Ok here's my take on the 2017 LG 65 C7 Oled. I'v had the tv for about a week now and I will compare it to my 2015 4k Samsung 8500. The Lg does have a bit better Picture when watching Direct tv. It shines and is much better then my old Samsung when watching blu ray or 4k! My PS4 Pro comes to life and is also much better then the Samsung. Out of the box the LG does need some tweaking but not a lot and most people with some knowledge of TV setting shouldn't find this to hard. If you have a 4k Blu Ray and or a PS 4 Pro then this Tv is for you. The Tv is just great with its HDR and works very well with devices that have it. I do like that it has both DV and Hdr10.I'm still getting use to a new OS and do find that the LG's is a lot faster then the Samungs. Also the apps on the LG work better also and lets me now stream from VUDU and Netflix @ 4K . I could not use the 4K streaming from these services with the Samsung but I do think it was a firmware issue not the TV itself. If you just want to watch cable or direct tv then I'd say don't spend the money on this set as there are plenty of TV's for a lot less money will give you almost the same results. If you have the latest and greatest then you can more then likely afford this tv and should get one.

I purchased from Best Buy the LG C7P 65' oled. I had the hardest time deciding between the C7P and the Sony 75 900e. I really wanted to go 75 but in the end I know I made the right choice. This TV is stunning in every way. The picture will absolutely blow you away. I believe now that it is not worth buying any TV that is not OLED, its apples and oranges. (the blacks make it absolutely beautiful)
The deciding factor for me was Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. I purchased the accompanying LG SJ9 atmos soundbar and I can tell you that the picture and sound is an experience that you will not believe. This brings home theater to a whole new level.
I strongly recommend the C7P and the SJ9 atmos soundbar as a complete purchase. It is a true home theater experience of sight and sound. The SJ9 Soundbar makes the C7 a better purchase than the E7 because of the power of the SJ9 soundbar compared to the one built in on the E7 and the C7 is a better purchase the the B7 because the B7 does not have the Dolby Atmos processor.
Just Go for it!

After only two months of owning this tv is starting to turn itself off and gets a little glitchy as well. For a tv that cost almost $4K I should not be having problems already. Fortunatley I purchased the BB warranty, so now I'm going to have to call them to get it taken care of.

Major Failure in both TV and service, including Best Buy's extended warranty / protection plan; I've been trying to get the TV repaired since January and now I have to depend on the radio for COVID-19 news.

I have been a plasma person for years and been waiting for OLED fratures, quality and price to get to the right place, well with the recent price drop it is there. LG has struggled and early 2017 made sets have various banding, vignetting and such problems, but as they get quality control in line this is now a great little set. Every TV tech is not without some minor issues, with OLED it is motion and minor issues just above pure black. But the contrast and pop of an OLED in a dark room is truly amazing. This year they have increased light output and the lower blacks are also improved so I figured it was time. I have not been disappointed. Stunning and amazing with the right 4K HDR content. As lifelike as you can get. Not a fan of the remote and their WebOS is a bit confusing at times, I prefer to leave my apps in my Roku or Shield and let the TV be a monitor, but so many people like using the built in apps. I wish they just had a way to turn it into a plain old monitor. At least the menus and apps are quick, not very laggy. So glad I got this TV, hopefully I can keep saying that for months to come.

I bought this TV when it came out I believe, in 2017. I love it. I still feel like it provides some of the best picture still in 2022. I use it in a dark basement area that doesn't get much light to get the most out of the OLED experience. The TV did experience a problem a couple years down the road but I had the insurance policy and they came and completely replaced the screen for me. This TV was very expensive when I bought it and I wanted to invest in a great TV. I love this TV still.

this tv is the best tv I have ever own. everything we watch is like in 4k quality. watching true 4k HDR is just amazing. the price is great too we paid $2890. we wanted to take a look at sony 65a1e but no one had it on their display at the time plus it is around $4000 too much when lg oled picture quality is just as good as the sony. when we went to take a look at Sony 55oled a1e it was finally on BestBuy display but it was put up near the ceiling so you really can't see if it is any good or better than lg oled. why put it so far away. plus the sony is pricey $3500 with out taxs

Tech Support Mistake caused return to Best Buy

I purchased the 65C7P on 8/30/2017 and immediately after updating the OS to 3.6 I had a thin white line intermittently appear at the bottom of my screen. I spoke to LG product support and they blamed my cables. I then spoke to a certified technician and he stated it was a bad screen so I returned the TV for a new one. The second unit had the same issue. After searching the internet for a solution (because I did not believe I had two units with bad displays) I found that if you turn off "picture shift" option the line disappears. LG and the service team did not know of this issue. Basically the first unit did not need to be returned. It was a software upgrade and a setting that needed to be corrected. According to LG the "picture shift" option is there to prevent burn in not sure if they will fix the issue but the flickering white line was unbearable on a 3000 dollar plus unit. Besides that the unit is very impressive and I could not be happier with the picture while watching college and pro football. Absolutely amazing! You will not be disappointed.

I bought this beautiful TV for a new home with a very naked wall. It is unbelievably stunning. I'm a wee bit lazy (read: clumsy) so I had the geek squad come out and install this thing of beauty. They added in some surround sound and a logitech remote and now I can revel in this LG's glory. The colors are rich, the depth is amazing, the blacks are black - I mean you really can't go wrong with this thing. I have the Roku screen saver up right now and I keep getting lost in the grand canyon. Simply stunning!

I was hesitant at first, because I have half a dozen Samsung TVs in my home, including the one that this LG is replacing. I wanted to upgrade to 4K and the Samsung I had settled on was half the price. I saw the store display and did some research to find the LG OLED was at the top of every list. It took a little getting used to after being accustomed to the exaggerated brightness of Samsung, but after watching this TV for a couple of weeks, I am really satisfied. The blacks, as advertised are pretty remarkable. Colors are rich and deep. Details are crisp. The remote is pretty nice, but I do use it along with my universal remote. Speakers were fine, although I use my home theater sound exclusively. The streaming functions as well as the processor speed to perform is fast and glitch free. Mine is built so you can't see, but the physical look of the TV is impressive, although definitely more fragile. You pay more, and I don't know that it is completely justifiable, given the nature of 4K resolution, but OLED is pretty impressive, and as TVs get thinner, will probably be the future over backlit LED.

BEST TV MONEY CAN BUY. PERIOD.

Literally this TV can do anything better than any other TV.
There are only 2 cons that anyone talks about and here is why they are invalid:
1 - Burn in potential: Yes the risk is there, but if you're a normal human who does not run their TV for 80 hours a week, YOU WONT HAVE A PROBLEM. The TV has scheduled maintenance for that. This will not be an issue.
2 - Brightness: First thing you do when you turn on the TV is TURN OFF THE LG POWER SAVE FEATURE. After that, if you have any complaints about the nits the TV produces, you have been looking at the sun too long and should visit your local optometrist. Seriously. the TV can make your eyes bleed if you turn it all the way up.
Pros: The TV processes motion, upscales quality and produces color better than basically anything out there. Yes, Sony does better motion, Samsung does better color, but nobody does IT ALL like the LG OLED.
Input lag is VERY low
The TV passes through virtually every sound codec possible
THE ONLY THING I WOULD BE WARY ABOUT IS HOW FRAGILE THIS THING FEELS. HAVE A PROFESSIONAL INSTALL IT IF YOU ARE EVEN A LITTLE BIT WORRIED. It is NOT easy to mount this bad boy, and the setup took us a painstaking 3 hours because we didnt want to smash our $3000 TV. in retrospect, I should have just had best buy do it for me.
GET THE WARRANTY. BESTBUY IS THE ONLY WARRANTY THAT COVERS BURN IN. As this is really the only concern, just get a warranty that covers it, and then suddenly this becomes a perfect television.
In addition, visit rtings (google it) - they have a set-up walkthrough for the TV settings that will make this TV just right.

I bought this television on a mere whim. I was browsing my local best buy, just killing some time when my eyes happened upon the great wall of televisions. I was immediately drawn to the oled. There was no question in my mind that I had to have it. I talked with the friendly associate who gave me all the info I needed. I left and had a bite to eat while I pondered the possibilities of this potential purchase. After a tasty middays meal, I returned to my local best buy and made the bset purchase of my life. Please, listen to these guiding words, buy oled; its really that simple. The picture quality is unrivaled and you too will be very pleased with your purchase.

I went from a high end Samsung to an LG Oled about a week ago and currently I have mixed feelings. For movies etc, no doubt the LG has an exceptional picture, however, for every day watching for example CNBC I would give the nod to Samsung. My biggest frustration is the wi fi connection to the internet. We have excellent speed but somehow the browser on the tv is showing extremely low speed, so I am constantly buffering which is very frustrating. Worse, it appears that this is a known problem and one would have thought that a company like LG would have fixed this by now. I have done a number of speed tests. For example I have placed a I Pad on top of the screen and done an OCALA speed test with outstanding results, yet the speed on the TV is pathetic.

Wanted to wait on submitting my review until at least the first 30 days had surpassed. You cannot overstate the picture quality of this television. The LG OLED is expensive even now, but it is certainly worth it if you want the best picture out there. Take the time to adjust the settings to your liking. The first recommendation I would suggest is turn off the energy saving setting. You will immediately notice a difference. The folks at Best Buy were professional and provided great service. You will not regret spending the extra money for this set. In a word it is phenomenal.
