I mean, just look at this picture. It looks that good, or even better, in person. When art is showing, I often just stop to marvel at how good it looks.
This TV saved our marriage. I seriously didn't want some huge black square taking up this part of the living room. I wanted art instead. My wife, though, absolutely wanted a TV here. Technology caught up at exactly the right time.
Our wall above the fireplace has a niche for the bracket. With this model, that actually isn't normally necessary because it comes with a flat bracket that mounts on the top center. BUT, our wall doesn't have studs in the right place. So the installers (who were amazing) figured out a way to use an alternate bracket that fits in the niche and can mount to the studs.

Phenomenal TV. Big step up from my B7, which now lives in the bedroom.
As other reviewers have said, this TV absolutely requires a friend to install. Best handled by a professional to get that gallery look with no wires. Its included mount sits the TV incredibly close to the wall.
TV comes nicely calibrated. Only minor changes were needed on the Filmmaker mode for the inputs, but you could spend hours and hours fine-tuning the white and color values.
Gaming is impressive, especially with 120FPS VRR titles on the Series X and soon the PS5.
Make sure to pair this with an eARC sound bar or receiver. Only HDMI port 2 can be used for ARC/eARC.
Last thing - LG has given the G1 and Z1 series a 5 year warranty that includes burn-in. They clearly standby the new Evo panel.

I have had a Pioneer Elite plasma for years; the image is top notch and nothing has held up to if until now. This OLED is absolutely amazing. The blacks are VERY black and the image pops. Wall mounting is pretty easy, plus it looks great being so thin. The OS is reasonably good supporting most things you want/need. It has integral speakers (I didn't realize that until I powered it on) and the sound quality is acceptable to get you going. NOTE: you can not see the speakers the the frame/rim is very thin. This may be expensive but it is definitely worth the cost.

I compared and returned multiple tvs before deciding on the LG G1. The final two TVs were this and the Sony a80j as they were both on sale off and on for similar prices. Both have the atsc 3.0 tuner I wanted aka 4k hdr 120hz broadcast for free over the air. I don't even know any paid services offering live tv at that quality. I have this on a stand as I need the center of my tv at eye level. Picked up an inexpensive one at microcenter that seems to do well.
Slight pain setting this up by myself. Felt flimsy, but I was able to get it done.
Picture is good. Dolby vision doesn't pop like my old Vizio quantum x series TVs from 2018 and 2019, but nothing pops like those TVs. Blacks are amazing as expected.
The main reason I went OLED wasn't just for the beautiful picture, I found out that they're better for your eyes than LED. One of my kids has eye issues. If I had known this beforehand I wouldn't have even looked at any led TVs. If you or your children have eye issues OLED is the only way.
Sound is decent for a tv these days. When put on ai it is nice and loud, but I can hear distortion sometimes, so I put it back to standard.
Anyone telling you to buy a c1 or c2 because of the tv stand knows nothing of the difference in these TVs. Main thing that deterred me away from even looking at the c series was no atsc 3.0 tuner. This tuner should be in everything even remotely decent. G series will give a better picture as well as it can get brighter. For the price difference right now I don't even know how the c series even sells, g series is the way.

This is my first OLED and I am blown away. The picture quality is much better than i expected. The colors are vibrant yet natural. The experience of watching Dolby Vision and HDR content is something to be experienced. Initially I was stuck between high end LED vs OLED, I am glad I made the right choice. So I would say spend a little extra and get this OLED, you wont be disappointed.

Love this TV. If you can still get the G1 (its last season), do it. The G2 offers very minimal improvement and the price differential is enormous between a close-out G1 and even a sale-priced G2. If you want the slimmest tv to literally meld into your wall, this is it. Less than 2" of projection off the wall. Looks seamless and the picture is stunning. Make sure to take the TV off of Store Mode, or you will wonder why the picture keeps changing. One small negative is the remote. It has a mouse-like feature with the cursor. It definitely takes some time to get used to, but once you do it's fine. The only TV I would put above this is the top of the line Sony 83" OLED and that is due to the better interface and gaming features.

So far I love this TV. The LG OLED's are heavy. This one is nice because it comes with a flush mount that makes it sit right against the wall. Being that it's heavy, you don't want to hang it very high. Definitely need 2 people to do this. I had the C1 series before this and found that this one is so much better. I notice the best improvement while playing Xbox. The games seem to run smoother and quicker. I understand the console is what makes the game play smoothly, however, the TV has a lot to do with motion blur, etc. This TV is great for gaming.

I researched this LG G1 for about 8 months before pulling the trigger. I'm already familiar with LG OLED as I have a 55" B8 that we wanted to replace (NOT because of burn in, but needed a bigger TV in a new house and wanted to put the B8 in a spare bedroom)
I DO NOT understand many of the negative reviews I see regarding OLED on various Youtube channels. They always say OLED is "too dim" and rave about QLED brightness, etc... I don't know what they consider "dim" but this thing gets bright enough to hurt my eyes, and we have 3 large windows in the room. And don't watch TV in the dark. The blacks are, of course, stunningly black (which QLED can't match, no matter what those LCD zealots claim.)
Mounting the TV in the correctly location was pretty easy with the included template, though my wife couldn't handle picking it up and mounting it with me, so I had to call over a friend. The effect of it sitting flat against the wall like a picture is simply stunning. In our room, when you enter from the front door you're looking right at the TV side-on, so a normal mount (even a "slim" one) that makes the TV stick out a few inches just looks bad. The G1, sitting against the wall with ZERO gap, it just amazing.
If I hadn't needed the flat-to-wall gallery mounting, I would have gone for the C1 because I don't really see that much difference in brightness between it and my B8... at least in our room. Still, this was the only TV that fit the bill for my desired look, and I couldn't be happier with how it looks on the wall.
I am not a fan of the redesigned WebOS. It's sluggish and in no way an improvement over the UI my B8 has. But, it works. I just don't prefer it.

I bought this tv after looking at many videos on LG OLEDs and others. The reason I got this tv over the equivalent Sony OLEDs is because of the gaming features. LG has done an absolutely amazing job supporting the latest and greatest gaming features (i.e. VRR, 120Hz) while also making them work extremely well. In addition, they have been quick to update their newest televisions with more features and fixes. The picture quality is incredible and everything looks fantastic. The tv itself looks great but at the moment I can't wall mount it. One of the negatives of this tv is that it comes with a wall mount but no feet, which are sold separately. It would have been great if they included both in the box. I was blown away to find out that the remote (which itself is great) works with my surround sound and my Xbox. I have a ten year old set and it is still able to turn it on and off and change the volume. Everything about this tv is fantastic, except one other thing. The tv has more glare than I would like but this is not a deal breaker by any means, just something to keep in mind. Overall, an amazing tv that I am glad I bought and try to show off as much as I can.

Best TV we've ever purchased... also the most expensive! My SO is hard of hearing so I researched TVs with the best factory sound (not adding a sound bar or additional speakers) and this one made the list. The C1 was also on the list, but we decided to spend the extra and get the super slim gallery view. Ours is mounted a little higher so we had to have a 3rd set of hands to get it onto the wall.. it seems like it weighs more than the listed 65lbs,
So far the sound and the picture are both stunning. We are able to watch shows without the closed caption and the voices are able to be heard. We have it on to the CLEAR VOICE setting. My husband is voting for the sound bar either way lol! The matching slim sound bar is also VERY expensive and I cannot justify the price... with only 3.1 channels, it does not have a center speaker for dialog so while louder and more immersive, the speech would not be any cleared.
Even really dark scenes that would normally be almost impossible to see any detail are clearly visible.
If paused, the screen goes into sleep mode pretty quickly which I don't mind witht the risk of burn in on the OLED.
The magic remote takes a little getting used to and I still haven't figured out how to connect to Alexa for voice control... but I haven't spent a lot of time on it either.
Overall, a beautiful SUPER slim TV with bright picture and great sound!

Fantastic TV so far! Best picture quality on a TV I have ever owned. Was kind of shocked how much better it is than my 2018 Samsung Q6 LED in terms of black/contrast. Smart features are pretty mediocre to be honest. I don’t really like the motion remote. Ended up buying an AppleTV. No issues whatsoever with a PS5 and the image quality, again, is superb.

I bought this over the C1 because I buy TVs every 7 years or so, and wanted a solid top of the line to take me into the future. The standard panel warranty of 5 years has value to me, as does Evo panel. I do not wall mount, I use a Sanus pedestal table mount instead, it lets me raise the unit enough so the Samsung soundbar is cleared. It also swivels and tilts, great for access to the back.
Picture quality is amazing. Night and day from my 2015 LG LED unit. Read the reviews online about picture qualilty, it's true.
What is annoying is that the TV just won't work with my cable STB and LG says it must be because it's incompatible. It's Verizon Fios ARIS VMS4100 unit, and it didn't work with 2 such boxes. So I am unable to use their magic remote to control the cable box.
LG support is not bad, they do get back timely and I'm waiting on a new remote (but it's not the remote's issue, I think it's the software that sets up the remote that's the issue). And they have offered to send out a tech. But I've had it in my house just 8 days, so maybe it gets returned and we try a new one? I mean, you cannot control the cable box with the included remote?
Watching Finding Nemo in DolbyVision with Atmos sound was amazing. It's a beauty, but the issue with the remote is a big PITA. I still have faith this will be handled. I can return until March 5 :)

The LG G1 OLED is an excellent TV. I had the C7 OLED prior, and this TV gets brighter. The thin profile and included wall mount makes for a perfect installation. I had some hesitation in purchasing this TV in fear of the compatibility with my Sonos Arc. There are a lot of forums out there that have people experiencing issues with sound output (Atmos) from their TV, when trying to use the Sonos system. I will tell you that the install was seamless. I have used (3) of the available HDMI ports. My Sonos Arc is plugged into the eARC port. I plugged my Xfinity box and Apple TV 4K in two other ports. The TV connected to everything without issue.

Best Flat Panel TV, WORST GEEK SQUAD SERVICE EVER

This TV opened my eyes to a new viewing experience. OLED is the way to go. This is an excellent TV worth every penny. The majority of reviews on TV list the C1 and G1 by LG is the best. I went with the G1 because it works better in rooms where light is not as controllable because of windows that lets in light. This is a much brighter TV among all the OLED's. I Give this review of the TV 5 stars. But because of the installation I paid for by GEEK SQUAD due to being DISABLED..., I am beyond disappointed.
I paid $200.00 for GEEK SQUAD to install this with the provided, 16 inch wide, flush mount bracket. LG posted on YouTube mounting instructions. The GEEK SQUAD person was polite to the point of not knowing how to mount the bracket on the wall. HE WAS NOT TRAINED ABOUT THIS TV. here are the instructions directly from the Installation manual on a 16 inch wide LG Flush Mount Bracket.
there may be cases when the ability to mount into a stud is not possible. In this case, there are a variety of drywall anchors, such as toggle bolts, which may provide a solution. If using drywall anchors, please be sure the anchors and the wall have the ability to support the weight of your TV.
I showed the GEEK SQUAD this INSTRUCTION. after he had Dismounted my existing TV, Unpackaged The New LG G1 TV which he placed on my WIFES chair My Wife is 65 and I am 70 and Disabled. After I showed him the INSTRUCTIONS. I had purchased DRY WALL ANCHORS knowing that the MOUNT was Only 16 inches wide. Wall Studs are at 16 inch centered. The GEEK SQUAD wanted to reinstall the 3 foot wide ORIGINAL TV SUPPORT AND HANG MY NEW LG G1 TV ON AN OLD STYLE MOUNT THAT HANGS OUT 4 INCHES AWAY FROM THE WALL. The LG G1 is a beautiful viewing experience when mounted as instructed. You can have it on the WALL LIKE A PICTURE, TURN ON ART, AND HAVE BEAUTIFUL 65 INCH PHOTOS HANGING LIKE A PICTURE. the GEEK SQUAD person called GEEK SQUAD CENTER and was INSTRUCTED TO "LEAVE"...!
This GEEK SQUAD PERSON, gathered his tools and LEFT my house with the old TV set against my couch and MY NEW LG G1 laying on my wifes chair and the packaging all over my living room.
I asked neighbors to come by after Church to assist. I showed them both the YouTube mounting video and went through the LG mounting instructions. in 30 minutes, using the WALL ANCHORS I BOUGHT FROM AMAZON, That Have Each A 200 Pound Holding Capability. Using 2 of the supplied Wall Screws Anchored Into 1 Wall Stud and 8 Wall Anchors I Bought From Amazon. One of my friends, grabbed the Bracket and started doing PULL UPS on the LG G1 TV MOUNTING BRACKET. VERY GOOD INSTRUCTIONS, VERY GOOD MOUNTING BRACKET. VERY GOOD LG G1 MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS.
VERY POOR, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL GEEK SQUAD PERSON LEAVING MY HOUSE LOOKING LIKE IT WAS BROKEN INTO AND THE CROOKS WERE STOPPED BY THE POLICE RIGHT BEFORE LEAVING WITH THE GOODS....!

I really LOVE this TV. great picture quality and functionality. Regarding picture, I’m a gamer w/ a switch and PS4. I had been playing FF15 on the PS4 on my old TV. After we installed this one I turned on the HDR feature and was blown away by the difference in picture quality and color vibrancy.
A couple of points - this TV does not come with a stand. You can buy the LG legs to put on the bottom but given the size and how thin it is, I opted for the back mounting stand that Best Buy sells which is compatible. I recommend that, as it is extremely sturdy and heavy duty. I also recommend professional installation, even on the stand.
I also recommend a sound bar. The sound isn’t bad with the native speakers, but I guess as a function of being so thin you can only pack so much oomph inside.

I have been really happy with this t.v. The picture is amazing, and gaming has been a blast. They even recently released an update to make it a bit brighter, and it's noticable. There is an issue with flicker on VRR 120HZ, and it isn't fixable, but playing on VRR 60 is great with no issues.

LG G1 is Perfection

Don't get fooled with Sony and Samsung's "Trick or Treat" gimmicks. I purchased the Flagship Sony A90J 55inch and was sooooo let down with pretty much everything it offered that I returned it for an even bigger Upgrade the Flagship Qn900A Samsung 65 8k set. I very much love Samsung and never had any problems with any tvs over the years until this 8k set. The 8k is amazing, its the best picture quality hands down. But there is limited 8k content and the Screen had this Strange yellowish circular ball that was offset in the center of the screen That ruined the TV for me and for anyone else that would get this model. Plus it had this strange dimming feature that was never active but yet the screen would dim itself so low yet dim itself so low out of nowhere it was only on a few settings I believe it was standard in cinema and I made sure that none of the ecosystems were on and they were off! I had nothing adjusting the brightness but yet the glitch of the TV would automatically adjust to the room so that was another reason to ditch the TV. Then I got the Best overall Tv ever the LG G1 65inch. Its perfection in everyway possible. It takes your breath away every time your watching or using the TV. After adjusting a few settings the TV was perfect! Plays Call of Duty the best out of all the sets Sony would be the 2nd best. Films and movies on the G1 are are so amazing that when compared to Sony and Samsung it destroys them even but together it will destroy them the overall picture quality on the G1 is something to behold if you are gonna spend any money on upgrading your TV and you're thinking about the Sony or Samsung trust me you want to get the LG G1 you will be disappointed in fine errors and Sony and Samsung sets like I did. I didn't want to find any errors on those sets but they were flawed. Plus the Sony TVI purchased didn't come with the flagship sticker that's on the TV which I thought was very strange considering watching all the reviews of the T v's on YouTube that every TV had the flagship sticker on it and since mine didn't and I even called Sony and then never returned my phone call and the guy on the phone told me that that was very strange that every TV that you buy should have that flagship sticker on it and since it didn't that I was gonna get a phone call back that never happened I never have received a phone call from Sony they must not care about their customers because they don't care about me at all They never even called. Thankfully Best Buy and the Magnolia team handled everything so well that made my experience so much more greater than it could be. I had major problems with both of my tvs (the Sony and Samsung) I went in there and Matt and the crew handled all the returns so well that I would recommend buying anything from those guys and if you ever had any problems with anything you can trust in the team there! Great job to the Bestbuy and Magnolia Crew for helping and being great at what they do.
