The best large panel TV overall.

I was upgrading from a large Sony 940C which was mounted in a basement media room. We had purchased an B7 OLED a few years back for the living room, and the LCD based TV in “my room” could compare to that picture. I tried to replace the Sony TV with the massive LG IPS-based, Nano 9 series 86” TV. I was frustrated that the newer TV actually had far muddier blacks and horrible blooming problems compared to the older Sony. And the B7 was better still, so we traded up to a much higher quality picture in this C9 OLED at the expense of a smaller panel size and few thousand more dollars! The difference is worth it. This LG is expensive, especially at the 77” size. But the blacks are truly black. Blooming is practically non-existant. Star fields and boundaries between light and dark remain crisp. Subtitles are sharp. Letterboxing for movie content is as black as the tiny borders of the TV. The rest of the screen just melts away with only the movie itself visible in a dark room. This TV is also about as future proofed as one can get from a 2019 panel moving into the 2020 model year. With the alpha-9 gen 2 processor and full HDMI 2.1 support including eARC, VLL for gamers, even G-SYNC support, this TV is a super-streaming, 4K upscaling, video game playing, Dolby Vision movie watching machine. Needless to say, I am happy with the quality of the picture. The price obviously remains high, though it is comparable to the bigger 82-85” flagship models from the likes of Samsung and Sony. Only the Samsung Q90 4K and Q900 8K can attempt to hit these deep black levels albeit with higher brightness levels. Those TVs may be better for a very bright room as the C9 OLED does fine in a moderately well lit room regardless. But I’m betting one can still see the letter boxes on those TVs in a dark room, though they will beat out Sony in this regard. For my family, it was impossible to go with a larger LED TV when we already have an OLED TV in the home. Nothing else compares. I chose to give up panel size for better overall picture experience and more future proofed tech. If you can wait for six months, it will be interesting to see how the new 8K mini-LED and dual layer LCD models from China perform. For now though, OLED is still tops if you can afford it. Just be prepared to get 10” less OLED TV at the same price point compared to high quality LED based panels.

I have no regrets plunking down the chunk of cash for this TV. OLED true black makes for amazing contrast. I have had no issues with brightness during the day, and the picture is incredible in a dark room. Dolby Vision is a sight to behold. Re-watching content in Dolby Vision like The Witcher and Altered Carbon are noticeably improved. Dolby Atmos produces surprising sound for TV speakers. If you are on the fence wondering if the cost is worth it, stop wavering! Go for it! I am sure many folks could not justify spending so much on a TV, but if you want a remarkably superior visual experience this TV provides it.

I’ve only had this TV for 3 days. I originally bought the 75Q80 thinking that the difference in picture wasn’t worth the price difference. I had the Samsung for 1 week and wanted to love it but the “pop” just wasn’t there. I figured if I’m gonna be spending thousands on a TV I might as well get what I want. As soon as I mounted this LG on the wall and turned it on, I knew this was it. The darker blacks just make everything seem so much flashier. If you can afford it, get it. You won’t be sorry. Regular TV looks great, but the 4K content from BluRays and streaming services looks amazing. And Thursday night football on DirecTV 4K is phenomenal. If you don’t mind spending the moolah, you won’t regret getting it.

It's big. Real big. But not too big. It's just right. Your neighbor will stop coveting your wife and start coveting your TV. Your microwave repairman will sit on your couch and watch Free Solo with you. Your pets will get a sight touch of motion sickness. The six-pack abs you had in high school will return. Your child will get a 1600 on the SATs. And you'll wonder how you ever lived without a Magic Remote. Seriously.

So what’s not to like? Incredible blacks, incredible colors. Lots of features. Smart. Easy to use. The only possible flaw is sound but I paired it with a 7 speaker surround system with 2 subwoofers. NICE!!

I have the last curve 65 inch OLED LG made. It has 3D, HDR, and Dolby. By far this new TV I bought is faster and easier to use. I was afraid after watching the curve tv for so long a flat screen tv would not be as good. I was wrong this tv is so much better. I have tried other top of the line TVs by other companies but nothing compares to an OLED picture.

This tv never ceases to blow me away, having a QLED Q900R in the living room which makes my jaw drop, I still tend to gravitate to the bedroom where this animal is mounted up on the wall like a trophy. The deepest blacks, lead the way for the colors to pop more than ever. with 4 HDMI 2.1 ports this tv is Next Gen Gaming ready. The sound is good enough to save you the money from buying a sound bar and being able to put it towards buying a real bar to sit at. What are you waiting for, go buy this tv now!

I’m a Home Theater Enthusiast, I have a very high end Media room and I purchased this TV for my living room . I’m so impressed with the picture quality and the Black’s are perfect which allows near perfect color reproduction. It literally turns off each pixel for black, you can’t do better than that. The price is Awesome for the size of the picture! If you have the money? Don’t go 8K. BUY THIS TV you won’t regret it!!!

Phenomenal image quality but limited eARC support

This is a fantastic TV overall. The picture quality is absolutely breathtaking in HDR. The menu system is well designed and intuitive. The remote is great. My one complaint is the limited eARC (enhanced audio return channel) support. To get an audio signal from the TV to an audio receiver the TV has to send the signal over eARC. eARC is supposed to support LPCM for uncompressed surround sound audio. However, this TV only supports compressed surround sound audio over eARC. The difference in audio quality is very noticeable on a nice surround sound system. In my opinion, a high end smart TV should absolutely support uncompressed surround sound audio over eARC.

OLED is such a great tech, and it really shines when playing 4k HDR content. The blacks are amazing and the brightness for HDR is just about perfect for me. The smart tv functions are also really easy to navigate and set up, and the GUI is very responsive. The magic remote feels a little bit like a gimmick. It's a cool feature, but it's too easy to interrupt content if your controller drops off the couch, or even your lap sometimes. It's an expensive tv, which is the only drawback, but I think it'll be worth the investment. Buy once, cry once.

Upgraded from top line 65” Samsung 4K. This was my first LG TV but, it won’t be the last! It’s just TV done well. The magic remote works very well, if not flawlessly. The picture is what you’d expect from this level of equipment, the menu system is simple and powerful at the same time, and whenever I watch without the audio from my home theater, It turns Tv speakers on automatically, and back off if I power up the theater. In home calibration coming as soon as ‘Rona leaves our country.

I bought this TV to replace an LG LED 2018 model. I got lucky and bought last year model which had 972 hours on it which is equivalent to 18% of use for a fraction of the new tv cost. Picture at this size is what 4k is all about. The depth, contrast and brilliance of the picture blows me away. I am so grateful I got this on clearance and that it has the features I wanted and expected from a premium tv. What a deal!!!

I have been following the development of OLED TV's since they came out. I never though I would own one this high end. The color reproduction and contrast is still at times unbelievable. I mainly play games with it. I have an Xbox One X hooked up to it with VRR it looks great. Also the C9 has extremely low input lag. No evidence of burn in and I'm over two thousand hours.

Sharp. clear quality picture. Natural color of the picture & not too glaring / bright as compared to Samsung. Family loves it. Will recommend to friends & other relatives. Though for a 77" inch TV, it's a little bit pricey. A big jump in price from a 65" to a 77".

I always wanted an OLED TV. LG ranks top of that category. Well this TV is the best I've ever seen. The colors are so vivid and the blacks are true black. Although they claim that you need to be careful of burn in I'm not too concerned. This beauty hooked up to my 7.2 Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers with ATMOS is better than being in the theater.

I really like this tv. Had a Panasonic plasma that I was replacing. Is a little darker than my panny, but picture is very clear. Love the size! Replacing a 65" makes huge difference! A little worried about burn in. So far hasn't been an issue. Overall very satisfied.

The picture is amazing! Actual true black and no light bleed through with colors that really stand out. Love the gallery mode on this TV too. Never owned an LG before. I had a 60” Samsung that had a bad LED after 2 years so figured I’d give LG a try. So far I’m glad I did.

This is my first oled tv, and the biggest and the most expensive tv I’ve ever bought. And I’m happy to say that I don’t regret it one bit. The pictures quality is mind blowing good. I also loved the magic remote - so easy to navigate especially when watching YouTube. Overall, an all around amazing tv.

I love this smart tv. The picture quality is superb. I did a lot of research before purchasing and am glad I picked this one. The Geek Squad installed this new one, moved my old TV to another room, and did a great overall job. They were in and out fast wearing masks and foot coverings. I use with 5.1 surround system. My prior TV was 65 inch plasma; this one is 77 inches. Tip for you: If you have Direct TV giving you your picture signal, you may have to upgrade your picture box (for 4K content) like I did. There was no charge. This TV has a lot of new stuff in it which will future-proof it with new ancillary products coming out. The Geek Squad people were great answering all of my questions. They were very professional and BB keeps you constantly posted as to arrival.
