    Did not meet expectations

    This TV is NOT a good fit for a basement/dark room. I purchased it in April for the explicit purpose of being the focal point of my newly renovated basement/home theater and i have been left disappointed. There seems to be an issue with the back lighting and contrast of this TV when viewing films comprised of dark settings (Game of Thrones+Chernobyl+anything that has a dark setting) in the dark of my basement. I have spent quite a lot of time playing with the picture settings to try and remedy this to no avail. I have noticed that the top left corner of the screen always seems to be back lit brighter than the rest of the screen making it look like cloudy and there are 3-4 distinguishable vertical lines approximately 1" thick (top to bottom) that have this same contrast in brightness that shows right through the picture, it is subtle but it noticeable and can really ruin the viewing experience for me. I should point out that the picture is good when viewing things that are bright or playing video games. I am unsure of what i plan to (or even can) do about this, i just thought i could save a fellow consumer from going through this disappointment.

    Bought this tv to replace my 8 year old 55" lg tv ,I've wanted a 4k since they came out,I'm all about the picture quality and sound. We live in an area where unlimited internet isn't available so all the smart apps are not being used. Set up was simple and finding all the picture settings was simple,the sound is wonderful. That is where the pros stop and the cons begin,I am not impressed with the picture quality at all,I changed all the settings multiple times and the picture stays almost grainy looking and at times and during close ups the picture has a fuzzy out line around objects it jumps from fuzzy to clear over and over. Our old LG has a much better picture than the new one,also bought a 4k DVD player and several 4k movies and am not impressed with the picture quality of it. Our old LG and blueray player was just as good.I don't know what I was expecting but was hoping for more than this. We had the other one calibrated and that may be the differince,can you calibrate a 4k ?? Over all would rather have the old LG .

    Decent budget TV but avoid if you want good blacks

    Had this TV for several weeks before exchanging it for a Samsung QLED. Honestly, it a decent TV but if you do value deep/dark blacks then you’ll probably want to avoid it. Blacks are especially bad when watching HDR content or playing HDR games. In order to take advantage of HDR, backlight levels need to be set to near maximum. When that happens, blacks start turning shades of dark gray. May not be an issue for some but for me it was the dealbreaker. SDR stuff looked pretty good on Directv and AppleTV. The set I had also had some pretty bad clouding on the entire top section of the screen. It was even worse when HDR stuff was showing (due to needing backlight turned up). However, after taking a soft towel and gently massaging the screen it mostly went a way. Couldn’t believe that actually worked! Honestly, it’s a decent set but I just couldn’t enjoy HDR content on it. As the old proverb says, you get what you pay for.

    Black Friday special, $999, for the price it’s serviceable but if I had to do it all over would spend the money for a mid-level model with higher HZ rating. Mostly use for sports viewing and this model doesn’t quite meet my expectations. Took a lot of tweaking to get the picture dialed in. Set up is easy, remote control isn’t the best. If you’re buying for movie and streaming viewing it’s pretty good.

    Coming from an eight-year-old 55 inch Samsung I was really disappointed in the performance of this TV. The clarity, tone, color composition and overall quality of the picture was off and when compared side-by-side with the aforementioned Samsung. It was an inferior picture, the sound was mediocre at best but to its credit it had good built-in apps. In the end I returned this particular set and purchased the like size Samsung for a superior viewing experience.

    We chose this TV because of an incredible price: $799 for a 75" TV. We were going to upgrade our Samsung 8-series 65" and the LG simply didn't live up to our (unrealistic) expectations. We decided to return it and get an 82" 8-series Samsung instead. You get what you pay for with this LG -- if your expectations are low, then this is a perfect TV for you; otherwise, a higher-end TV will work much much better.

    I had to reset the TV back to factory as it would hang up when using the apps. No issues since then. The other thing that really drives me crazy is the fact that you have to agree to their privacy terms to use the apps. Basically have to allow them to spy on your watching habits to use the stupid thing. I hate that part.

    The reason I put average is because my HDMI 1 wasn't working when I first tried it. I had to turn the TV off and hold the power button on the TV for 10 seconds then it worked. Then less than a week later I had to do it again. But I do like the TV, but it seems to have small troubles at times.

    I like the tv but it’s a bit heavy for the size and has issues with sound syncing. The lip movement and output sound do not match up. We adjusted several times but it’s still noticeable. Unfortunately since it’s such a big tv we will not be returning it

    Nice tv for price , got on sale. TV does capture all dark features so not the best when watching low lit movies. Also glitches when watching sometimes like the pixels won’t line up. Overall decent tv if you catch under $900 for the size

    In my opinion, it’s not the best in frames per second and color but if you catch it on sale, it’s decent for the value. If you’re not used to the higher priced quality versions of tv’s, then this will appear just as fine as other. I’m ok with the purchase.

    Great tv. Apps start quick! Only downfall is the tv looks kind of dim compared to other screens. Even with the brightness adjustment it looks dim. Other than that we’re happy with our purchase.

    I bought this TV because it was only $1100.00. Not impressed with the picture at all. I have done all the correct settings and still not impressed. Would spend more if I could go back.

    Enjoy the size of tv unfortunately with how small my space and how close we are to the tv we notice a lot of pixels and blurry sections . I’m sure it looks much better from a distance .
