    Don't waste your money

While impressed by the picture in the store, I quickly became disappointed. 1. The unit randomly shuts down and reboots while in the middle of TV shows. The unit is not connected to any device that has an auto timeout and all settings are correct. It is also not on WIFI but is hardwired for TV signal. After following troubleshooting directly from LG 3 different times, they are not willing to replace the unit (it's 5 weeks old). They will attempt to repair it but have made it clear that I have to pay for the service visit if they do not find a root cause. This unit is completely useless now. 2. The TV Stand is very unstable and not suitable for a TV of this size (as commented by other reviewers also.). 3. Their Web OS software doesn't allow connectivity to Direct TV Now (no app and "not compatible" with their web browser). So I had to get an adapter to continue watching Direct TV now (wast of money on the smart TV part). LG customer support is completely useless. THey couldn't find my information even though I have an email confirmation the TV is registered. I wish I had purchased the Samsung instead.

    Spontaneous Cracking issues

We enjoyed the TV very much until about 3 weeks after our purchase. Then one day I noticed 3 2-3 inch crack lines on the bottom of the screen. The top layer of the screen is not cracked, it is the panel on the inside. The TV was touched minimally after initial set up and it was definitely not touched for at least a week prior to the spontaneous cracks appearing. I was a week out from the 15 day return period so Best Buy refused to assist me and the warranty most likely will not cover this from other experiences I've read online. LG referred me to service techs to evaluate if it is covered under warranty. Will update with Results. Again I had this TV for 3 weeks before experiencing this issue. Best Buy will not assist and I will most likely have to pay to get this repaired as the warranty might not cover it.

    Blooming Off the Charts

I have done extensive research for my next new TV to buy since my old LG 65UF6450 screen broke. I was stuck between Samsung Q6FN and This TV the LG SK9000 due to the price range matching for both tvs. I purchased This TV instead of the Samsung Q6FN since I decided to stick with the Brand I love thinking the TV will be better. I love the web OS as its hands down the best Operating System TV I ever have seen, and with the remote moving cursor it was so smooth it felt like a luxury remote. The Picture is great however The Blooming and Black Uniformity of this TV was hands down the worst I have ever seen and so distracting even with the Local diming set to off. I tried everything I could to get rid of the Awful Blooming. The Blooming was affecting everything from solid to multi-color in any picture that contained black. Felt like someone was flashing a light on on the object causing it to bloom. It's like LG did not even try on this tv and wanted you to go straight to OLED which is way out of my price range for a TV. I am unfortunate, and it has forced me to switch to exchange this TV with the Samsung Q6FN 65 inch. You can check https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/sk9000 for the full review and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svltDMCiIRY for the LG SK9000 review.

Horrible blooming due to “Full-Array Dimming”

I went into this purchase thinking this is the best/top LED purchase. I was wrong. I opted out of OLED because of the burn in, I have kids in the house who would leave the tv on and forget about it so I opted for this tv, the one before OLED. I regret this purchase, wish I went with Samsung QLED instead. Horrible blooming due to the claimed “Full-Array Dimming” which just makes everything worse and is especially noticeable in dark scenes. It’s just so bad and because of this makes this tv horrible. The full-array dimming is too slow and too large. Nothing like you see in the demos, the demos make it seem perfect, but once you set it up it sucks. Stay away. Only reason I didn’t return it was because I had already set it up and just figured I’d put it in the kids room at some point and get another tv for the living room.

I cannot review the product I purchased, because LG conveniently changes the model number as time goes on to get rid of the bad reviews that accumulate as they break. I purchased the 65UH8500 for the same price as this TV is listed for in November of 2016. The picture was great and I liked the functionality. After 3 months however, the TV wouldn't turn on anymore. LG came out and fixed it with a major repair. Now, a little over a year later, the TV won't turn on anymore. LG will not help this time. After 18 months, I am stuck with a worthless TV for $1700. I will never buy another LG product again.

Initial impression was excellent. Picture was excellent. Set up was easy. Stand was unstable for an expensive and big TV. It was shaky. Then not even 3 weeks into it, the TV went dark! No picture, only sound. Called LG, was walked through by customer service on resetting, power off etc. No help. LG offered to come and service but decided to return TV to Bestbuy and got samsung instead. Had another samsung for years with no issues. No problems from Bestbuy with the exchange.

I spent a lot of money on this LG TV though I was very happy w my purchase at first and does offer great picture quality after some time I have discovered horizontal lines off center and screen right that are very difficult to see through any picture but very very noticeable when the picture on the screen is just right. I am very annoyed w this and regret making this purchase.

LG Smart TV is poor quality

I purchased an LG 50 inch Smart TV less than 2 1/2 years ago and it has already broken!!!! You would expect a brand new TV to last longer than 2 1/2 years. You know it is poor quality when you can't even turn it on. My mistake was not getting a warranty. This is a TV that you will DEFINITELY want to purchase a warranty on if you don't want to lose your money. Buy this TV at YOUR OWN RISK!
