Bought this to replace an older 1080P LG and am very happy. The picture is superb and it is easy to change the display characteristics to maximize the picture quality depending on what you are watching.
It has a good selection of streaming apps in the LG store but, disappointingly, no PBS app. The app menu is appears at the bottom of the screen on a single row and you have to scroll left and right to get to the app you want. This is a little clunky, but you can easily change the position of your favorite apps to be at the front.
The over the air TV tuner is very good at pulling in stations, as well as a bunch of Pluto stations and picture quality is very good.

Superb TV, as you would expect from the price. The OLED screen is so thin that you're almost too scared to touch it, very elegant. Contrast is amazing with the blacks truly black. Some say that OLED screens are not bright, but it's bright enough in our living room during the day. At night in a dark room, it's breathtaking.
A couple of things to be aware of: The Magic Remote talks to the TV by radio frequency, so if you have a universal remote that works by infra red, it gets a bit clunky. I do like the screen curser that works from the remote.
Another thing; HBO and ESPN are not available on this TV, so if you want them, it's Airplay or Chromecast/Roku.

Great HDMI 2.1 4K TV

One of few, but growing number of HDMI 2.1 TVs. I bought this at the same time as upgrading my AVR to HDMI 2.1, so I expect to be future-proofed for some time. If it matters to you, know that while there is great HDR support, such as HDR10 and Dolby Vision, there is no HDR10+ support (possibly since that standard is being pushed bypass a competitor). But, with the right streaming service, network speed and cables, I have been enjoying amazing 4K content.
With the advances in Consumer Electronics Control (CEC), the “Magic Remote” (with its point and click user experience) is a universal remote that requires very little programming, if your other devices also support CEC. With the CEC capabilities, if I were to pick up the streamer’s own remote by mistake, with one click, it will turn on my AVR and TV. With one click of the TV’s own remote, all those devices turn off... and I haven’t even programmed any activities in the remote. Just a couple of basic configuration settings and it all works out of the box. This is a far cry from where CEC used to be. Nonetheless, I use a different universal remote because I like the extra control I have with a platform I know, but I suspect many others will like the ease of this rather fully functional CEC capability. I must admit, I wish my own universal remote had this “laser pointer” type of user experience! It’s rather like a video game console that supports pointing devices. Very easy to use.
As a Smart TV, it has most of the apps you would expect. Despite the content streaming directly to the TV, I use an AVR for my audio. In the past, I would have used optical digital out to my AVR. With eARC, I use the same ultra high speed HDMI cable for any video feeds going *to* the TV as I use for sound coming *from* the TV. Having uncompressed Dolby codecs pass from the TV to the AVR via eARC is impressive!
Nonetheless, I am used to my other HDMI 2.1-compliant media streamer, so I tend to use it feeding into an AVR and routing to the TV. That does mean that I have never listened to the built-in speakers and that I use my AVR for the audio codec decoding from digital to analog, so I cannot speak to the TV’s native sound.
I have looked at their smart home dashboard. I am not vested in the LG ecosystem, and LG are not invested in their competitors’ supported protocols, so this will not be my smart home hub.
I am not a gamer, so I cannot speak to FreeSync, support for higher frame rates, etc., for the latest high res consoles. Nor do I have a sound bar, so I can’t speak to successful pass through for certain configurations with gaming consoles, but I have seen forums about caveats around these areas, so if this is relevant and important to you, please do your homework.
I love the super dark blacks and resulting contrasts. My ancient plasma TV was good with blacks, but being native 1080, suffered from banding when looking at images with a gradual color gradient through the hues. Not a problem with this TV in 4K, of course! Ultra HD Deep Color is great and, like FreeSync, can be turned on or off separately for each of the 4 HDMI inputs.
I love the high-functioning HDMI 2.1-related capabilities and how well they work with other HDMI 2.1 / modern audio and video codec hardware and software. Integration into my ecosystem was relatively easy. If you don’t live in a TV show room, don’t forget to set the image mode to something like “Expert (Dark Room)”. The out-of-the-box, default settings, like most TVs, could give you a sun burn without the appropriate protection ;) Once set up for home use, it gives a great visual experience.

The TV has a fantastic picture, but it broke in a year and 11 months. Main board went out LG wont cover under warrenty. The new board is 350$. TV was overheating because of the low cost thermal paste they put on the main chip. Replaced the paste and then the power supply board went out shortly after. For what was a 2300$ TV i expected way more from LG. I have always loved LGs products but im goong to have to stick to samsung or sony for my electronics from now on.

I really love these LG OLED TV's. After several generations of LED backlit TV's, with uniformity and image issues for each, getting my first LG OLED in 2016 was like a breath of fresh air. Great blacks, popping colors, and a great thin design. Upgraded from my C6 to this model, and while there isn't any significant changes in image quality, there were some new features (HDMI 2.1) that made it worth it.
Brightness (or lack thereof) in these TV's is something that can't quite keep up with the LCD tv's of today. I do wish it could go a little bit brighter when I'm watching in a room with lots of natural light, but it's not enough of an issue that I'd consider an LED/QLED TV again.

The LG OLED is a TV that we love. The black levels are infinite. The overall quality is top notch. I would recommend this TV to anyone. Don't run the TV in vivid mode to avoid any burn in.

This is a beast of a tv. All hdmi 2.1 ports, totally ready for any new console, or even PC. This can keep up with playing 4K games w no issues. Ready for any new advancements as far as the hdmi. Built in speakers when on the stand are the best I’ve heard on a flatscreen, hands down. Freesync works great, the picture is darker then some, but that’s oled. Screen is very reflective, so prepare to get curtains. Honestly, I did my research, this is the best tv on the market of 2020, and into 2021. I love it, and actually upped to the 65 after the 55 was a little too “average”. Best Buy came and switched it out, no problem. You won’t be disappointed, especially if you’re a gamer.

So far the television has been amazing. Pure blacks, rich colors, and definition that makes 1080p looks like old 480i SD clunkers. Pricy, but if you can swing it, it well worth the price!

I won’t go into in-depth reviews or functions because YouTube has you 100% covered there. What I will say is that everything from the styling aesthetic to the WebOS UI experience was simply a cut above what other sets are offering and that’s not to mention the picture! AMAZING, through and through. Worth every sacrificial penny! With all of the nice budget sets on the market touting “great picture” and nice good features, it was extra hard not to settle for last year’s model as my “ceiling” choice, but I took the dive, copped the 65” CX and I’m so glad I did.

Really like this TV except for the absence of 2 major apps I want, HBO Max and Discovery+. I finally called customer support to find a work around as what I found on the internet wasn’t working. A Fire Stick or Roku was suggested until LG can get the apps. I have a new 4K Fire Stick purchased before my old TV died. I called customer support back to verify the position of the 4th HDMI port since the 3 main ones were in use. Both time’s I phoned customer support, they answered quickly and addressed my questions immediately. No script. Yes, the were probably offshore but were adequately trained, were very pleasant and gave good, clear assistance. This is also a BIG plus.

Wow this is an excellent TV. I had been reading all of the reviews and ratings, this unit is worth the hype. Replaced a Sony XBR LED from 2007 that had served us well. Picture quality top notch. Virtually as thin as a sheet of paper with the exception of the bottom where all of the electronics are. Good sound quality just using built in speakers. Using in a bright room with not really any issues of glare when looking straight on or even at an angle. Some reflections but that is too be expected with the high gloss of the glass.
