Excellent Surround Bar System with Rear Surrounds

This soundbar with rear surrounds is fantastic. Keep in mind the 3 dimensional sound you hear or don't hear has a lot to do with the source content. Playing Call of Duty is bonkers. You really hear the simulated Atmos effect and it is convincing. Keep in mind a huge factor are your room dimensions. If you have high vaulted ceilings you are not going to get the same effect as say a smaller room with a ten foot ceiling. The App is pretty bad. If I were just rating the app I would give it 1 star. The first time I was setting everything up I had real issues connecting the app to the soundbar. Google Home connected immediately no problem. If I were to give another critique, it would be that the bar does not come with a tweakable EQ. You got a smart sound function which works well and there are a few presets but other than that you are stuck with voicings that LG gives you. I hope they may add this function via a firmware and gulp, app update. Also I wish they would have included 1 more HDMI input. However since this has eARC I can use the inputs on Next Gen 2021 TV (TBD) to connect multiple devices which honestly I would do since this is not 120 hz compatible. That would be my final ding. You would think that since this is HDMI 2.1 compatible they would make this thing 120 hz compatible. I will also say this thing is pricey. I got it on sale but it was still a lot. Overall it is an excellent Atmos Sound System. If it weren't for a few shortcomings I would give it 5 stars.

set up is easy and has an APP which is cool. looks great and sounds incredible. just know that unless u have a device that, not sure of the term, puts out DOLBY ATMOS,then the ATMOS sound option is not selectable as a sound preset. Ex: when i turn on XBOX because it has DOLBY APP/ puts out dolby AT, it displays DOLBY ATMOS in the display window and actually says on the app. also i played CALL OF DUTY for a week without enabling the DOLBY APP and once i did... WOLRD OF DIFFERENCE! PS4 has no DOLBY APP, so although sound is still great its kinda uneven. I spent alot of time tinkering with the audio presets to get it just right(playing TLOU2), where as if i could turn ATMOS on/off myself there would be less options to toggle, which is not the soundbars fault (to an extent). in other words, if you dont have certain devices/apps available outputting DoAT, you might not be able to get the FULL sound potential out of the soundbar. and at this price i should be in full control at all times. This soundbar looks and sounds incredible even if its a bit picky.

Movies and music sounded decent. The Atmos effect in movies were great! But it lacked bass especially when playing music loud. Also, my wife and I noticed our iPhones on WiFi near it became almost unusable. Probably from all the wireless speakers. I ended up returning this since it didn’t stand up to my old classic surround and the price point was steep..... except the Dolby Atmos was nice

I was worried this would be too much sound for our loft as we do have neighbors below, but trying out the system the first time convinced me to keep it! Really easy set up once I read the manual and looked up some videos, also discovered some of the features I was unaware of too! Truly immersive sound, pairs easily with my new LG GX65 TV, and I love the two HDMI inputs because I needed a couple more for our gaming systems to plug into! Do be careful with your router and the dedicated WI-FI channel for the surround sound speakers can cause issues with even our Nighthawk router. I’ve ended up plugging in an Ethernet cable to the TV just to help out. Also, you’ll definitely want high quality speaker stands to hold the rear speakers as they are heavier than what others are rated at and are also on the larger side. Ended up buying on Amazon some Kanto 32” speaker stands. The materials for the sound system are high quality and I like that all of the mesh isn’t soft fabric but actually metal. The little hidden screen on the soundbar is handy even though I’ve seen reviews that view it as distracting and unnecessary due to the availability of the LG Sound App. I like it though. I can change the volume while watching TV and the soundbar displays the volume instead of blocking the view on the TV. Very happy I bought a sound bar with rear speakers!

Very nice sound quality and plenty of deep base. Voices are clear too. Easy to hook up and get running overall. Did run into a bit of a snag with blue-ray player and TV but mostly easy to hook up. I don't have room for the two back speakers without wall mount and haven't gotten around to that yet but am pleased with sound without them. Best of all, seamless volume control from my Sony TV remote (on/off too) so no need to ever use supplied remote other than initial setup.

Very easy to set up and sync the rear spearers. This replaced a 15 year old $4,000 Bose system with 5 cube speakers. The sound isn’t perfect match but is still very very good. We are very happy with it.
Two things. The sound bar is huge. Long and deep. Look at the measurements. The rear speakers are huge. Shoe box size almost. Had to buy two different speaker stands and buy longer screws at Lowe’s but finally got them on the stands. Just FYI

I had this sound bar for a few weeks before returning it. I could never get the left rear speaker to work perfectly - the audio would cut in and out all the time which was very frustrating. I’m sure I could have contacted LG for a replacement, but I’m sick of customer support phone calls and just want things to work out of the box... The latest firmware update did not solve the issue and I did not have a router in the area causing interference.
The sound quality of the system was pretty good overall, but I found it very comparable to the Samsung HW-K950 that I’ve had for a few years. One of the features I did enjoy on the SN11rg was the eARC support, which allows you to get Atmos from your TV’s built in streaming apps (amongst other things).
Ultimately, at the $1,600 price tag, I needed this sound bar to 1) work perfectly, i.e. no surround speakers cutting out, and 2) be a big improvement over my previous Samsung sound bar. Unfortunately it fell short for both. I’ve decided to go with a fully wired home theatre system, as the wireless products just haven’t proven to be very reliable over the years. I do recommend this sound bar if you’ve never had a top of the line sound bar before.

Okay but having some issues - Could be User Error

Was fairly easy to setup. Having some problems with sound quality. Sound at times sounds garbled and the narrator of the story seems to be drowned out by background music and/or background sound.
Also having problems when using my TIVO Bolt Off Air tuner when connected to sound bar. There are times the receiver is not recognized and must perform extra steps which sometimes but not always works.
The included mounting brackets are not the easiest to install. Measurements must be exact. There is no room for error when it comes to attaching the single screw from the bracket to the bottom-side of the soundbar. Some may to prefer to set it on a shelf in lieu of the included brackets.
Again, the technical issues might be fixable via settings. Have just not been able to locate that fix yet. I still like the soundbar, and i am a very picky person..

This premium soundbar system from LG packs a punch, to both your ears and your wallet. I've had this now for a couple of months to pair with my new C1 and I have been very pleased. There have been a few instances when the sound will stop coming through the speakers even though my tv output is set to eArc and all the cables are still connected. I've found that it can be 'reset' by unplugging the soundbar and turning it back on.
The bar itself is massive and we had to get a new tv stand to accommodate the length. The rear speakers are also rather large but they fit well on [Sanus - 28" to 42" Adjustable Height Speaker Stands for Satellite Speaker (2-pack) - Black] with the addition of a slightly longer screw that I found in a toolbox of mine.
I'm not sure if this system is worth the additional cost, and it's definitely not for everyone. But I enjoy it and would recommend if someone were looking to get a surround sound system and price wasn't a large concern.

Easy set up. If looking to wall mount might be bulky since it’s depth is greater than other brand’s sound bars. We currently have on a floating shelf and looks great. (Originally had it mounted under our portrait LG tv but took away from flat/seamless look. Night mode is clutch for quick audio changes. Setting up the app was tricky and time to time it auto logs us out which can be a pain.

I wanted something that would pack a heavy punch but without the clutter of wires and sound systems across the entire room. This system is wireless, making it super easy to keep a clean aesthetic environment. I literally have never passed 50% volume because it works too well. It has no sound distortion when increasing volume. Keeps bass true at higher volumes without compromise. I honestly don't think i'll ever need to buy another system for the rest of my life lol.
I bought this system because i wanted something future proof for my upcoming technology ramp up. Having a HDMI HDCP 2.2 (2) inputs and (1) output is great. Especially when supporting DTS Digital Surround, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS:X, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Surround, Dolby TrueHD! Along with true 4k HDR video and audio passthrough.

Bough this about 2 moths ago for my home theater and I’m not really happy with it. Sound good but I think for the prices it could be better. The 2 back speaker I don’t really feel the noise from the back, only the front sound bar work sounds loud, the subwoofer is not loud. I just think for the price it sells would be for not to hear ourself talk type of sound. Is just not worth the over $1,500.

We recently upgraded our TV to a 65” LG OLED CX from the 55” C9 from 3 years ago. So naturally we upgraded our sound bar from the SJ9 to the SN11RG. I read a bunch of reviews ahead of time and almost got the Samsung QR90 but decided to stick with LG because they have been so good to us. I’m glad we did.
The setup was incredibly easy. I did move my router because previous reviews said having it too close could cause issues - plus the LG instructions advised to keep the router a meter away.
I waited 10 days to post this review just to make sure it held up and it has. I haven’t experienced any dropping of speakers or ANY problem at all.
The system excels when it has a Dolby Atmos source. The sound immersion is AMAZING. However, I tried it with all kinds of sources and wasn’t disappointed in any of them. In fact the surround sound on “normal” movies came through very nicely.
We do have a fairly small room in which we have this so that may be why we had such phenomenal results but I have no way of verifying that.
I would definitely recommend.

I have lag in the sound playing Xbox x, I tried everything, I even bought new cables, the only way to not have that problem was to connect my xbox x to the bar directly, but I lost the option of 1440 (120 Hz) and Dolby Vision (which is supposed to be has via Passthrough ). My tv is LG cx 65 inch.
The best thing was when I called LG and asked technical support, if the bar was HDMI 2.1 (on the page before it said yes, now they have removed it) and they tell me their bar is HDMI 2.3, I told them that is HDCP 2.3.....So i told them: you know, I see that I'm wasting my time. So I ended the call, there was no point talking to someone who does not understand the difference between HDMI and HDCP.
In the end the bar returns because paying so much for this to happen is not acceptable.
P.S. My first option was to ask for help in my Best Buy store, to the supposed specialist in LG products that they have in the store, which sent me to tell another employee that she was busy, that it would be better for me to call LG.
I have been a best buy customer for many years, I am even what they call Elite Plus, for a couple of years, but I see that this is how they treat people now.

The sound quality and creation of the audio stage is amazing. Sound truly does seem to engulf you with great Atmos films.
My only complaint is that E-ARC seems to cause audio dropping and eventual loss occasionally. I find it odd, especially since I have it paired with a LG CXPUA TV.

Purchased this for my entertainment system and does this sound good. Bass was not as deep as I would have hoped, but speaker size makes a big difference.
