A great and natural looking picture

The following is why I purchased my LG OLED65C8P. I was asked to write a review for my LG OLED55C7P, but it really speaks for itself. The colors are vivid and natural looking without saturating the flesh tones. Usually, when I buy a new TV I tweak the color, tint, contrast, and brightness controls. I didn't have to do that with this TV. The only change I made was going from APS (Auto Power Save) to Standard in Picture Mode. Even white looks whiter than I have ever seen on a TV. Small text is very clear whether the text is black on white or white on black. I use an outdoor ant for my programs. Even though broadcast stations transmit high definition without HDR, programs still look great. I upgraded my Netflix account so I could stream HDR programing, and that looks even better as one would expect. About a week later, I purchased a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player. I had no problems connecting it to my TV and audio receiver. Again, I was very pleased with the results. If a user doesn't have the room or desire for external speakers, you will be satisfied with the LG's speakers. The only way I can see how to improve this TV, would be to get it's 65" big brother, which is what I did! Everybody who see's my LG OLED TV's are very impressed. I recommend LG OLED TV's to anyone who will listen to me.

Just purchased the LG 65" C8 4k tv from the Best Buy in Polaris (North of Columbus, OH) a few days ago and I am extremely pleased. Firstly, I got a GREAT deal thanks to Dave H, the associate I always work with at my local Best Buy, so needless to say I was already excited even before I got it home and hooked it up. We were looking for something to put in my newly remodeled "sports room" since we decided to go with a large tv instead of a projector. Once that decision was made, it was now a question of size vs quality vs budget. We went with the LG OLED TV just because of its exceptional color and clarity. Some of the other 4K UHD tv's looked very good but once it was compared to the OLED, there was no question which one we were going to buy. Even the Samsung QLED doesn't match the crispness and color saturation, at least in my opinion. Once I mounted it on the wall and hooked up the sound bar we turned it on and found our wifi router in the settings. Now it was time for the test. I found some HDR content on one of the apps and started streaming. Wow! It looks just as bright and colorful and clear as it did in the Best Buy showroom! I would absolutely recommend this TV, and if you find yourself at the Best Buy in the Polaris area, ask for Dave H, he is a Rock Star!!

I've owned many TV's over the years. Most recently before this was a gorgeous qled 65" set. Honestly, I didn't know how a tv could look any better. Then I got this OLED, wow! The picture is so beautiful, I dont have the words to describe it. Let's just say it looks like the most perfect thing you can imagine. I will not ever be without an oled again.

I had Geek Squad do the wall mount install of this TV. Initial setup was quick and easy (for them). Color and clarity are intense. Blacks are Black. Although I haven't tried a 4k DVD, I expect nominal visual difference. This is due to fact that the picture is so Awesome now. remote is easy to operate and the 'pointer' is very easy to use.

Got this to replace a smaller OLED tv from 2016. Picture is even better. Right out of the box colors look great. The C series is probably the best value of the LG OLEDs this year. They are all very expensive, but you get what you pay for.

This tv really shines with 4K content. When watching Netflix with dolbyvision or ultra Hd the picture looks spectacular. You have to make sure you have a high speed HDMI cable to watch something in dolbyvision. When watching content from cable box the picture just looks ok not great. Totally worth it since I mostly stream 4K content on this tv.

I bought this television before Christmas for my wife and myself. It replaced my 2.5 year old Samsung QLED that was passed down to one of our sons. The picture is a definite improvement on the Samsung, which did not have local dimming. The picture just pops on the screen with 4K HDR content and looks very good with other inputs. Money well spent.

I was waiting and waiting for the perfect tv and finally took the plunge when my Elite Tv panel went out with a red line. This Tv has performed as advertised. The color is vibrant, the dark is perfect dark. The picture is crispy clear. I have no complaints about this TV. However, there are not enough 4K programs to enjoy this program fully.

This was a great purchase. Have used it for nearly a year now and it has been a great experience overall. Great picture quality and comes with one of best remotes available in the market. The TV is extremely thin. But also very tough. Was worried getting it out of the box but turned out to be easy. Highly recommended!!

Best TV out there with some caveats

Currently if you want the best TV picture and can afford it, this is the one to buy. Caveats are: Auto Brightness Limiting, or ABL. Recent firmware update changed how this “feature” works. It is noticeable when there are larger bright white area lit up on the screen and the whole screen will dim to compensate. It is easily noticed when scrolling through Apple TV screens where 2 or more artwork boxes are bright white. If a movie scene you are watching has too much white in it you can also see the whole picture dim a little. Very annoying. My other caveat is no permanent way to disable the built in speakers. This is maddening. I have the LG Atmos sound bar. The Apple TV is plugged into it and the sound bar into the tv, with audio return channel, or ARC, turned on. You click the apple remote and it turns on the sound bar and tv automatically. Great, but for whatever reason the TV decides to turn back on the built in speakers so you’ll hear the sound bar and then an delayed sound from the TV speakers. So every time you turn on the TV you have to go to settings and switch the sound back to ARC. If it wasn’t for this I would never need to use the awful LG TV remote with it’s gyroscopic pointer (you can however ignore the pointer and use the D-Pad instead). I did not test the “smart” features of the TV out as I am using an Apple TV 4K. Once I checked for and did software updates I turned off the WIFI on the TV so it has no access to the internet whatsoever. As with most “Smart” TV’s they can monitor what you are watching and “phone home” if they are connected to the internet. No thanks, LG.

This TV has an amazing picture. It does an ok job at upscaling 1080p video sources, but if you can give it some true 4k content you won't be disappointed. It works great with a 4k Apple TV giving you the option for dolby vision. Do yourself a favor and search youtube for some LG 4k OLED sample videos to really see what this tv can do.

I purchased this TV based on being top-rated by a leadering consumer reporting and rating service. I was interested solely in the picture quality and reliability of the brand. I was certainly not disappointed on this front -- the picture is stunning, and even my older 720p content looks fantastic. The big, unexpected surprise was how good the smart TV functions are. It comes with all the usual suspect (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Vudu, Hulu, etc.) apps already preinstalled and ready to go, and there's a web store with more services, like Plex, of which I am a heavy user. The interface is well-designed and easy to navigate. Response times are comparable to other streaming devices, like Apple TV or Roku. I was so happy with the streaming app performance that I moved my Roku 3 to a different room since I didn't need it in that room anymore. I would definitely recommend this TV.

I have wanted an Oled because everything I’ve ever read was positive about this TV. My past 3 TV’s have been LG and worked great. This TV has perfect blacks and flawless HDR gaming. I really wanted a 70’ TV but unfortunately there are few out there. I would rather have 65’ of this then a 70’ with half the quality.

The picture quality on this is amazing. I use the native Netflix and Amazon apps for 4k streaming and it is better than my previous UHD regular LED tv. Definitely worth the money and it was on sale which makes it even better. If you are questioning whether or not to go to OLED, don't hesitate. It is worth it.

Wow this TV is amazing. The blacks are incredible! It’s really true nothing can compare to OLED TVs ink blacks. One concern people have is the brightness of OLED tech. This TV is bright enough for what I need. Upscaled 1080p looks great. Dolby Digital video looks so amazing along with regular HDR and 4K videos.

This is my first OLED TV, and what an amazing technology. Blacks are BLACK. The contrast ratio is amazing. Picture quality leaves you breathless... I can't say that this TV is "better" per se than the great OLED's that Sony makes, all I can say is that you can't go wrong with an LG (or Sony) OLED TV. OLED is a game changer.

Very nice TV, good quality of the picture, High Dynamic Range works great. Only one disappointing thing it can't be turned on via Google home or Alexa, turning off is no problem, but turn on not working. Also if you want to connect to your NAS storage it won't see shared folder if they require credentials.

Quick delivery and detailed instructions on unboxing and physical setup. Sharp, crystal clear picture with incredible blacks. Nice upscaling, and smart remote makes navigating menus and apps a breeze. Did have to increase the brightness on some of the preset picture modes. TV and stand are beautiful.

I decided to go OLED using Comsumer Reports. I had a hard time choosing between the LG and the Sony XBR TV that were both rated highest by CR. Got a good deal with $500 off the LG, so I bought it. The picture made everything seem so real. My Blue-Rays were improved immensely and anything that is in 4K blows me away. I went from a 55" TV to a 65" TV and now I feel like I am actually in a movie theater or stadium. The only thing I can criticize is that I can see reflections in the picture of overhead lights or lights behind me. I have turned those lights off when I watch. If I turn off all the lights, I cannot imagine a better picture. The sound from this TV is amazing...don't need a sound bar or rear speakers. The price is steep but the quality of the set to me is well worth it. This TV has my highest recommendation!!

This tv is phenomenal! It was everything you could want in TV. Smart apps, Google Assistant, 4k, hdr10, Dolby Vision, the darkest black levels and bright colors. I love watching this tv. They only negative which is not really the TV, it's the Vudu app. It has playback issues at times.
