I purchased this TV back during the Black Friday sales event. It took me several months to get my family room set up before being able to install the TV. Well, I just installed the TV and after a week, it has been a big disappointment. The picture is clear when the image is bright. However, when the image or screen is black, there is major shadowing. Looks like the area around the characters is full of smoke. Almost light a halo around anything that isn’t black. I don’t know if its just the settings, but I’ve tried everything. Just writing this now as I’m on hold with Customer Support at Best Buy to see what they recommend.

I have recently ordered this TV as I was upgrading from a 42" to 65". I am going to share my experience on below points. Package: The package provided is not flimsy and card board is hard and thick. You get a good feel when you look at the package itself, because of the color print of the TV on the front side of it and on the rear, you have it in black and white. You have place to hold the TV on both the end. You need two people to move the TV safely and the package is well balanced. Its secured with 2 plastic straps. Unboxing: You have clear instructions on top of the box as how to handle it and also to unbox it. Remove the tape on top of the box, cut the straps and just lift the box. The TV is just upright position. Its that's easy. Installation: Its quite easy to install. You can find two different pieces for the stand. Their build quality is good. Fix them with 4 large screws, then stick it to the rear of the TV and use the 4 screws to tighten it. It’s simple. It’s hardly takes 10 minutes to fix the stand and use the TV. Design: LG has done a good job by reducing the screen bezels. They are just half an inch. The rear of the TV is little curved. The placement of the HDMI and the USB's are very convenient to use. Plunging and unplugging the HDMI/USB wires is easy. Don't worry guys, it’s easy to access. The TV is very sleek. Picture Quality: I bet you won’t get disappointed. You will be surprised indeed. 120Hz refresh rate makes a difference. Watch some sports channel. I played a 4K wildlife video from YouTube, for a moment I felt that the animals are just in front of me. It’s just magical to experience. Processor: Its very fast, I mean it. Just keep browsing. You will know that. Switch on the TV and use it. It just takes 2-3 seconds to take you to the homepage or to any of the source. 4k video's play right away. No delay. Sound: I initially thought i need to pick a sound bar as the OEM speakers’ sound quality is pathetic. LG did amazing job in fitting such good quality speakers in a sleek TV. They almost give you a 5.1 channel feeling. It’s got the bass effect as well. I watched the avengers end game trailer @ volume no 20, I was left in shock by the sound clarity and effect. Remote: Magic Remote, It in in fact. The scroll and cursor functions are really a boon for this TV. Gone are those days when you keep pressing the navigation buttons to type letters or alphabets. Just move your remote and the cursor on the screen moves, then just click the select button. It’s that easy. You don't need to be very close to the TV. It works wells from far distances too. Voice commands and search is very easy to use. It’s really helpful feature. Final verdict: Competitors have to buckle up. LG is way ahead with the innovations. go for this! You won’t regret. disclaimer: I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

This TV is great unless your are watching a dark program at any angle. Watching Servant from most chairs in our living room the screen is grey and nearly unwatchable.

I did a ton of research on every tv within my price range and I got this one on sale two weeks ago. This is my first 4K tv, but my previous tv was very a expensive Samsung from a few years back. The jump in picture quality was huge to say the least. It has beautiful colors, and can produce some very deep blacks. The webOs works flawlessly and I’m confident that it’s better than what other companies offer. Gaming on this tv is super smooth and will be even better with hdmi 2.1 technology coming soon. This tv has one flaw which is light bleeding (hallowing) in certain scenes, but the overall picture quality makes up for it. I love watching Netflix and Hulu, but I’ve yet to calibrate it to make cable look better. My family has been very happy with this tv, so I don’t regret this purchase at all.

This is an outstanding TV. What an experience. I agree with most reviews that Local Dimming can become a visual nuance. That is my only concern and it can be turned off. The factory preset picture modes are fantastic. The TV also switches automatically when it detects HDR, or Dolby Vision signals. When you have a video game console connected and switch to it, The tv goes right into game mode. When the TV is in the game mode any HDR or Dolby Vision content you play on your console will be detected and broadcast by the television in the corresponding mode. Everything is great about the set. The remote is fun and conveinent as well.

Great for side-angle viewing, nice center stand

Very happy so far (10 days). This TV exactly met my requirements: great side-angle viewing (45 degrees off-center or even more) and a center stand that could be placed on top of a small (36" wide, 20" high) bookcase. Also good in a bright room. We wanted to have our TV located on the top of a small piece of furniture in the corner of our family room, with seating in all directions, and the picture remains sharp and reasonably bright and the color remains accurate from all sides, even at more than 45 degrees off center. Also the screen is not as reflective as many others, which is good for us because we sit with bright windows behind us. Check these issues out in the store in comparison to pricier technologies if they have it on display. Also see the full technical review and screen pictures at rtings.com. We would have been willing to pay a lot more for a TV, but this was the best one we found for our viewing requirements. It has an attractive center stand that does not require a wide entertainment unit to sit on or a wall mount. It's hard to get this feature in a 65" TV. (We hope it will turn out to be strong enough, and we're very careful about bumping the TV.) Paid $1000 on sale a few weeks ago and it was a great deal. Not too hard to set up by ourselves--actually not much to do besides taking it out of the box and putting the stand together--although the instructions could have been a lot better. They just consisted of some cryptic pictures that were not specific to our model. Note that once the straps have been cut off, the box slides off in one piece upward when it is in a regular standing-up position on the floor. You don't need to pull the TV out of the top of the box after opening it at that end to get the instructions out. (By the same token, be careful to support the box from underneath to carry it if the straps are off.) Maybe you could just slide the box off first and then look for the instructions tucked in the styrofoam. The only minor issue for is us that the interface has been a bit hard to figure out, and we would rather not have to click through a do-you-want-the-cable-box-turned-on prompt every time we turn it on. Overall, though, it appears to be a great TV for the money.

Have owned both LG and Samsung TVs prior to purchase and have always experienced that those 2 brands deliver the best picture to my eyes. This decision came down to this model or the Samsung Q80 series. Really pleased with my decision as I watch predominantly live sports, directv programming, and movies on Netflix and Amazon prime video. Ease of use and remote interface of LG (per salesperson rec) by itself is an advantage. 4k program options are limited but have definitely made the effort to compare vs 1080p HD. I can tell that the 4k picture is better but not necessarily overwhelmed until I watched “moving art” on Netflix and the episode with flowers is so amazing I feel that show would sell a lot of 4k TVs in person at Best Buy. That showed me the picture potential and it’s spectacular. Even beyond the picture quality, blacks, color, and contrast...the sound is next level. The quantity of 4k content options is not there yet but very happy to experience what I have so far. Such a great TV. Only regret is that I should’ve gotten the 75” instead.
