googles or androids operating system. Too many buttons to get into the picture settings. Slow to respond. Just horrible. Finally the viewing angles. If you’re watching straight on then you’ll have just about the best tv ever. It’s just when you get to about 30-45 degrees you’ll notice a major, and I mean major lost in color and contrast. You’ll see the blooming/halo effect on all objects. I’ve read all the reviews on this tv so far and it seems to be consistent with mine so if you’re really considering this tv please know that the reviews are 100% true, just like mine.

    OLED comparison

I have the C1 and was planning on picking up another, but went this route. The picture angles are better than expected, but not like the C1 OLED. If you have over 45 degree angles I recommend the OLED, but I don't expect many have that type of angle seating. Picture is better than expected and my biggest surprise. Now the OLED is better, but this definitely an upgrade to the cheap $600 65inch Edge Lit LEDs by a long shot. The Full Array shines with uniform LEDs throughout. Unlike the edge lit with the nasty corners. Blacks look pretty darn good, but it's not an OLED. Glare is decent, but the Samsung 90 and LG C1 are slightly better in bright rooms with a bunch of windows. Webos 6 is setup slightly different from the C1 and took a bit to get used to. Not bad at all. Remote is built better than the C1, so that's an upgrade. Price - If you can get this at the $999 price it's worth it. At $1700 regular I can not recommend this or any non OLED in that price range. Again at $999 it's great. Sound setup I have is SONOS and it works as expected. The internal speaker I tested and it's actually better than the C1 but highly recommend a sound system. Macbook casting is stable. Processor performance is sluggish to me. I'd say that's the biggest negative. I'd compare it to the Sony x950h.

Great tv. Fair warning, it’s BRIGHT. Other than that the colors and blacks are amazing. Easy to use. Only thing I don’t like is the pointer remote. That “feature” is pretty much useless. Thankfully once it’s activated it immediately turns off when your press a directional button. Overall great tv.

Mine has no visible issues. I got the this at BBY’s $899 sale price. It absolutely smokes the 80 model, which was essentially the same price at the time. I’d say the 75” was even a better deal, and I’m sorry I missed that one. Yes, I’ve seen the C1/C2, et al, and Hisense/TCL’s, etc. LG has my loyalty; they are a rigorous manufacturer. This has a very snappy processor, excellent color/contrast/brightness control. It plays extremely well with ROKU. It’s a no-brainer for a great picture into the next few years.

I bought this TV as an upgrade for my Xbox series X. It does 120fps, The colors and the blacks are stunning compared to my five-year-old LG 65 inch that it replaced. No, it is not an OLED, but it is darn close for less than half the cost. I highly suggest this purchase.

Very good picture. Even black colors come through good. Magic remote is cool but stopped working in the first week. Contacted LG support and they shipped a new one quickly. Handling instructions: TV box cannot lay flat while in the box per instructions from LG & BestBuy due to risk of screen breaking. Not sure if all new think TVs are like this or not. Conflict with the Vizio soundbar with the ARC HDMI port and the Nintendo switch connected in a normal HDMI port (no sound from sound bar).

I highly recommend this TV if you want a very good 4K micro LED TV. I have a older LG 4K TV, which is still awesome but I wanted to add something different in my living room. The remote first of all is very easy to use. The settings and menus are easy to figure out once you go through them. I use the Settings already set up for the picture mode because I am not good at calibrating the TV and to me They are very good. I also have my gaming consuls hooked up to the TV and they look great and yes there is a gaming mode in the menu that you can use to set up the way you want for your PlayStation five, Xbox series X, or whatever gaming console you want to hook up. I highly recommend people getting a sound bar as the sound is not the greatest with the speakers alone. Again, I like the TV very much and it’s very easy with my vision of my eyes, which are not the greatest, so if you’re looking for a lower cost 4K TV from a respectable brand that I highly recommend this TV.

What a great find. We purchased this temporarily while we tried to get our OLED screen if the same size fixed. It was shot, apparently when our A/V receiver died it took the TV with it. What we loved is we paid half the cost of the OLED and the picture was as good or better than our C2 it replaced. Don’t get me wrong, the C2 from LG was a gorgeous picture, but for the cost savings and almost imperceptible reduction in quality if any, this is a wonderful unit! It syncs well with our new receiver and cable box. I can generally either use my Apple TV or cable remote to operate prime functions. But the picture! It is crisp, clear, viewable from almost any angle and it is gorgeous. The contrast is great and the blacks are black. We loved our OLED but until they are more stable, this is a terrific option.

Picture quality is amazing. Colors and clarity are the best I've ever owned. This LG was was a replacement for a TCL that was highly rated but failed after 18 months. The picture is far superior. The only thing keeping me giving it 5 stars is the remote. I don't like the cursor and the the volume control is difficult to find in a dark room.

Let me start by saying that I’ve owned LG TVs in the past and have always been satisfied however, when first looking at this TV I was skeptical, because there were no outside reviews of it other than Best Buy, due to it being an exclusive Best Buy TV. However, I will say, this TV puts out a phenomenal picture that is extraordinary, clear, crisp, and bright. With this unit having Dolby Vision as well as HDR, it makes for a great movie viewing. My TV is placed in a bright setting and the LED lights make it for a perfect bright picture. However, even in dark settings, the picture is still amazing. I cannot speak for the sound for I have a sound bar hooked up to it, but will say you will not be disappointed if you do purchase this TV.

Was rearranging living room and decided to upgrade our television and landed on this gem when it was on sale. Has a very beautiful picture especially in UHD. Was easy to set up and dig into pir favorite movies snd shows. Set up the LG surround and sound bar and still not sure we are on the correct configuration. That the only down fall is the sound set up isnt explained a lot especially using dolby atmos. Will do more research and trial on the sound. For the picture quality it is amazing. Ha ent connected the PS4 to it for gaming as of yet. Im sure that will be just great. Definitely a good buy when on sale. Woildnt pay the full price on it tho. I would go oled for that much. I didnt get oled because of the picture burn in rumors and this was cloaest picture to an oled I found. Id recommend this tv.

This tv looks amazing. Crystal clear image from the start. With little adjust it's even better. The slim design is good but hard to hang on the wall while trying to manage the cables. Playing my PS5 on this tv unbelievably awesome. Graphics are extremely sharp and vibrant. Highly recommend this tv, especially if you're on a budget but want a great cinematic experience. FYI, if you hook up a sound bar, use the optic cable as the sound is so much more clearer
