Great new additions to SN11RG from last years SL10

Going from the SL10RG to the SN11RG I figured it would be basically the same system except some new and improved additions. AI room calibration (Awesome Feature if you do it right) and my favorite, the Truly wireless & up firing rear speakers.
The SN11RG is awesome, but it seams to lack the incredible power the SL10RG. I have only had the bar for a short amount of time and really haven’t had a lot of time to mess with the settings to much so maybe I can make some adjustments to get it to reach the same power as the SL10RG but either way the new additions I mentioned earlier are well worth the loss of a little bit of bass.

Firmware update bricked my subwoofer, not uncommon

When it worked at its prime, it was a great sounding system with great Atmos performance. After quite a few firmware updates over the last several months, performance has declined, and you get the impression that LG really doesn't know how to properly calibrate its own sound profiles.
Furthermore, like many other people, after a specific firmware update that was sent out in November, my subwoofer no longer connects to the main unit, rendering the entire system useless. LG seems to think it's appropriate to ask you to ship them the entire bar and subwoofer (using one box and shipped at your own expense) so that they can "look" at it, with no promise to actually fix the problem, and if you're out of the one year warranty period, you're out of luck, as you will be charged for any repairs.
Thankfully, I purchased the Geek Squad Protection Plan last year, and will be bringing it in to the store shortly. But for many others, they are out of luck with this expensive brick of a system. The answer to fixing it seems to be replacing the PCB board inside of the subwoofer, the part number for this is EBR89625801. It is frequently out of stock and backordered at several reputable parts distributors, however.

Amazing sound especially in atmos 120fps pass through for gamers with capable TV clear sound quality just as good as full 7.1 setup in most cases very punchy bass its a little pricey but well worth it

I’m very happy with this sound system. It was very easy to set up and I love the fact that there aren’t any speaker wires to run. Works great. Very happy.

I recently purchased this sound bar for our family living room. After a sub par super bowl performance, I literally gave up on receivers and speaker arrangements. Dare I say it? Best move ever. From the beautiful dark metallic look, to the bass appropriate sound of Dolby Atmos movie experiences. This system was well worth the on sale price of $1499.99. Because of this recent addition to our home. I went out and purchased the LG SP9YA along with the wireless rear speakers for my man cave to compliment my LG 75 inch TV.

Tried the cheaper 3.1 soundbar and was not happy with it. Exchanged it for this model and I am extremely impressed by it. Comes with the two additional speakers that you would need to order separate with the other models.
The only issue is it’s as long as my 65inch TV, which isn’t necessarily bad but it’s hard to find a tv mount that’s big enough to hold the soundbar under the tv. But the sound bar does come with direct wall mounts for the soundbar and the extra speakers. I am just using it in my RV so the mounting isn’t as practical.

The sound is great, though the off/on functionality is a bit hit or miss. Sometimes it turns on when the TV is on, sometimes not, but overall a good system. Only wish there was more functionality to it.

Highs and mid range are great but has very low to no bass at low volumes. Must be turned up atleast halfway before bass is noticed. After that the bass is great.

A meh and a skip

Meh. That's pretty much the jist of this review. But if you want the details:
This is a beautiful system. The bar and the surrounds are beautifully made, heavy too real quality stuff... Sub on the other hand meh. Looks generic like it came from a HTIB system from 2009.
System does 5.1 tracks very very well... Lovecraft Country on HBO, near the end of the 1st episode they're in a forest and these giant dog like creatures start stalking them... You hear them all around you rustling in the leaves... Just beautiful. Mad Max Fury Road also plays very well. ATMOS and DTS X are hit and miss so don't use that as your primary reason for getting this thing. Music plays good, clear powerful vocals and instruments but weak bass though... More on that. 5 channel stereo music was too loud and harsh so left it as Original Sound.
The issues:
The sub is mediocre at best. While watching movies it wakes up a lil bit but it's meh for the most part. We got spoilt by the Bose Bass Module 700 and the Sony HT-ST5000 those systems are beasts!
The center channel has this weird behavior where it's fine for most of the scenes but gets real low during action scenes and if you bump it up, then after the action dies down, it becomes too loud!
The last straw was when we found out that this bar is the reason our WiFi kept crashing. Went through 3 routers thinking they were bad, but this thing was the culprit the whole time!!!
In conclusion: at $1500 plus another $300+ for the extended warranty, it's not worth it to deal with such issues. So sent the unit back happily too. Got store credit but that's ok in the process of building a complete 5.1.4 system with the credit I got back.
Recommendations: at this price point get the Bose 700 and matching sub or the Sony HT-ST500. If on a lower budget, get the JBL Bar 9.1 and if on an even tighter budget, get the Klipsch Cinema 600. Skip this bar altogether.

Overheating?

I don’t typically write reviews on here but given the regular cost of this thing I felt inclined to.
Before buying this, I’ve used a Vizio 5.1 channel atoms setup that at the time ran for around $600. I figured, a $1700 LG 7.1 channel system on sale for $1000 was a steal, so I got it cause you can’t pass that up.
In the three days I’ve owned and used this, it has overheated multiple times each day. At least that’s all that I have been able to deduce because of the temperature of the HDMI cables when the system locks up. They are scalding hot.
Granted, this happened mostly while gaming, but I couldn’t go more than an hour before it would just stop working. Wasn’t able to turn it off or anything.
I may have gotten a dud. Idk. But for $1700 on a normal day, whoever is paying that price deserves to have absolutely no issues.
When it did work though, the sound was fantastic! That’s the worst part about this whole experience. I love love love the system, but for even the $1000 sale price, absolutely not worth it.
