Purchased 2/5/19 and precisely 13 months later a faint dark horizontal line appeared on lower 1/4 of panel. LG doesn't cover and won’t do anything! Horrible - purchased it all: oled tv, bluray, sound bar, rear speakers! Will never buy another LG product. Simply aghast after spending $3.5k on tv alone!

Highest rated tv for 2018 for a good reason. OLED shows the purest black and deepest contrast than any other tv. A magnificent tv to watch anything in a dark or bright room. The tv sound is excellent and the remote is easy to use and intuitive. The tv upscales everything for a quality picture. 720p or Standard Definition (SD) isn't the best thing to watch on this powerful tv when upscaled. The picture flaws of 720p really show up on the screen. OLED doesnt have magical abilities to improve such inferior video resolution. However, 1080p looks almost as good as 4K! The sound on this tv is so good you might not consider a soundbar or surround system.

I've had this 65" TV for about 2 years now and am still amazed by its picture quality on a daily basis. My wife and I frequently comment on how good everything looks on it and guests always comment on how amazing it looks as well. Upscaled standard definition DVDs look really good. 1080p blu-rays look great. 4K blu-rays look stunning. I recently paired this with a Panasonic DP-UB9000 4K blu-ray player after initially having it connected to an average Samsung UBD-K8500 and all disc content looks leagues better than I thought possible. It's legitimately breathtaking at times. If you buy this TV or another in its family, do yourself a favor and connect it to a high-quality 4K blu-ray player. The picture quality really is amazing in all ways. Blacks are unmatched due to the OLED tech, colors pop with HDR, and movement is handled extremely well without any blur thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate. As with all modern TVs, the speakers aren't good. But we have a 7.2 Klipsch surround sound system connected via the Onkyo TX-NR676 receiver to compensate. If you're buying a TV of this level, you need to do it justice and get at least a soundbar with a subwoofer. The app store is adequate and has most streaming apps you'll need. The biggest absence is HBO Max, but that is still a newer one. It might get added later with an update. But we use Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, YouTube, and Disney+ directly from the TV. The only negative I can think of with this TV is its ability to hold a strong wifi connection. It seems weaker than the attached blu-ray player's, Xbox One's, and PS4's. It's not bad most of the time, but there are reliability/consistency issues which become annoying at times with buffering. To conclude, this is BY FAR the best TV I've ever owned, and I've had quite a few. The picture quality is stunning. When it's paired with an incredible 4K blu-ray player and surround sound, it's about as good of an in-home viewing experience as you can get. Please do yourself a favor if you buy this and use 4K discs instead of only streaming. Streaming looks great, but viewing content straight from 4K discs is on another level since there's no data loss with discs like with streaming. 2 years later and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I'm still excited to use it as often as I can. That says a lot.

I've owned this TV now for seven months. I've waited to post a review while testing different TV media features, streaming services, and modifying different settings. First of all, I subscribe to Dish. The Dish 4K programming is very limited so changing the settings on this TV to Cinema or HDR Light is best for this type of broadcasting. This TV will not reach its viewing potential with Dish for sure. Now, for my streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Vudu.... now this is where this TV shines! Watching movies and videos that broadcast in Dolby Digital and HDR is a game changer; it's basically the main reason for buying this TV. While watching these services you can rest assure that the image quality you saw at the store will also be in your living room. Depending on your viewing light settings and/or day-night time, you can modify the viewing settings for these streaming services but the ones I found best is Cinema for dark or night time viewing, and HDR Medium for daytime or bright surrounding settings. The Vivid setting is recommended for extreme detail in colors and should be used while you have the blinds open and natural light coming into your TV viewing area. The same settings apply while watching movies on your 4K player. If you own digital copies of you 4k movies, the best picture quality is via Vudu instead of your 4k player. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this TV. Since it's so expensive I recommend you purchase the 5 year extended warranty. You want some peace of mind for the next 5 years with this type of TV. If there is any negative I have to say about my experience is that you may find yourself changing the TV viewing settings quite often due to the different viewing quality options from broadcaters. In summary, viewing quality is amazing. Colors are vibrant and blacks are true black and not shady that eventually turn into pixel grays. Also, I recommend a sound bar or some type of external audio to supplement your viewing pleasure. I own a Bose Series iii system and the sound is amazing via Dolby Atmos and PCM.

We finally decided to upgrade to 4K after 9 years with our mostly trusted Samsung 3D tv. One of my biggest complaints with the 9 year old Samsung was the lack of any real black so going forward that was big on my list. The old tv lacked the clarity of 4K, no full color spectrum and certainly was missing the smart tv functions, we needed an upgrade. After searching and reviewing TVs for a few weeks and even visiting Best Buy several times we decided on a Vizio 65 inch E model. For the price it is an excellent choice, where the tv failed was upscaling and motion so we took it back after 10 days. Next up, we tried the Samsung 65 inch Q6. I still ponder why that tv reviews so high or possibly we had a bad panel but our 50 inch LG 6500 model tv was better in every way at a fraction of the cost. Back it went. The Sony X900F and the LG oleds had always been at the top of our list but like any cheapskate I followed the reviews that led with cost and performance not performance at any cost. Although it was a close call between the two TVs we ultimately purchased the LG C8. The perfect blacks are more breath taking at home than in the showroom, we felt at home with the smart functions as they are identical to our bedroom LG. The colors, the contrast and the clarity are more than amazing. The cat sits watching the tv all the time she apparently is also amazed at the picture quality. Upscaling is very good, quite amazing actually. We find ourselves rewatching older movies all the time and I keep hearing myself muttering about how great the display looks. If you are on the fence about this tv don’t be, it amazes me whenever I watch it, no halos, no gray screen effect, no color banding issues and even when it’s turned off it looks gorgeous. Oh let’s not forget that magic remote, fits in your hand so comfortably and the pointer is pretty fun to use. The voice commands through the remote are so fast and easy to use it’s just icing on the cake. The only question you’ll have to ask after purchasing this tv is do you need another for somewhere else in the house.

My 50' Samsung Plasma gave up the ghost. Been wanting an OLED since they came out, but the prices were out of reach! Saw this on sale the 2nd week of March for $1949.99! One please! This is the best TV I have ever had! The detail and clarity can not be beat! I followed the picture settings on RTINGS.COM and the picture got even better! I've had this set for about 2 months now and just smile every time I turn it on. I am running it through an ATMOS receiver with a speaker set up of 5.2.4. It is awesome! Pitch blacks! I love the little things like the art gallery and the 4K demos. I have DTV and upgraded to the 4 4K channels. I took a picture of the Masters on my IPhone, posted it to Facebook and it was so clear that I could actually tag the people at Augusta from the picture! Plan on getting a 4K Ultra BluRay player for more 4K content. The 2019 models are out now so you should be able to find a similar price I got. Not much difference in the C8 and the C9. I did get the Geek Squad warranty just in case of burn-in for 5 years. Haven't seen any so far, but the possibility is there. I love it!

The picture quality is outstanding. Look no further for a better tv. IF you are worried about burn in of static images. It only happens in EXTREME cases, I researched OLED for months before I made the decision to buy. LG has anti image retention tools built in. If that's not enough the LG magic remote has a zoom feature. You can literally roll the rocker wheel right past the station logo or news crawl . It's a brilliant tool . This TV is at its best with HDR content. SO MAKE SURE you have the format support to get the most out of this tv. The only CON of this TV is how delicate it is. You have to be very very careful following the set up video instructions Best Buy sends you is a big help. But its was very stressful for me with a helper my size to handle a $3000,00 TV with a nearly razor thin display. Clear your work space and carefully pay attention where you put your hands as you lift it, Also installing the tv stand is easy until you screw it up and have to lay the tv down again to reinstall ,Follow the directions !!! This tv isn't very heavy but its very fragile and awkward to handle. But once you have it installed. You won't believe the depths of dark color's, the inky almost cartoon rich color makes anything 4K HDR look like its actually happening in front of you. Immersive ! Even with a bad movie , you'll watch longer.

I currently own 2 Samsung 4K TVs, 55 and a 60 inch. I spent way more time then I should’ve researching all of the best options out there right now. I finally decided on the 65 C8. When I got this tv, I was entirely impressed with everything iv watched on it. All my blu rays look like 4K content and it just gets better. I have absolutely no regrets on my purchase after re watching some of my favorite movies and binging shows. I’m using my 60 inch for gaming so I won’t have to worry about burn in but I did purchase Best Buy’s warranty which really sealed the deal for me buying this tv. I have this in my dedicated movie room downstairs which is inherently dark but it is crazy bright because of the contrast. The user interface is amazing and easy to use ( I love the pointer) if you really want a quality tv with amazing picture, you just can’t beat this. Games are amazing on this too though when I do feel like playing on it! Hands down best tv I have ever owned, quality from the design to the picture! I’m not paid I’m just super happy to have this tv.

The best picture quality hands down! Perfect blacks, you sometimes wonder if the TV turned off when programs switch between scenes. Has all HDR formats. The set is ultra thin and very stylish. This replaces my 65 inch B6 which was replaced (Warrenty) because of burn in. This set has better safeguards to prevent it.

I recently purchased the 65" LG OLED TV and it is awesome. The picture is incredible and the setup is easy to use. The Smart TV system is so good that I find myself no longer watching Direct TV and may be cutting the cord soon. I had Geek Squad install a complete home entertainment system and could not be happier. The techs were beyond awesome and everything they did was professional and well explained. They pointed out efficiencies in my current home theater set up (which I knew were bad, so they were not gouging me to make more money) and recommended solutions to fix the problems. I was even able to compare prices on line so I knew their suggestions were at the lowest price). Finally, I had read about the burn in problem with OLEDs before I bought the TV. Best Buy's extended warranty covers burn in, so you are protected. I state this even as I have had no problem so far with this issue. It is just another method to gain piece of mind with this expensive, but incredible TV. If you love high quality TVs, spend the extra money and get the OLED. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve had this TV for about a month now and have gotten a thorough chance to use it. First impressions were what I expected...amazing! The C8 comes with great settings right out of the box with the most notable being ISF and Technicolor. These settings are pretty good without needing to do anything other than removing clear motion and power saving. Clear motion induces soap opera effect and makes things look weird. If you’re going to mount (recommended), it takes two people. The TV is really thin and LG has packed great instructions regarding how to handle the TV. I can’t comment on sound quality as I have had it paired with a soundbar since day 1. Let’s be realistic though, the thinner the TV is the worse the sound gets. I recommend the SK10y. However, unless you mount the TV, the soundbar cannot sit directly below the TV due to clearance between the bottom of the TV and bottom of the stand. The only other option is an entertainment stand with a soundbar shelf. Make sure the width of the shelf accommodates this behemoth. :) No issues with burn in (there are settings to reduce and also fix). Banding happens on very few TVs unlike the 2017s which had a higher frequency of banding. Amazing picture! To get Atmos through to a soundbar, utilize the ARC function. Pros: Dolby Vision, HDR, Dolby Atmos, HDCP 2.2, HDMI 2.0, four HDMI inputs, Optical out, ARC, aesthetics Cons: I don’t have any personally! :) I highly recommend this TV! You won’t be disappointed!

Let me start by saying this isn't one of those 7 paragraph reviews, written by someone with a doctorate in quantum physics. Although, those reviews helped me make my choice for a replacement tv. We went from a 9 year old 55" Samsung LCD, to the 65" LG OLED C8. Jaw dropping would be an understatement. The picture is simply amazing. The color, detail, and blacks, make it look like you can climb into the screen, and join whatever you're watching. The sound from the set is impressive, but we'll be using our existing surround sound. You would think we went from a black & white set with dial controls, to a color set with a remote. It is that good. And the "Smart" tv features will make you consider trimming you cable package. Spend the extra cash for the Geek Squad installation. One of those "high-brow" reviews advised it, and I'm glad we did. These ultra thin screens are delicate. Our G-squad techs were hanging our set, and I noticed a 6-8" wave at the lower right edge of the set while it was off. The reflection of the room, gave it away. A replacement is coming in a few days, no questions asked. I don't think the resolution would've been the same, if we installed it. Take the plunge, and look at tv in a whole new way !

This is my very 1st purchase of Oled and I’m please with my purchase. I am upgrading from 2015 Samsung SHUD quantum dot tv. I thought I was amazed with that picture quality, but my Oled picture quality playing 4k hdr, Dolby Vision and HLG has been the experience I’ve been waiting on. I have experienced inky blacks 1st hand and it’s the real deal. No banding on my Oled or light bleed like my Samsung panel. I was surprise how 4k content looked with streaming. A noticeably difference from my 2015 tv. I was extremely impressed with how 4k uhd blu Ray movies perform perfectly. The disc quality is superb vs streaming. Streaming capped at 25mbps vs the disc uncompressed going over 100mbps all the quality I could see on Oled. I have it paired with Panasonic 820 player, audioquest choclate hdmi cable and Dolby Atmos Samsung Harmon Kardon HWN850 Soundbar with rear speakers. I watched Spider-Man multiverse, Avengers movies, Netflix, YouTube in HDR and been blown away. The WebOS is way better than Samsung. It’s very user friendly and all tv apps work flawlessly unlike Samsung which had laggy system for premium tv. Best Buy had for few days the best sale ever seen for Oled. My 65 inch C8 was brand new 1950.00 which after a year goes normally for price 2500.00. I jumped on price in a heartbeat. A win win for me because I wasn’t planning on purchasing until 2020. The price made me buy this sooner than later. Last thing worth mentioning is firmware update. You go on LG website they tell you exactly what firmware update is. Samsung they give a very general response and don’t tell you what the update did. Another reason I’ve been slowing down on purchasing Samsung products.

This is a wonderful TV. The picture quality is outstanding. We are using it with a Sonos surround system, so I have no basis for commenting on the internal speaker quality. The LG Magic Remote is easy to use (after some initial learning about how to navigate with the on-screen pointer) although we have mostly set it aside and are using the Comcast X1 voice remote. Both the cable and Apple TV 4K streaming pictures are high quality. As expected with an OLED system, the blacks are truly black and the contrast is excellent. I can see why this TV has received such high ratings.

We love this tv. It replaced our 7 year old Samsung and I am amazed at how much sharper the image is. In my opinion the OLED is much better and worth the higher price. We had originally picked out a Samsung QLED, but after seeing this one changed our minds and it was a great decision. The apps pull up at the bottom and it is very easy to operate. My only complaint, and it is a BIG one!!!! is that it did not come with the magic remote that was promised to us by the salesman. Best Buy really dropped the ball here!!!!

Wow, This TV is absolutely the best that I've ever owned. Picture is so crisp, smooth and perfect. I was lucky enough to get it new for $1900 but I also bought the 5-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection which I highly recommend. I've had no problems at all with the TV and 0 burn in. between my son and myself we spend about 20 hours gaming/week and the HDR is terrific. the picture is great out of the box but i still recommend having it calibrated to get the most out of it.

We did a lot of research on which TV to purchase. Ultimately, going with the highest picture quality was important to us. We enjoy being able to switch between viewing modes easily, the remote is user friendly, and the picture is superb. Burn in can be a problem (which was the exact problem with a floor model we had originally purchased, then returned it for a new one.)

I'm really pleased with the television picture quality for my OLED65C8PUA . I use HDMI connections for cable TV, blu-ray, DVD, and internet streaming (Netflix, Amazon, etc.). I agree with the reviewers who are blown away by the deep blacks and vibrant colors. I've never seen television picture quality like this. Thumbs up! My only criticism of the built-in LG smart features is that HBO GO and HBO NOW are not available, apparently due to disputes between LG and HBO. That cuts down on my on-demand choices for HBO shows. The only problem with the OLED65C8PUA that I have not been able to solve is that display quality when connected as a PC monitor is terrible. The screen is covered with glowing random pixels in contrasting colors with the intended image. I have connected two different Windows 10 computers via HDMI and gotten the same problematic result. Computer graphics drivers and TV firmware are up to date. I previously had the same computers working flawlessly with the Samsung TV I replaced with this LG. If not for this problem I would have rated the OLED65C8PUA as five stars.

The picture quality is unmatched for sure! We have no issues with it so far and would definitely buy another oled in the future, but the one critique I could give is I tried using the interface of the TV and some apps like vudu and Netflix will freeze and stop working while my roku will run continuously on the same internet connection. I have both hardlined to the modem so this is not a wifi issue. I just dont use the smart capabilities of the TV and stuck to my roku for streaming. I bought the 5 year replacement plan from bb so I do t need to worry about burn in and so far there has been no indication of burn of any kind even with heavy gaming on a ps4 and Nintendo switch. Games in hdr look incredible!
