    Great picture!

The TV has a great picture and that’s the most important thing, right? I changed to this after another TV with a great picture, a Pioneer Kuro plasma set which I’ve had many years and cost over twice what this one sells for. I didn’t want to lose the great blacks that I had with my plasma which is the primary reason I went with this over a Samsung QLED set. I primarily watch with Dish Network, but it’s pretty cool that when you choose the antenna input you get 300 or so internet channels over your WiFi even if you don’t have an antenna for your local channels. The program guide will show all of these channels along with descriptions of each show right along with any local channels you are getting from an antenna. This brings me to the one weak point I’ve found with this TV. Every couple of weeks the channel guide loses all of the detailed information. You can still see the channels listed, but all of the channels on the list show “no information” on the program listing so you can’t tell what’s on unless you tune to the channel and see. Even then, no title or description of the show is available. I researched the problem online and found many other users of not only this set but also some other models going back a few years from LG. I did find that the problem is easily fixed, although it’s only a temporary fix. Just unplug the TV and wait about a minute and plug it back in. Merely turning off the power won’t work, it has to be unplugged. When the TV resets the program guide all returns and stays good for another 2 or 3 weeks until it happens again. Seems like this could be easily fixed by a software update so I’m wondering why LG has let this problem continue for so long. Other than this small inconvenience I’ve been very happy with my purchase. The ISF Expert mode for the picture is nearly perfect right out of the box. Best Buy recently dropped the price on this TV by about 400 dollars and at this price it’s a great value. I don’t think anyone out there would regret buying this TV.

First class picture, picture processing, connectivity, app selection, and ease of use. Be prepared to fiddle with settings to get the desired picture quality you prefer (especially if you like the soap opera effect). There are some quirks in the settings too, where depending on what type of device is connected it will Grey out some options. This can be forced to change by just simply not assigning a type of device or lying to the TV. Lie all you want to it, LG will not judge you. And neither will I. If you want HBO MAX app you are out of luck. I personally detest limiting app access like this, but as far as I understand it should eventually come to the TV. No guarantees, and it's not there as of March 2021, but we can all hope. I use this TV as a primary monitor for my PC that runs my house and entertainment. PC connectivity is a breeze if you know what you are doing and have current generational tech. Hdmi 2.1 is great, and having a tv capable of displaying 120fps games does make it quite literally the best gaming experience I've ever had. I use a very technical sound setup for different rooms and different content, but this tv is currently connected to a 5.1 atmos soundbar with a sub and satellite speakers. It uses the ARC connection (hdmi 2) to take over all sound duties and there are no input switching problems since ARC is used no matter which input you are using. I am not a soundbar promoter, or even really a proponent of using them....but for where this tv is (extra room) and how it is used (pc mainly) and how often it is used (quite a bit) and for how easy it is for everything to just WORK and look BEAUTIFUL...I can easily recommend it to everyone who wants OLED quality at an OLED price. It's expensive, its high quality, and its easy to use. There is no lag in app usage, switching apps or inputs, and moving around an app interface. Enjoy this tv, it was meant to be watched and appreciated.

This TV is gorgeous! All the free LG channels are cool. The picture is phenomenal. Power usage is minimal. Number of HDMI ports is good, could use an extra USB port but 1 is fine. The blacks are SO black on this TV it will really wow your eyes, SO beautiful! Remote is easy to use, wish it was backlit tho. All of the built-in apps are easy to use and I like being able to type or click the cursor like a mouse. Great TV, even better price for the picture quality, thank you!

First time OLED user, and I'm stunned by the picture quality. The blacks are perfect, colors are rich and vibrant, motion is great, sdr and hdr are great. In hdr, the brights are really good compared to lcd. I don't know what else to say, except that I love this tv, and it will be very hard for me to go back to lcd if I had to,(nothing against lcd).

Best 4K viewing experience at this price range

I had an earlier version of this 4K LG OLED and it presented stunning visuals for my gaming and TV/movie watching experience. I recently switched to a different brand (8K) thinking it would be even better than 4K OLED...wrong. I sent it back and now I have this model. The picture is always gorgeous, and there's low latency when gaming. The speakers on this thing sound really good (although I will get a sound bar eventually...for optimal audio). A small complaint I have is that I can't download the HBO Max app on this model at this moment (or ever? The newer version of this TV does have the HBO Max app). Logging into HBO Max and sharing my Android phone screen to the TV looks "okay," but the framerate judders. If you have Apple TV, a streaming box or a newer gaming console you will be able to access HBO Max while using this TV. Another minor critique: the remote isn't as streamlined and as nice as the previous 8K TV's controller. But that's a small prices to pay for the best media viewing experience at this mid-to-low price range. LG just delivers with these OLED's. Another thing: be aware of burn-in and ensure you do everything you can to stop it from happening too soon. My previous LG 4K OLED model had significant burn-in issues after 4-5 years of use; and the burn-in occurred because it was the pandemic and I played a certain videogame for 6-8 hours a day for 5 months. Despite this concern, this particular LG TV model appears to have better safeguards against burn-in, such as a screensaver that starts up pretty quickly if you leave the TV alone, paused or on a menu screen. This TV is worth the money if you're serious about your console gaming and home theater experience and cannot afford 5K-20K+ for higher end 8K TV's. There's hardly any 8K media out there anyway, so it's most likely overkill (as of this writing).

This TV is everything! Everyone knows that OLED can’t be matched when it comes to perfect blacks! I would recommend adding a soundbar or AVR to give it the cinema experience. It’s great for gaming. TV will be ready for PS5 and Series X. It has a ton of new features that will help eliminate of burn in. However it’s always a chance if you watch the news channel all day everyday and never change to something different. I purchased the extended warranty just to be safe. I mainly purchase this television to play games on my PS5 and Xbox Series X. I must say games look fantastic on this television and I have no regrets purchasing this amazing television. I also watch movies on it from time to time basically utilizing Netflix. The movies look great on this television as well. I recommend this TV definitely for people acquiring next-generation systems. It enables HDR on those games and also, allow those games play up to 120 frames per second.

This TV is incredible. It supports 4k 120 Hz gaming, HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The picture is incredibly clear and has an extremely wide viewing angle. This is my first OLED screen and I'm blown away. The setup is easy, the software is intuitive and I like the magic remote which will also control anything I plug into the TV that supports HDMI-CEC. Works seamlessly with Xbox Series X and PS5 as all the HDMI ports are 2.1 and support 4k 120 fps gaming.

I picked the CX because for the features and price it was a great value. The picture quality is great. An added plus with great implementation of hdr and Dolby vision. The atmosphere in various movies and games on this tv is breathtaking. The user-interface is nice and easy to navigate especially with the remote with the pointer (which is simply awesome and well calibrated). I am looking forward to many years with this set.

The picture on this TV is phenominal. Really clear and succinct. Sound quality is not as loud as I would have hoped for, given the high cost of this product, but it does okay. I may buy a sound bar later, maybe not. Built in channels are okay, but I chose to use a firestick, which works very well. Ease of use is very nice. Large screen is great. Heavier than I though for such a thin screen. Had the TV about a month and a half and its working fine so far.

    Best OLED from 2020

This TV is well worth the almost $2000 price for their mid range 2020 OLED tv model. If you are next gen gamer this is the tv for you. This TV has a full selection of hdmi 2.1 port unlike the BX.(both not at full bandwith) so get this over that for very little price difference. WebOS is great interface for a smart TV. It includes all the standards apps and then some minus HBO Max(due to Samsung exclusivity deal) That is not a deal beaker for me as us Amazon FireTV 4k Stick.(awesome by the way) Navigation and customization is great. It has a ton of picture to get it just right for you. The brightness is good for bright and dark rooms. The black level as the best you can get for a 2020 tv The only rare problem would be burn-in like plasma's got but you are highly unlikely to cause it so do that that distract you from buying the tv. This was not first choice for a tv. I first looking at the 65" nano cell 90. I even had it on order for pickup but thank to the internet I stopped myself from making a big mistake. Don't buy it or other nano cell tv its a waste of your money. nano cell is just their buzzword for a basic led lcd tv with the latest tech in it. "NO this is not microLED that is coming to compete with OLED" The blooming is really bad and black level is no where near OLED. I can see why this TV was so popular is 2020. If you are thinking about the 2021 model. The biggest differences are the standard improvements in picture quality year after year, a new version of WebOS with overhaul to the UI (supposedly not coming to 2020 or older models) and an enhanced gaming mode interface. Overall one of the best TV's in its class

Best TV You Can Buy - If you Don't Own an OLED

Conclusion As someone who has had an LG Oled for 5 years now and coming from a 55 Inch LG B7 I will say this TV isn't much of an upgrade. Don't get me wrong, it's better in every way from my B7, it's just not a big enough leap to justify buying an entirely new TV. The Good My primarily reasons for upgrading were I always wanted a 65 inch TV and the game mode on my B7 has been broken for years. It's washed out and so dark, that I have to use other picture settings to game. I'm not a supper gamer so I never particularly cared about nor noticed the high input lag. Don't listen to people who keep harping about this tv not having HDMI 2.1 "full bandwidth". THAT IS A LIE. There is no such thing as HDMI 2.1 "full bandwidth." 48 GB is a tech spec people use to bash LG. In the real world it is the very definition of pointless. 48 GB is used for 12-bit content and 8K neither of which this TV supports. There are no 12 bit panels on the market. There are no external devices other than super expensive PC Graphic cards that less than .1 of the PC Gamers will even have. This is the ONLY tv on the market that has HDMI 2.1 on ALL 4 ports. So if you care about HDMI 2.1 then this is the ONLY TV worth getting. Personally, I don't think HDMI 2.1 is a big deal, but I'd rather have it and not need it. Playing games on the CX however is a night and day difference, the responsiveness on my PS4 Pro and the better colors in Game mode are night and day better, but the real revelation is on my Series X. I'm not sure I notice the difference between 30, 60, and 120 FPS but the games run so much smoother and the input lag almost non existent, to the point where it feels "floaty," I barely touch the controller and it's doing something. Every time I fire up a game on my Series X it's pretty cool seeing all the notifications come up (do you want to play in 120? Sure why not, Instant game activated, etc...) This is the best Gaming TV you can buy. Anyone who says differently, simply doesn't own it. Burn In fears is one of the most overhyped and annoying things around. If you are that worried, shut up and don't buy the TV. It really is that simple. Otherwise get a warranty, you should have a warranty for any big ticket purchase. Anything can break at any time and today's modern TVs aren't designed to last more than 5 or 6 years anyway and if they do you will probably be ready to buy something else anyway. The picture quality as I said in the beginning is better than my B7, but it's not "Wow, I gotta have it" better and that's one my knocks against the tv. I haven't had any issues with this tv as it relates to crushed blacks, raised blacks, posterization or whatever other "issues" people like to harp on. Sometimes those issues are just dependent on the type of content people are watching, their internet connections, cables, etc. Take those complaints with a grain of salt because there's no real way to properly judge and the panel lottery is real. Cons No DTS, it's not a huge deal to me, but there have been occasions where I did have audio drop outs. I don't know if that's the soundbar or I encountered a rare DTS encoded video on iTunes. HDMI in general is still buggy, not nearly as much as in the past, I get a flash once every few weeks. Occasionally I do experience the raised blacks issue but as I said in my pros, its so sporadic that it isn't worth mentioning really. Filmmaker mode is horrible, I was really looking forward to it, but at the moment, it's a useless spec on a feature sheet. It's really dark and washed out. Same with Dolby Vision IQ, was really looking forward to this, but I can't see where it actually does anything. I don't like the changes to WebOs, many of them seem like change for change sake. Like moving the menu from the right to left. Why? The top shelf menu in theory was exciting because I love Samsung's Tsing navigation but on WebOS its obnoxiously large and I hate the way the "home" screen and input thing works now. Why can I no longer set the Inputs to be my first 4 cards? Too many picture settings. Both a curse and blessing. It's a blessing because for the most part I think all of the out of box presets for LG TVs are mostly terrible - or I'm just used to them, however you can very easily tweak this TV until the cows come home. It's also a curse because I spend more time tweaking and playing around with settings than simply watching and enjoying my TV. That was one of the few things I liked about the Sony A8H it was really limited and "hard" to tweak the picture, so I never had the desire to fuss with it. As an aside, I had the Sony A8H its a fine TV but you have to make too many compromises with it and the PQ was almost identical to the CX. It's slightly better but not night and day better, especially once you tweak the CX it's a smarter, better, buy. Suggestions for Improvement There's not much LG needs to do to improve the TV, I don't expect DTS or 48 GB to come back. They just need to continue to improve on the brightness just get rid of that narrative and officially support Burn In with their warranty and extend it to 3 years. I would also like to see a new, faster Ethernet/Wifi 6.0 board on the set.

    LG OLED for PS5

If you want one of the best picture quality for your PS5, look no further than the LG CX or C1 OLED! The graphics look amazing and you get 4!!!! 2.1 HDMI ports which are needed to get the full potential out of your PS5. Not only do you get the 2.1 HDMI ports but you also get a TV that will do 120hz refresh rate (that can push 60fps too!). It’s also gives you VRR (when Sony updates the PS5 to offer it, yet to happen.) But after a 1 year of playing on PS5 with the LG CX OLED, I can honestly say I made the right decision. Not only does it look amazing, the response is as fast as advertised! The only 2 hang ups I have are these: 1. I do not play my games on GAME mode, as I do not like the presets that the LG gives you. I prefer using either VIVID or STANDARD modes that I did have to manually set myself to my liking. Then there is #2 (my biggest problem) the tv SPEAKERS! They are decent, but… if you are watching or playing anything with a very low bass rumble, the tv speakers do shatter!!! I thought it was a broken speaker but after doing some research, it is an ongoing problem with this TV. I bought a sound bar with a subwoofer myself and no longer have this problem. Other than those 2 issues, I will recommend this TV if you want clear, crisp graphics. I also do have a dark living room so this TV works best for me. I hope this helps you out when looking into upgrading your TV for your next generation console! Either a PS5 or Xbox. Happy hunting all!

Great tv so far. I've had it for over a year now and there seems to be a very light burn-in under certain conditions but I don't notice. I think for a year-old tv this shouldn't happen so I will keep an eye on it. As far as quality goes it is superior to any Samsung Qled or other gimmicks you might find out there. As of now OLED is the superior tech. Great quality and love it!

Best HDTV I've owned yet! As primarily a PS5, Xbox Series X player, and a movie watcher, this 4k TV is fantastic. Noteably, the colors are so vivid, while keeping the dark areas black. Played games like Ratchet & Clank, Returnal, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla on it and was blown away from previous experience on 2 year old Sony HDTV 4k. Well worth it! Performance at 120hz made the experiences super smooth too.

I bought this TV with intent to use it with next-gen consoles and my gaming PC since it has a 120hz refresh rate and supports HDMI 2.1, free sync, g sync, and VRR. I had a bit of a rough time getting g sync to work properly with the TV. I had to manually install a firmware update via USB (not sure if it’s an automatic update at this time), but even after several hours of troubleshooting and scouring Reddit forums, I was not having having any luck getting my PC to recognize the TV as a g sync panel (even after trying with 2 dirrerent nvidia GPUs). I even called LG who was unfortunately unable to help me and to my surprise suggested I return the TV (which would not only have been disappointing, but also a huge hassle). Luckily after some tinkering in the menus - I was able to get g sync to work by enabling the UHD color mode (which must have gotten disabled somewhere along the way) on the PC input which seemed to correct the issue. Since then I’ve had no complaints. There are still some murmurings of issues with VRR, but I have yet to encounter this on console games (most of the console gaming I’ve done so far has had a locked frame rate). Also Kudos to Best Buy for their generous price match policy. Shortly after buying this TV, it was further discounted by Best Buy, but they essentially refunded me the difference as I was still within the return window with no resistance at all which was greatly appreciated. While this TV is on the pricey end for most folks, if you are looking for a fully featured panel that’s probably the most ready for next gen gaming and can pick it up for under $2K, I’d say the CX is worth it.

The LG CX is breathtaking! The picture is extremely sharp with the most intense color depth and contrast I have ever seen. The blacks make the picture extremely immersive almost providing a 3D look, all while being crystal clear and with very good motion processing... especially for gaming! It is unbelievably thin as well and the remote is well thought out and easy to use. BEAUTIFUL!
