Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the exceptional picture quality, vibrant colors, and easy setup of the 65" Class C9PUA Series OLED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV. They appreciate the gaming capabilities and the future-proofing provided by the HDMI 2.1 ports. While some find the remote control difficult to use and the TV expensive, concerns about burn-in and the unattractive design when wall-mounted are also mentioned.

    EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!

I purchased the LG OLED65C8P in August 2018 because consumer reports and consumers raved about its picture. I can confirm that without a doubt, OLEDs offer the best picture quality you can buy, perfect blacks and 4K is stunning. We own several LG products (TVs, Washer/Dryers, etc) and all have been wonderful. This changed in September 2019 when I turned on my TV and horizontal lines appeared with a distorted picture, finally the TV turns itself off after 15 seconds. I called LG and because I was 20 days past the year warranty period I'm left trying to find service for this TV. Initial feedback is it is not a board but the panel itself which is not cost-effective to replace. Let's just say spending 2K for a TV that lasts only a year is unacceptable. Furthermore, it is ridiculous that LG doesn't offer longer warranties on their top of the line TVs (partially my fault for not considering this). No doubt, this is the nicest TV I've ever owned but if you decide to take the plunge I would highly recommend an extended warranty.

Ive been checking this tv out for a few months now. Loved the picture quality. I had to have this TV. Pulled the trigger on it. Im dissapointed. I feel like I couldve saved $1300 or more and got the same picture. On the VIZIO quantum series or another LG. Dont get me wrong. The picture is nice and has great features and displays. Just not as expected and what I seen in the store.

    Don’t buy a OLED!

Sorry to say but stay clear of all Oled TV’s. I bought the LG OLED C6 SERIES, Lasted less than two years before that dreaded word BURN IN occurred. Thank God I bought the warranty because it was covered. I was told don’t worry about burn in, it rarely happens, well my TV had burn in with news letters and lost it’s yellow and brown images which turned green. The warranty company that came to the house said that these TV’s suffer from this problem and it’s not going away. Well yes I did get another free OLED C9 but if I were to buy a new TV it would not have been an OLED. So good luck and happy TV buying season. Maybe this is why Samsung doesn’t make OLED’s. Too bad because it’s picture is great when it works.

    Terrible Burn In

I have this television. Beautiful stunning picture quality. I’ve had it 2 years and have terrible burn in. Distorts color on some scenes. Very frustrating. LG know this is a problem with OLED but there is no warranty for it even with extended warranty purchased. No relief at all from any warranty. Paid $2,500 for this TV and have this terrible problem within 2 years. Don’t buy this or any other OLED TV. You’ll get burn in and be stuck with a very expensive TV that is sub par. OLED has a great picture, too bad it’s ruined by this issue. Shame on LG for selling this to consumers and sticking them with this known issue.

    Best One Yet, but...

This tv has the best picture of all of them. The SAMSON QLED Q90 comes in a close second. This price for the LG is just about equal with the SamQ90, but you can get a better deal elsewhere. After buying Best Buy’s 5-year Warranty at $500, and believe me from experience you will need to, it brings the cost above what you would pay at the other Warehouse Store that gives you a 5-year Concierge Warranty for free. This is the only reason I rated with one star.

DO NOT BUY!!! I purchased this TV in 2016 for $5K. I got burn in less than two years. Contacted LG customer service and they said it was not repairable. Wrote letters to CEO and Customer Service Leadership and no answer. LG does not care that they produced an overly sensitive product for consumers.

I just got this tv, for the 4k and beautiful screen.... ( I THOUGHT)... I bought this for the xbox one x 4k and the upcoming xbox one series x, and I play alot of destiny 2, and I must say the oled is awful, it is so blurry everytime u move camera around, and it stutters so bad and I mean so bad, if u just look in one direction and dont move character it's the most beautiful picture u will ever see, but as soon as u move camera it's awful, so blurry, and I spent over 2 grand with warranty!!!! I am so disappointed, my other lg 1080 pixel tv is so much better, 10 times better, I was so excited about this purchase and it was one of worst ones I've ever made, SO DISSAPOINTED, SO DISSAPOINTED!!!!

Bought this TV 1 year and 3 months ago. I was very happy with the picture quality. The geek squad installed it. It then went totally black except a small flicker of a green vertical line down the right side. The warranty expired 3 months ago and no one can help. What a waste of money. If you buy this TV then make sure you have extended warranty.

    OLED TV

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had the OLED65C8PUA model for 6 months and a black horizontal thin line appeared on the screen. It has been two months and it is still not repaired. Apparently LG contracts with a company called ACS - who can't get the part from LG. When you call LG they cannot tell you where the part order is .... not synchronized at all. Nice TV but hope you don't need a repair done - next to impossible to get accomplished.

Left the TV on the home screen and left the room. Came back 5 mins later and the screen was blank. The power light will flash as if the TV is turning on, can briefly see the screen flash, then the power light goes solid as the TV turns itself off again. Reading online and this seems to be a problem going back several TV generations. This is my first LG after being a Samsung guy for years, so I don't have a great first impression. Will return the TV tomorrow for a replacement. The picture itself is phenomenal, even on older 1080p content.

LG Refuses to Replace Faulty TV with Coil Whine

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Absolutely do NOT buy this television without getting Best Buy's extended coverage. My brand new C9 has a coil whine issue that makes watching TV completely unenjoyable. Every time a bright color comes on, the TV "screams". You can find videos of it on YouTube and in Reddit channels. Most people have been immediately helped with a replacement. However, I have been trying to get LG to replace my TV under warranty since March...MARCH. After five months I am still at square one. Over 20 calls, several emails and numerous social media out reach attempts and I am still stuck with this TV. TLDR; Do not get this tv without Best Buys coverage. It has a well documented coil whine issue that makes viewing tv unbearable. LG service puts you through hell and will not replace your unit.

    Disappointed

I was going to go Sony and now I'm really sorry that I did not. When I arrived at the store the salesman keep singing the praises of the LG C9 and I thought there must be something to this. After getting it home and set up this has been nothing but utter frustration. Even with timers turned off the tv randomly turns its self off. I called LG and we went through everything and they said my receiver was bad. So I went out and picked up a new one and still same issue. I really want to like this tv but I don't. Life isn't good with this tv. To late to return it now so I'm stuck with this thing. No more LG products for me me. First and last time.

    Flawed Product/ Not So Smart

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If you just want an expense TV with a decent picture then this is okay. But if you want to enjoy your TV and all the smart features that you are paying for, this is a DUMB TV and unacceptable. A couple of observations: 1. The Alexa App will not work. You won’t be able to use Alexa to control the TV. Read the Alexa skills app reviews for the LG thin TV. Pathetic 2. This has the worst remote I’ve ever used. No backlight, awkward to hold, small buttons, poor ergonomics, no instructions, complicated, no jump to previous channel feature, etc etc etc. 3 The LG smart phone app is useless. Only half the buttons (features) work. 4. The manual is somewhere on the web and once you find it, it’s incomplete and hard to follow. The instructions included with the TV are useless. Basically, “Don’t pour water on the TV”. Thanks. You will not get all the features that you paid for! I want my Sony back

Do yourself a favor and dont have the tv delivered. Their delivery service is horrendous. I bought the LG C9 on 11/29. They scheduled delivery for 12/1. No one showed up. No one called. It is now 12/5 and I am still waiting. The people I spoke to at 888-Best-Buy and the instore manager at a local best buy seem powerless to do anything about it. After I called 888-best-buy they told me that someone should call me in 24 to 48 hours. 72 hrs later and still nothing. Im sure the tv is nice. Ill let you know one of these days.

TV BROKE IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS model OLED65C6P

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We purchased the curved 65" OLED August 2016 and it broke May 2019. LG recommended repair company says the TV is not repairable after installing a new board. They said the screen keeps overheating. LG customer service has been unhelpful saying the TV is older than the one year warranty that comes with the TV. I would not purchase an LG TV again. The TV we bought cost $4,000. That's a lot of money for a TV that breaks in less than 3 years.
