Excellent TV, good price, the image colors are good

Picture is great…….when it is working. We had it professionally installed after the geek squad did the original installation. The TV would go to sleep and turn itself off at 15 minute intervals for several hours. That has not happened lately. The TV will also go to a blank screen for a couple seconds and return, and also go to a landscape scene on occasion. Best Buy tech service was no help. Disappointed to say the least. Spend $1500 for a TV and won’t even send out a service tech without a service fee? What a lack of customer service!
Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG TV (OLED65C5PUA) model. We understand the importance of having a TV that performs consistently, especially when you’ve invested in a premium OLED model.
One helpful step is to check the Power Saving and Screen Saver settings in the All Settings > Support > OLED Care > Device Self‑Care menu. Features like Auto Power Off, Screen Saver, or AI Service options can sometimes trigger unexpected screen changes or brief blackouts if enabled. You can also try reseating or replacing the HDMI cable, as a loose or faulty connection may cause momentary signal drops. Frustrating OS!!!

Partially defective. Firmware is giving me headaches since new trying to get it working. The physical components seem to work except for failing to retain settings or ignoring some settings. Unable to use the TV or Network functions so instead using an old (but working) independent tuner with decent results. Maybe I will try to update the OS to a newer version when it comes out in hopes it corrects the problems. I have attempted to do a complete system reset and firmware reload several times but the problems persist. This LG is basically being used as a computer monitor now. No TV or web functions. It IS great in that monitor role.
Hi there, Estonia. We understand your inquiry regarding the LG - 65" Class C5 Series OLED evo AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV. We appreciate you sharing your experience and the steps you've already taken, including the system reset and firmware reload. We understand that the TV is currently not meeting your expectations regarding the webOS and network functions.
A simple step that can sometimes resolve issues with retained settings is to perform a power cycle.
Basic Troubleshooting Step:
Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for at least 60 seconds.
While the TV is unplugged, press and hold the power button on the TV itself for 30 seconds (this helps drain any residual power).
Plug the TV back in and turn it on to see if your settings are retained. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-65-class-c5-series-oled-evo-ai-4k-uhd-smart-webos-tv-2025/JJ8VPZTRG6 If the issue persists, we want to look into this further, especially since you are still experiencing trouble after a factory reset and firmware reload. For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport. We appreciate your patience as we work to get this fully resolved for you. —Renzo

I returned the first one of these which I paid for installation. The colors in many instances had "blotches" on the face of individuals. Sometimes bright red and sometimes green. My son who has a Masters in Optical Engineering was able to adjust some of the issues but not all. I asked for and had a second installed yesterday. Unfortunately it has the same issue. I asked for he geek squad to come fix and have an appointment on the 12th of November (the first available). Buyer beware of this product in you watch a lot. It will drive you nuts.
Hi, William. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG TV (OLED65C5PUA) model. We understand investing in a premium TV and encounter persistent display issues, especially after multiple replacements and adjustments.
The blotchy color artifacts you're describing — especially on faces — may be related to color banding or tone mapping inconsistencies, which can sometimes occur with certain content sources or settings. Disable Noise Reduction and TruMotion: These features can sometimes introduce unwanted artifacts. Go to Settings > Picture > Picture Options and turn off Noise Reduction, MPEG Noise Reduction, and TruMotion. Great tv, nice image, was not a fan of the magic remote. Remote impossible to use with tv provider.

However, we understand that using the Magic Remote with your TV provider can be a bit tricky, and we’d love to help make it easier. To improve compatibility, we recommend checking if your TV provider's set-top box supports universal remote pairing. I purchased this TV in August 2025. The picture looked great and the sound was OK. In January of 2026 the picture started flickering black. I opened several apps and it was the same each time. I turned it off and on and the picture never came back. I can still hear sound. I have the technology membership. Best Buy said it was still under factory warranty and referred me to LG. LG said they do not have a technician in my area despite living in a major US city, and they would contact me in 7 to 10 days. Best Buy refused to let me exchange or return it. Pathetic overall from Best Buy, the membership program, and LG.
Hi, Gerard. Thank you for reaching out and sharing what happened with your LG TV (OLED65C5PUA) model. We understand the importance of having a TV that performs reliably, especially when it’s only a few months old and you’re experiencing a black screen with audio still playing. One helpful step you can try is a power reset, which can sometimes restore picture output if the TV’s internal boards are not initializing correctly. To do this, unplug the TV for about 5 minutes, then plug it back in and power it on again. For more guidance, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-tv-troubleshooting-a-tv-with-sound-but-no-picture--1380902746888. Disappointed

The tv screen has several very shallow 2” diameter dents in it. You can’t really see them when the tv is on. However, you can see them on the black screen when the tv is off in my bright sunlit room. They seem to be symmetrical so I am assuming they happened in the manufacturing process. The tv was packed nicely and the box was not damaged.
Hi, Rick. Thank you for sharing the details about your LG TV (OLED65C5PUA) model. We appreciate the careful observations you’ve made regarding the shallow dents on the screen.
For an initial step, we recommend performing a panel test using the built-in screen test feature. This will help confirm whether the marks are affecting picture quality or if they are only visible when the TV is off. You can access this by going to: Settings > All Settings > Support > Screen Self-diagnosis.
If the dents do not impact the display during operation, the TV should continue to function normally. For more information on care and maintenance of OLED panels, you can visit our official LG support page here: https://www.lg.com/us/support. If you’d like us to review this further, please send us an email at [email protected] so we can assist you directly. ^Juvy

the picture was great for the 3 hours the TV worked. It is being exchanged this Sat. I’m hopeful this one will work for a long time and then give a favorable review.
Hi, Jeff. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG TV (OLED65C5PUA) model. We’re glad to hear the picture quality impressed you, even if only briefly. We understand how important it is for your new TV to deliver consistent performance, and we’re hopeful the replacement will meet your expectations. We're committed to providing reliable, high-quality products for a smooth experience.
If you encounter a similar issue, try a power cycle by unplugging the TV for 60 seconds before plugging it back in. This can reset some components and fix temporary glitches. Also, ensure the TV is plugged directly into a working outlet, as surge protectors can affect power delivery.
