I've been a gamer for over 30 years and made the expensive leap from led to oled and it's worth it, kinda'. Yes, the contrast is amazing, so the blacks are insane and the colors are soo gorgeous due to that. It's a plasma on steroids without the weight, heat or burn-in (supposedly...). I've had it for a little while and it still wows me. 4k, hdr, 1080p, non hdr, sdr, video games, movies, doesn't matter, everything looks it's best. However, this tv needs a lot of adjustments out of the box before you can get there. It has a very dark and bland picture until you really get into the menus and start tweaking. This is a screen for nerds, so be prepared to spend some time and then some more time until you get it dialed in just right. Viewing angles are amazing, reflection handling is pretty ok, but man, this thing does very poorly if there's more than just a little light in the room. I have 2 little zelda led light ups in the room and led backlighting on the tv itself. That's it. If I turn on the 60 watt light, the magic is gone. Also, I'm very disappointed in the banding not only on series x, but on streaming services as well. I sometimes think that maybe I should've got a qled instead, but then I see my 2 year old 4k samsung in the other room with all the greys and I'm like, "nah, I'm good, I'll go sit in the dark".

Finally pulled the trigger on purchasing this amazing display, after researching and sleeping on the thought for what seemed like forever. It arrived and I was absolutely in love with everything about it. The picture quality was incredible. The UI was quick and simple to use. Even my wife said, "I feel like I can't watch anything on our old TV after this. The clarity on this TV makes our old TV seem... Off."
I owned the TV for over a year. Mostly playing video games, streaming TV, and watching the occasional movie. But strangely after probably a year and a half, I started getting horizontal stripes in the picture on my screen. At first it wasn't super noticable and I thought it was part of a game menu, but eventually I realized it was something with the display.
I should've reached out to LG immediately, but unfortunately I put it off for a few months. During that time the problem actually went away, but then shortly after, came back. After it returned, I decided I'd reach out to LG customer service about the issue. Unfortunately, I was a few months over the 2 year warranty, but I didn't have very many hours logged on the display so, I hoped perhaps they would consider looking into the issue.
At first, after sending them multiple pictures of the display, they claimed they couldn't see any issues. Then eventually they claimed they could but I was outside of warranty so there was nothing they could do to help. I was unfortunately, pretty bummed out about this news, but even more so when the display fully went out randomly one day while I was watching TV. I reached out to customer service again to let them know that the display had completely gone out now, to which they reiterated that they could do nothing to help, but offered to help me find a repair service near me if I wanted to look into it. I decided that would not be very worth my time or money, as the display costs nearly as much as the whole TV.
Needless to say, having spent so much on a TV, for it to be completely dead shortly after the warranty ended was very disappointing. I took great care with the television, and always made sure to turn it off to avoid the risk of any burn-in despite hearing that it really isn't such a concern on OLED screens nowadays. I really hoped I would get more longevity out of such an expensive television. My old television is now about 13 years old, has been knocked off the TV stand by my cat, landing flat on the screen and still works to this day. However, this TV didn't make it 2 years without issue, and was completely dead just a few months later, all while literally mounted on the wall. I don't think I expected the same longevity, but certainly more than just past the warranty period. So, while I loved the TV for the time I had it, I just feel it's worth really considering the cost alongside how long you expect it to last. It's possible my TV was just an unfortunate case, but it's still a good thing to consider when making a larger purchase.

I did alot of research before buying this tv. I had to check the boxes.
Excellent picture and contrast.
LG tv has an extra 334 channels.
Multiple HDMI ports.
EArc HDMU Port to connect with my receiver. (Auto setup!)
Can be mounted on the wall or set on a media center without tipping over.
Modern tuner. Mine actually grabbed extra free cable channel channels from my providers satellite.
The picture on this tv is stunning. It has 120hz compared to most tv's 60hz speed.
It may cost alot more than led but you do get what you pay for. I'm going to have this for a long while so get the best technology available. This is lightyears ahead of my old tv. It had an extra yellow pixel that made the color better. This one blows it away.
If you are looking at oled this one won't disappoint, that is if you can find one. My store had 2. There were people there that bought one and I got the other.

I had a plasma Samsung 58" tv that I loved. It still works great, but my husband (and secretly myself) wanted to upgrade to a 4K smart tv. I have always loved the picture of the LG OLEDs and when we saw the incredible open box deal on the 65" Class C1, we couldn't refuse. The salesman said the previous owner bought the tv and returned it the same day due to the size. It was too big for his wall. We got an extra % off the open box price and couldn't believe our good luck.
The picture is incredible-the blacks are so deep, and the colors so vibrant. The refresh rate is great; no stuttering with fast paced sports such as hockey. Movies look awesome, and the streaming ability surpasses what we were doing with our PS4 and Xbox 1.
Our plasma has moved upstairs, for a deserved break from our every day tv, and we now use this tv for the majority of our tv viewing. This is a wonderful tv, and as I said in the title, worth the wait!

Went from the Samsung Q90t to the LG CX and was happy since the Q90 was nice but I had horrible picture problems when gaming and saw parallel lines on bright screens. The CX was good but it was my first OLED and had very grainy picture when streaming shows and it wasn't my internet connection. The C1 just came out within my return date for the CX so I obviously wanted the new gen 4 picture processor. It's way better in my opinion but lacks brightness from the CX by a bit I think..im happy tho. It's amazing gaming with my PS5 and Series X! :) so honestly for anyone just looking for gaming It's perfect and someone for movies and shows it's still awesome. I'm happy with OLED and was scared of the burn in but samsung hasn't been making me happy since my 2015 Ks8000 series I think it was. They are bright sure, but whats the point when the blacks are so distorted and ugly and only have 1 [2.1 HDMI port] just don't be a fanboy in my opinion and whatever makes u happy go for it. But I am amazed with the colors and picture of OLED, just wish it was a tad brighter. Whatevs.

This is my third OLED TV. I've had the C6, the C8, and now the C1. This, as it should be, is the best OLED I've had. It's great for gaming and I can't wait to be able to put G-Sync and 120Hz frame rate through its paces. The new WebOS is better than previous generations, but it still lacking a few must-have apps. It also seems a tad slower. My only real gripe is that I wish it handled 720p and 1080p content a little better. Upscaling is good, don't get me wrong, but it just seems to be the only thing that I haven't noticed an improvement on over past versions of the LG C series. Overall a great TV and a worthy upgrade if you are coming from the C8 or older.

Beautiful TV. I was going to buy the 55" version based primarily on price but I said "what the heck", I plan on having this TV for quite a while so "go big". It taskes a while to get used to the remote and the menu and where everything is but not a big deal.
I am having a problem with buffering but after some self diagnosis (what network/app/shows I am watching) and a visit from the Geek Squad we narrowed the problem down to Hulu TV Live. What's odd is that it doesn't buffer while watching Hulu movies, just live TV (including reruns of old shows). I spent 75 minutes on the phone with Tech Support with Hulu and they tried a number of things but it was not eliminated. There is an open ticket, and for the time being I am living with the problem.
Otherwise, the picture is great. Can't tell you about the stand alone sound as I have a surround system.

The picture is just magnificent, and the sound is surprisingly clear for such an exceptionally thin form factor. I was watching Big Bang Theory on a local channel the other night and realized that I could read the individual titles on the books lining the bookshelf in the background! Then I found an episode of Blue Planet and almost cried tears of joy!
Growing up as a child of the 70's and having to deal with a bad set of rabbit ear antenae and reception that was just slightly better than looking through a glass smeared with Vaseline, it is scarcely believable that a television picture can be this clear. It does seem to be on the borderline of miraculous. All that being said, the one thing that takes away from such a beautiful piece of technology is the very clunky, unorganized and poorly-executed home page for the WebOS. I have no idea what LG was thinking when they put all that stuff on the home page that clutters up what could be a very attractive user interface. Fortunately, I have learned how to skirt around using the home screen and can get to 99% of the functionality I need for everyday use without needing to deal with it. Still, for the price paid, and the fact that LG seems to be quite proud of their proprietary WebOS platform, I feel that it's enough of a miss to take away the 5th star that would otherwise be a no-brainer for an excellent rating. If LG would simply give the end-user the ability to edit the entire screen and remove the apps that are of no interest to them, it would go a long way to fixing the problem.
The clunky WebOS platform notwithstanding, I would not hesitate advising anyone with the means to get one of these sets. They are truly magnificent pieces of tech, and no doubt worth every penny.

Upgraded from a 55” 2012 LG passive 3D tv. that old TV has a nice picture for the time plus pretty cool to be able to use theater 3D glasses.
I’ve seen OLEDs at the stores. I could tell they were nice and planned as my next upgrade. Nothing prepared me for this TV in a dark room at home. Holy crap!
Then I played some video games. I never realized how bad the delay was on my old tv (50-60ms). I’m twice the gamer I thought I was. I just thought I sucked at gaming. This TV has something like less than a frame of delay at 60hz.
Did research compared to the current model (C2), and based off sale price, decided this was the one for me. I liked it so much and the sale was so good, I bought a second one for a future dedicated gaming room.

The LG C1 has been everything that I was expecting, it truly has good colors. However, it is worth noting that not all OLED panels are perfect, regardless of which manufacturer you buy from. When I ran some grey uniformity tests the TV did have some slight banding around the top and the edges. It's worth noting though that in regular content this banding was not noticeable. Another thing is, that while the speakers on the TV are serviceable for most content, they're not the best on their own. Lastly, everything that's been said about webOS is true, the operating system can be a bit sluggish. However, this is nothing that an Amazon stick can't fix. Overall the experience has been smooth for the time I've owned it.

I've had this TV for about a month now and it is fantastic. It has excellent professional reviews, so I knew it would be great. My only hesitation was that the room the TV is in is pretty bright (double french doors with nothing to cover them and a 6ft wide large window). I took a chance and am happy to report that it is plenty bright enough for our room, even in the middle of a bright sunny day! This is with the brighness set at 60%! The WEBOS is easy to use. I used Roku for many years but with the ease of use of the built in WEBOS, the only thing I need Roku for is the AMC app (free version) which is not available on WEBOS. I can't comment on the TV sound because I have it hooked up to a LG soundbar. I also like the Magic Remote. Using the cursor on screen is quicker and easier than the Roku remote I am used to, and it has voice control, like Roku. Finally, I love how thin this TV is...it looks great on our wall.

I'm accustomed to being disappointed with technology. My expectations are high, and manufacturers usually fall short (except Apple). So when my 5-year-old 4K TV started acting up (probably a power supply issue) I went shopping for a new one. I could not believe how thin the OLED's were and how crisp, bright, and even the picture. You know how when the screen on standard LED is "black" but you can still still light around the edges, there is NONE of that with this thing. Once I had it set up in my living room, I was BLOWN AWAY. I was skeptical, especially for the price, but now the only disappointment I have is that I didn't go bigger. It's totally worth it. Also the sound from this thing is way beyond anything I ever imagined you could get from built-in speakers. (I actually stopped using my Bose sound bar!) Watch content in Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos sound and you will never go back.

This LG replaces my very old 50" Pioneer plasma that I loved more than anything - the blacks were dark as night, and the contrast was impeccable. It also cost me $5,000 back in 2009. I did a lot of research before committing to this LG, which received universal praise for its picture quality sounding as good as my old Pioneer - I'm pleased to report the reviews are correct, this TV is great and very easy to use. If you notice the "soap opera" effect when watching, then go into the controls and turn off all the motion enhancement technology - voila. The "magic" remote is hit or miss, I tend to turn off the roaming cursor. I was so happy with this tv, I just bought the 55" model for my bedroom that is being delivered next week. I also recommend getting a sound bar - the built-in speakers are kinda quiet, but that's typical.

I really wanted to get an OLED TV for quite some time but I kept putting it out. Finally I decided to pull the trigger and I had it come down to a Sony or the LG.
I am more familiar with LG because my current TV prior to the OLED was an LG, and I prefer the interface to other TVs I have owned but I also don't use the TV apps to be honest, I use other streaming devices for that.
I think the quality is perfect, the picture is clear and beautiful and I have no real complaints about it. I find it bright enough and I don't really hvae any blooming on darker shows that I was getting with my other TV which is nice, especially for watching movies or shows that tend to be darker. Now I can actually feel like I see what's going on.
Sound quality is average for a TV in my opinion, I have it hooked up to my sound system for better quality.

Coming from a very buggy Vizio Quantim P-Series all I can say is im so glad I took it back and got this set it’s incredible. Only issue which isnt too big if a deal is this tv is supposed to turn on last hdmi port I used but alwaus turns on to HDMI-4/Nvidia Shield but I guess I can live with that.
