Took awhile to setup but now I'm very happy

I read a LOT of the reviews on this site and others because I have an atypical circumstance. I had a 75" Samsung purchased from Best Buy in 2015. By 2017 the screen started to have problems right after the warranty expired - one single thin red line that never went away, and then a series of progressively worse and worse dark, mottled areas. Lots of image burn issues. Now - in fairness, my TV is on a LOT. I have it in my living / dining room where my dining table is used as my desk and the tv is my computer monitor. I'm an interior and lighting and wall paper designer so even when I'm not watching TV or working on the computer I leave the TV on as a monitor streaming images that I create to make custom screensavers as art. The tv gets a lot of use. For that reason I decided against the newer technologies such as OLED. 1) image burn has been mentioned as not covered by their warranties and 2) they're expensive and I was mad that I had to shell out a few thousand dollars again just 3 1/2 years later. The $999 sale price on this unit got my attention. AND based on my atypical needs it seemed like this older technology might actually be the better choice for me. I did read the reviews where people say it's a dark screen. IT IS. And for the first few days I was stricken by how dark it is. As I said I'm a designer and I'm very specific about the lightscape in my pad. I keep light levels very bright in the day and very dim at night. So I like the TV being dark; honestly my old TV was too bright. But for the first few days of having this TV I played around with the settings over and over and over trying to find the right balances and I really wasn't happy until I finally figured out where the back light setting is. I didn't want it on because of energy use concerns. I'm in an apartment and the circuitry here leaves me in the position of having a LOT of electrical fixtures and devices all on one circuit covering several spaces. So keeping my wattage consumption low is critically important. I have lights EVERYwhere. Finally I found the back light in settings, and it does have 3 brightness levels (and different energy consumption levels) so I chose the middle, and separately turned up the brightness (which is also hard to find in the settings) and now it's all good. ------------------------------ So my message is - you've really got to play with the settings. A LOT. Be patient with yourself. It took me days to get it right. What I do really like is the settings can be customized independantly for each HDMI port. That's very nice. Now that I've got everything calibrated for my unique interior space and my very particular eyes I'm quite happy. And proud of myself for not breaking the bank. It's my first LG. I'll check back in a year and see if I need to clarify / retract anything here. Not that this exact model will be available then. If you have a chance to get this unit on sale I'd say DO IT. -------------------------------- One last thing - being a designer with a wall of upholstered panels behind the TV / computer monitor and my whole pad being very dark with lots of black I was very concerned about the grey frame on the TV. It looked very light in the product images and when I asked a question about it for community answers on another web site, I heard some answers that scared me into thinking I might not be happy with a gun-metal, silvery frame. I'm pretty color perceptive and persnickety and as far as I'm concerned this is a black frame. It's great. I'm relieved. *whew*

Great Picture & features But Bad Warranty Service

I bought this TV on Nov/22/18 and in less than 3 months, the lines were all over the place. Also, there was an area that looked like cracked from inside. I reached out to the LG customer service, going back and ford, and they first decided to send a technician to take a look into it. I was OK with that, but they wanted to charge me over $100 for only the visit. I refused that and wanted to speak with a supervisor to give me a resolution for this issue. Therefore I eventually spoke with an executive supervisor and they kept telling me that, according to the pictures that I sent, because there is a crack in the panel, the ONE YEAR WARRANTY does not cover that. WHAT DOES THE ONE YEAR WARRANTY COVER THEN? I informed them that nothing touch the TV. This is again all from the inside panel; the outside screen is not broken or something. Also, I forgot to mention that when I got the TV, after couple days, I noticed that the outside screen is NOT installed properly. What I mean by that is if I pushed the outside screen from all the sides, left/right/up/down, by my finger, the screen will go inside and will leave a big gab; however, they said this is relevant to the issue. If it is relevant to the issue, it should be gab only on the area that looks like it is cracked, left-bottom side, not all the sides of the TV. I should have returned it when I saw the gap, but I unfortunately didn't, and I think I will be taking the long way to get a resolution for this issue. Finally, I want to say that the TV has a great picture with great features, and I just wanted to post my experience here, so everyone is aware of this.

I've been searching, researching and going back and forth whether I wanted to get a 70+ TV or not. The price scale jumps so dramatically once you get above 65. That being said, LG has had a great track record the past few years and after looking the past few months, this deal was bound to come. Folks, you're not going to get a better TV for the size, not to mention tech/features at 75inch for $999. As far as tech and features, this doesn't have the smart remote or other gimmicky sales tools of the higher priced models but it's essentially the same panel and processing power you're going to get before spending $1,600+. If you're going to use a smart device or alexa, it's not worth spending the extra cash for those. Full HDR support which was the main thing I was looking for, easy calibration and setup. I had it narrowed down to a Sharp at 75 and Sony at 70 (both inferior panels) for similar price points. No cons to report of other than if you want the gimmicky backlighting and shut-off of pixels with OLED, go ahead and spend the extra $1,000+, that price point within 1-1.5 years is going to be cut in half. The recent report out on OLED models is LED burn after limited hours/usage which doesn't fair well for any of the brands. You can also get this same model at 70 inches for $699 (ends black friday) which is an incredible deal that I promise you WON'T see again, for a long time. And no...I'm not a Best Buy sales person.

I advise those who spend $1000 on a LEMON ATI contact the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, Consumer Protections Board and the NYS Attorney General to start a class action and do not Buy LG anymore. If you research LG Electronics they have MANY COMPLAINTS for Not honoring WARRANTY and selling DEFECTIVE SMART TV’s where repairmen are coming over and over to OPEN THE TV to try to fix. That’s called deceptive marketing and it’s ILLEGAL My other half has all LG Tv’s in the house. We purchased this 75” and at the 90 day mark it BLANKED OUT completely. All you see is the LG sign. Called customer service they made a same day appointment for someone to look at it between 5pm and 9pm and we get a call at 3:30pm Stating they are no showing up for repair they know it’s the MOTHER BOARD that many of the LG tv’s have this problem, and they will be ordering the part and making an appointment for another date to come in and open up the tv. There isn’t any space in my living room to open this up or lay it down anywhere and I SHOULD NOT have to REPLACE a MOTHER BOARD main operating system after purchasing a BRAND NEW television. I told the repair man to come out and explained what I just stated herein. They told me to call LG customer service to inform them the mother board is shot and I want a REPLACEMENT. they put a claim. Sent me a link to verify purchase. I uploaded a receipt and they denied it twice stating there was no reason to replace it. Moral of the story is I advise you do not buy any LG product as they will not stand by their warranty.

I bought this set at the Thanksgiving 2018 price, and it was worth it! As others have stated, this TV's picture doesn't look great out of the box, but with some setting changes it looks stunning. Not OLED stunning, but then again it was at least $2000 cheaper than a comparably-sized OLED (or even Samsung QLED). As others have also mentioned, the UK6190 seems to be a Black Friday 2018 model that LG produced, and which other major electronics retailers also carried at a reduced price in late 2018. Because of that, if you want a good baseline for configuration, search the Google for "RTINGS LG UK6570 review". Near as I can tell, this set (75UK6190PUB) is basically the LG 75UK6570, just without Bluetooth, 1 less HDMI port, and no compatibility with LG's Magic remote. This set also uses RGBW and the 6570 doesn't, which probably doesn't matter unless you review TVs for a living. Anyway, since it is basically the same TV as the UK6570, if you go to that review mentioned, there is a section of their review that lists out all of their recommended calibration settings, which is a great place to start, and then tailor to your liking. I use mine with a 9.2-channel Dolby Atmos AVR (Onkyo TX-NR787) so I have no comment on the TV's built-in sound or the lack of more than 3 HDMI ports. Sorry, not sorry. :-) Overall, very happy with my purchase!

    Good solid TV

So far it seems like a solid value for the price - I got the 75" model. BestBuy delivery was no-nonsense... guys brought it in and set the box where I wanted it and left. Good service. I had cleared out my old 73" DLP and set it up in another room. Using the same stand as my old tv, I already knew the side mounts on this 75" would not work so I had pre-ordered and assembled a square center mount that connects to the tv via VESA holes. I recommend these... for $60 awesome... heavy tempered glass base, solid back designed to hold up to 80" tv's... best thing about the mount is it rotates so the tv can easily be out of the way to access ports in back, etc... or different viewing angles. TV looks great. Only issue so far was HDMI2 seemed to go out and I had to UNPLUG the TV to reset it. Nothing else worked. Seems to be enough adjustments and custom settings to make it look the way anyone would want. Brightness is great... coming from a DLP that's the killer feature for me and also the crystal clear resolution. We will see if the motion is top notch. I believe I have only seen any stuttering when using the built-in APPS... which is fine for me... I usually run a super fast NVIDIA SHIELD TV... it was not working for a while due to the HDMI2 issue. Seems like a good tv that I love so far. We will see how it holds up. DLP cons or no, that DLP lasted forever and only ust started with the white dots which mean a $200 board needs replacing. It was time to update. Lucky guest has a 73" tv at the foot of bed now. Good enough for kids to watch shows on for sure. 75" looks about the same as the old 73" size wise though. GLAD I didn't go with the 70"

Great picture, HDR 10, plenty of setting and it has channel plus. This is a free service that adds 150 iptv streaming channels with guide to your lineup. I have a digital antenna and my tv hooked up to an indoor antenna and I have 180 plus channels. The best is that you just go thru your channels with no hassle of having to go in an other menu. I use it with my xbox one x and I can already see the difference from my sharp 4k tv. On the LG the picture is definitely better and in forza horizon 4 you can clearly see the metal flakes in my car paint. On my sharp roku tv 65" it looked like the car is wet and had like a rainbow effect over the cars black paint. The only downside are the 3 hdmi that cries out cheap but that is not the case. Even the back of the tv is aluminum not plastic (very thin tv) . Overall I dont think you can get a better tv for under 1000$

    I Hate this TV

I know hate is a strong word, and I do not use it often, but I really do hate this TV. I purchased this TV to go in my downstairs living room. The picture quality is not as good as my 65 inch Vizio, but its size is so grand, I was ok with it. The upsetting part is the TV refuses to stay connected to the internet. When I say refuses, I mean refuses like a toddler going through his "terrible twos phase." If the TV has been off for any amount of time, it is is not connected to the WIFI when I turn it back on. I must try several times to reconnect while standing on one foot and praying to the Greek Gods for guidance. I don't actually have to do all of that, but it feels like it because it never connects on the first try. When it does connect it randomly jumps off WIFI like it has a warrant and it just saw the police. I hate this TV!! Did I mention it is not very user-friendly? The settings are not as easy to navigate as my other smart TVs (which miraculously all remain connected to the wifi "till death do them part"). I originally had a 65 inch TCL smart TV in its place, which I relocated to the upstairs game room. Since installing this "electronic picture frame," I now have to watch TV upstairs in the game room on the TCL or in the media room on an ancient Fred Flinstone not smart TV (thank God for the Firecube) that is more reliable than this piece of crap. It's pretty and looks lovely on my wall. However, I want a functioning SMART TV, not a trophy wife!!

I was looking for a bigger TV to replace my 55" Samsung that was close to 10 yrs old. I wanted another Samsung because I've had multiple and have been happy with the quality. I found this LG and wasn't sure at first, but after looking at the spec's and reading reviews. I made the decision to go for it and I'm happy I did. The other TV I wanted was 60% more expensive but I couldn't find any reason for it. My friend plays video games and said it's all about the refresh rate. I only play games occasionally so I wasn't too concerned. The size is great and the picture is really nice huge improvement over my old TV. Movies and TV shows look amazing colors are bright and vibrant. The only issue I've had is watching live mma ppv fights there seemed to be a little blurriness with fast movement. This is probably the refresh rate my friend was talking about but I don't think it's the TV's fault and I don't think spending $500+ more is worth it. I've only had the TV up a d running for a week but definitely like it for it's picture quality and at the sale price its hard to beat.

    My first 4K tv

Bought this 11-10-18 for $999. My first 4k. Used to have a 55" Panasonic 3D but they just don't make 3Dtv's anymore. Not a fan of the feet being spread so far it's right at 60 inches foot to foot so make sure your stand handles that unless mounting it. Love the 75" size. I don't have a ps4 pro or a 4k bluray player but the tv does have Netflix if you want to upgrade to their 4k package but they pretty much just have their own tv series and both Ghostbusters movies to choose from. Meh. I do love that the tv has Plex in their apps that helps. Watching standard content is par for being pretty crappy looking. Blurays look awesome. With Plex it helps if you're streaming 1080p content. Navigating to the video/audio type settings isn't quick on the tv but I do like the amount of settings. Has HDR and the 4k looks amazing if its full-on 4k. Sound - speakers are actually pretty good. Older tv's always sounded super hollow.

I cannot say enough about this TV. Bought this on the pre Black Friday sale for $999. We upgraded each room to a larger TV and this 75” replaced a 60” TV on the wall which went into the Master Bedroom. The picture is beautiful and crisp and the color is awesome. The sound is what is amazing. We have a great ZVOX Soundbar that we kept with the new TV because in past experience, big screen TVs have horrible sound like our other 2 TV’s do. We tested the sound on this TV before setting up the ZVOX because we had read this had very good speakers and Ultra Surround with 7 virtual channels plus there are 5 speakers in the front that face downward. The sound is incredible! Finally a big screen TV where you don’t need a Soundbar. If you get it set just right, you hear every little sound and it feels like sound is coming from all angles like a true surround system does. LG offers different sound adjustments so check each one out. You won’t need any additional sound bars or speakers for this TV which is quite unusual for a big TV.

This is a really good Tv. It has all the features your looking for, some you didn’t even know you needed. The good: Screen resolution, clarity, sharpness with 4K and 1080p signals. Refresh rate (no motion artifacts) Built in WiFi and wired Ethernet Built in web channels (lots of fun exploring them) Built in Hulu/YouTube/amazon video/vudu/ and more. Sound quality is very good (fake surround is, well, fake) Size is big, and big is good. And webOS is good enough for most of you web needs. The bad: Screen could be brighter Menus take a little getting used to Remote is basic, but does the job The ugly: Still haven’t been able to get Alexa to see/connect with the tv or visa vers. Overall this is worth the price (as long as it stays at or around 1k). It is big, it is clear, it is loud if you want. Has enough connections for the average user (3 hdmi, 2 component, 1 composite, 1 usb), the stand is a bit tall and takes up more space than needed, but if you use a sound bar, the height is a welcomed thing. The sound on the tv is good enough for the average living room (20x20 is mine). Your friends will be impressed when they see the big game or movie on the big screen. I have had several big screens and this is as good as any.

I've been looking for a large TV for awhile. Spent a lot of time at Best Buy looking over their offerings in the 70-75 inch range. I'm coming from a 55 inch LG so I wanted a big size upgrade..Go big or go home. :) Anyway, I noticed that this model was listed in the Pre-Black Friday ad with a price reduction of $500 so it was the same price as the 70 inch (70UK6570PUB) and it had a better IPS panel (for my usage) as opposed to the VA panel on the 70 inch. I bought it on the 10th and had it delivered on the 15th and that was a long 5 days! Set it up, tweaked a few settings as recommended online and all I can say is.. WOW! Better picture than my 6 year old 55 inch and the larger screen make sports and streaming video a pleasure to watch. I would recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade or even as a first TV. Plenty bright in a well-lit room and even better at night. Best bang-for-the-buck TV deal out there right now!

I haven’t purchased a TV in awhile. Therefore I expected that ANY new TV would be just fine considering how far they have improved. Curtis, my sales rep, warned me that this LG wouldn’t be great for sports or content with motion, mostly because it is 60 Hz. I ignored, “it’ll be fine”, and took it home. Boy was I wrong. Certain HD shows looked fine on this set, but the sports looked blurry and just not high quality. I took it back the next day and bought a Sony X900F. I got a 65 inch, payed a few hundred more dollars, and am WAY happier. If you are all on the fence about this thing, buyer beware - boxing and unboxing was not fun at all. Took forever and I was worried I would damage it in re-boxing and transport. If you want a big, functional tv for a great price, this is fine. If you are going to watch any sports, I advise against this one.

This TV is NOT a good fit for a basement/dark room. I purchased it in April for the explicit purpose of being the focal point of my newly renovated basement/home theater and i have been left disappointed. There seems to be an issue with the back lighting and contrast of this TV when viewing films comprised of dark settings (Game of Thrones+Chernobyl+anything that has a dark setting) in the dark of my basement. I have spent quite a lot of time playing with the picture settings to try and remedy this to no avail. I have noticed that the top left corner of the screen always seems to be back lit brighter than the rest of the screen making it look like cloudy and there are 3-4 distinguishable vertical lines approximately 1" thick (top to bottom) that have this same contrast in brightness that shows right through the picture, it is subtle but it noticeable and can really ruin the viewing experience for me. I should point out that the picture is good when viewing things that are bright or playing video games. I am unsure of what i plan to (or even can) do about this, i just thought i could save a fellow consumer from going through this disappointment.

Tv was easy to connect and set up. I did not try every option on the tv, but concentrated on picture settings, as the area that is of prime importance to me is excellent picture quality. To that end, I work with "standard" as well as advanced picture settings. After quite a number of hours, and having achieved the best picture quality I could tweak out of this tv, here are my observations: The bright scenes are incredible - very bright, vibrant, good colors. Outstanding at this point. However, the downfall is in dark scenes. Here the picture washed out and displayed a dim picture with no detail. And, I observed on a "black" screen, the display had areas of varying greys and uneven light bleed through. Last, there was some "judder" as this tv only has 60Hz refresh rate. I believe that most people buying this tv still would be satisfied, particularly at this price. But for me, I did return and purchased a different one. I would recommend - understanding you do get what you pay for.

I've always been skeptical of Black Friday TV deals. After reading the reviews on this tv I decided to buy it. 75" UHD LED 4k tv for $999, sight unseen, none the less!! I picked this TV and mounted it on our wall (definitely a 2 person job, even though it only weighs around 75 lbs. The setup was extremely easy. The remote is nothing fancy, but it's simple and serves its purpose. I set the picture mode to "ifs Black Room" and I think the colors are fantastic. I'd still like to see if I can find a forum where people have tweeked the different picture settings from the "standard", but I'm not sure it's really needed. To my eye, the picture is crisp and the colors are great. I watched football on it and didn't notice any lag issues when the ball was thrown. I wouldn't be afraid of the 60hz refresh rate (which I as a little leery of before). I have surround sound so I can't comment on the TV's speaker quality. I never expect that great of sound from a tv, hence the surround sound system. You can't go wrong with this TV or the price of $999.

Bought this tv to replace my 8 year old 55" lg tv ,I've wanted a 4k since they came out,I'm all about the picture quality and sound. We live in an area where unlimited internet isn't available so all the smart apps are not being used. Set up was simple and finding all the picture settings was simple, the sound is wonderful. That is where the pros stop and the cons begin,I am not impressed with the picture quality at all,I changed all the settings multiple times and the picture stays almost grainy looking and at times and during close ups the picture has a fuzzy out line around objects it jumps from fuzzy to clear over and over. Our old LG has a much better picture than the new one, also bought a 4k DVD player and several 4k movies and am not impressed with the picture quality of it. Our old LG and blueray player was just as good.I don't know what I was expecting but was hoping for more than this. We had the other one calibrated and that may be the differince, can you calibrate a 4k ?? Over all would rather have the old LG .

I purchased this tv last night and installed this morning so please kee that in mind :). The tv is huge and the picture is really nice. I was scared because I couldn’t find any reviews and buying it online is not typically something I would do. I just couldn’t pass up the deal. We are watching Star Wars and I was impressed with everything I saw. Our living room is VERY bright. We have a two story wall off windows so the only downfall is there is a pretty big glare. It was on our old tv too but it seems larger. Guess larger tv so that could be why. Either way for the price, picture and sound I would definitely recommend buying. I’ll update this review in the future if I’m able.

I purchased this model on the Black Friday preview for $999. This is the first TV I've ever purchased site unseen and so far, so great. Picture is amazing. Absolutely amazing actually, especially in 4K. Wow! Sports look pretty great. I watched a hockey game last night and it was flawless. The only exception would be football highlights that I've seen so far on ESPN. The grass looks fuzzy and not as clear. However, this could be because I haven't hung it on my wall and at the proper distance to where I'll be watching it. Regardless, it's still a fantastic tv that I'm completely satisfied with. It is enormous and I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone. Time will tell how reliable it is though. That's my only worry as this is my first LG TV.
