It was very hard to set up . It isn’t user friendly for people who just want to watch a show. You need to use HD channels also.

If I could give this TV 0 stars, I would. Purchased in August. In September, a vertical blue line appeared on the screen. I’ve been trying to get LG to send someone out to fix it since September. They finally sent someone this week, and the new panel they sent is defective. The TV worked well for one month, but I don’t recommend buying this TV unless you enjoy dealing with frustrating customer service, waiting two months for a repair, and your TV still not being fixed. Never. Again.

We have had this TV for a couple of months now - we bought it for our basement for general TV show and football watching, and for those purposes it does an outstanding job. There are a few things you should be really aware of when making this purchase, as the price may seem too good to be true: 1) This is obviously not nearly going to be as good as an OLED panel. LG makes incredible OLED TVs with deep blacks and vibrant colors - this isn't it. 2) The actual blacks on the panel are actually very poorly and unevenly lit. If you're watching the end credits of a movie, say, you'll notice that the center third of the screen turns almost a ghostly grayish white, almost like the credits were rolling over a black-to-white gradient. The same unevenness of the panel also spreads to the corners. But of course this isn't intentional, and it's distracting if you plan to watch a lot of dimly-lit, dark films. 3) Viewing angles are ok - not great. This last point is particularly important when deciding where to put this TV in your home. We have a rectangular basement and placed it on the narrow end of the room - this means that there's not as much room for someone to get to the sides of the TV and notice the viewing angle degradation. If you put this in the center of a very wide room, however, there's a good chance you're going to notice. It's just not up to snuff with the plasma TVs or even very good LED TVs for viewing angle. 4) Sound is EXCELLENT. This was a major surprise. We use a Samsung soundbar with the TV, and I will say that for regular TV viewing the soundbar is absolutely unnecessary. Sound is big, loud, room-filling and actually pretty full. It's a little muffled, but not noticeably compared to the soundbar. We are huge fans. 5) The interface is irritatingly clunky. Truthfully, you should never really be buying TVs for their user interface - it's the panel and sound that matter most. But at the same time, I wanted to call out WebOS as it has always had a reputation for being lightweight and responsive. On this TV, the OS bogs down quickly when you're running any kind of internet streaming app. If you have Hulu on and want to change the sound input, it slows to a crawl. It happens frequently enough that it becomes frustrating, especially considering that nowadays so much of TV viewing is through apps, not channels. It's potentially something that could be rectified with good software updates, for which the TV has gotten quite a few, but the continued lag makes me concerned the hardware is underpowered to support the OS. The TV technically supports Google Assistant but our Google Homes don't recognize the TV as a permanent part of the home network and can't even turn it on by voice. In short, you're paying the $1200 for the size - 70 inches is nothing to sneeze at - and the admittedly very good sound. Not much else. If that's what matters to you, and you don't plan to place it in a room wide enough to make the viewing angle degradation glaringly obvious, and don't mind the uneven backlighting, it's a good buy.

Just after 1.5 years of usage, it broke already. There’s no power or picture, we did all the troubleshooting with no luck. The red light turns on or off when we turn the TV on.

Found This TV on sale online. Only had a couple reviews on it but I really liked the price so I took a chance and I am sure glad I did. After spending some time playing around with the settings, I was able to get it dialed in and the picture quality is phenomenal. Out of the box my back light setting was set at 90 which is way tooooo high in my opinion so I dropped it down to 40 and man what a difference. I will probably bring it down a bit more just to make my final tweaks on it. Watching the Stanley cup playoffs and some baseball on it was pretty sweet too because the processor was able to handle the frame rate and gave me a smooth picture with the fast paced action. The sound I feel is outstanding and does not sound cheap at all. Playing a Blu Ray movie on it blew the wife and kids away with the resolution and I can only imagine how it would look like thru a 4k player which is next on the list. I don't have anything bad to say about the apps because it has everything we need .For the size and the price I could not be more happier with my purchase, the sound and picture quality to me just put it over the top!! Buy it you will not be disappointed! Disclaimer: I am not a techie but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night

It's hard to get a tv this big at this kind of price. Picture quality and performance have been good. I have an issue with the way local dimming works on this tv. I wish the screen would dim properly/more uniformly across the entire screen. It's really weird to see a black screen with something white in one corner but then just see that part of the screen lit up. Really throws me off during gaming when I'm trying to be immersed in the action. I also wish navigating through the menus was a bit faster and more responsive. All in all, a good tv but I can tell where LG cut corners and that's what keeps this from getting 5 stars.

This tv is Awesome! I bought a samsung 65mu8000 and the screen would go black. So I returned it and got this LG 70". The picture on this lg is even better than the samsung I returned. The blacks are pure jet black. No light blur on the sides of the tv. Pure black edges and widescreen bars. I've had two lgs prior to this and they both had light bleed on the sides and the blacks were grayish. This tv is awesome. Very heavy. I had to get neighbor to help me put it on the stand. The tv is metal, unlike most plastic tv's. The legs are solid silver metal. I was expecting plastic frame and legs. I must say this is the best tv I've had. Excellent colors and super deep pure blacks. I highly recommend getting this bad boy.

Expect the factory settings out of the box to have the display VERY dim and not bright. For days I was dredding returning this TV because the screen was VERY dark. It looked horrible. I compared it to a ~2010ish 24 inch Dynex TV in my kitchen and that old tv looked WAY better than this 70 inch 4K HDR TV. I reset all settings several times. Then finally found that the ”Energy Saving” was set to auto, which you would think is fine but it made the screen look absolutely horrible. I thought the backlight was out or something was broken with the TV. I turned the energy saving off and it now looks amazing. Be advised - Turn energy saving off if you want a good looking picture. Tv has great sound and looks amazing with my Nintendo switch.

Great tv with unbelievable picture and sound that is much better than other televisions. However very disappointed that certain apps are not available on the lg store. Before purchasing the tv I specifically asked if certain apps were available and was told yes, when I got home all main apps were not available for download such as hbo, Nickelodeon, mtv and many more. Overall pretty satisfied since the tv is really nice, just wish I knew certain apps would not be available

DO NOT BUY A LG TELEVISION . The televisions have issues that LG knows about but hopes the issues won't happen til the warranty expires. Very short life on the LED bulb strip on LG televisions and when you contact LG about the issue they send you a trouble shoot page and if that doesn't work for you they just ignore you. You are better off BUYING any other brand . I got fooled buying this LG but NEVER AGAIN.
