    Panel Uniformity Issues run rampant

This is the last LG TV I’ll ever buy. I’ve gone thru 3 83” C3 OLEDs & theyve all had panel issues. The 1st one had horrible jail bar like banding that is apparently due to a T-Con board defect. Everyone on TV looked like they were in prison. The 2nd one had vertical banding to a lesser degree, still very noticeable but only in horror films where the backgrounds are solid & dark colored, but it also had a pink tint to the grey’s This 3rd one has a pink tint as well but not as bad. This one also has jail bars but not as bad (still noticeable) this one also has vertical banding but its not horrible. Apparently 83” LG OLED’s are rampant with these issues & LG is well aware of it.

This tv is absolutely beautiful. Deep rich colors and perfect blacks. I can from a 100 ultra short throw projector so I do wish this tv was bigger. Otherwise I’m really happy with this tv

    Banding and Stains

I truly dont know how lg got its shills to convince you all that banding and pink stains is normal and made a 'feature' for 3 entire generations of a tv. What does that say about consumers. I have never seen such bad displays in my life. people need to run display tests and make sure that their panels are perfect and if theyre not dont keep them or lg will just keep selling us these horrible panels. First one had dead pixels, the next three had horrible lines and pink stains so that tells me that people are simply excepting these poor displays like this. When did the standard for panels drop so low and how on earth did lg convince you all that this is ok and normal? everywhere i look i see people defending these 'bands' as a feature and they (which i have to assume are lg shills) have convinced you all that banding and pink hues are normal on $5,000 panels.

Love the C3 in all sizes. LG is the current leader in OLED. Black levels are really good. and the off-angle viewing is really good. The c3 performs really well with all types of content. Only minor cons for me are the remote (I don't care for the on screen mouse - maybe this can be turned off - ive never checked). Also I think the menu could be better organized. I still give it 5 stars for picture quality

WOW!!!! This is my first OLED tv and wow the picture quality is amazing, the colors are so vibrant. I upgraded from an LCD tv and was I happy to have bought an OLED instead of a mini led one. I actually put my old tv next to it and played the same content just to see the difference and I was blown away on how much better this TV is. I would highly recommend this TV

Perfect picture! This is my second LG OLED 83, Trading up from the C1, but honestly not that big of a difference in picture quality though the C3 is supposed to be brighter. Still find the "magic" remote a bit annoying, but you get used to it. It does make controls easier once you realize how to use it effectively. I did not evaluate the built-in sound since I use it with an external amp and speakers.

    83" LG C3 or 83" Sony A80L

I was in the market to upgrade from 77" Sony A80J to an 83" OLED, I have had Sony TV's for over 3 decades with NO issues. So, naturally I was looking for an 83" Sony. Unfortunately, Sony put themselves in a compromising position by only offering the 2023 model A80L in 83" this year and the lowest price at BB is $4495. So, I started heavily reading reviews on LG and Samsung, Samsung was not an option with their inferior processing etc. That left LG, as I read review after review it was apparent that LG is a heavy contender for Sony, including the processing. The 83" C3 was listed on BB on sale for $3299, big difference from same 2023 Sony, $1200. So, I decided to walk into BB to see the C3 in person. I went straight to the Magnolia section where I found 2 employees setting up a tv for display. I engaged them with questions about the difference between LG and Sony, I did not realize one of the guys was the LG rep, lol. But he was honest and admitted Sony is also a great OLED, he also assured me the C3 was its equal in image and processing. I said for the $1200 in price can Sony be that much better? That was when the sales BB guy looked in his handheld device and said the C3 was on sale today for $2500, that was another $700 OFF. I said my app still shows $3200, they said it was a walk-in deal. At this point it was a no brainer, I said let's do it now before something changes. Now as you could imagine I am still very curious and concerned about the picture etc. compared to my A80J. Well, after getting it dialed in, which was really simple, I tend to overthink, over adjust, then go back to bask setting Film Maker mode and this picture POPS, TV shows, HDR movies are brighter, the size, the image are incredible. As for processing, I don't feel I made a sacrafice. Kudos to LG, Sony, sorry but for $2000 more for same size and model year you have priced yourself into losing a longtime customer.

Upgraded from a LG 65 Oled about 4 years old. Loved that TV. This one (other than being bigger of course) is brighter, and sharper. The only negative (and not a real big deal) is LG does not have all of the streaming apps available (PBS for one) so I am not using the native system to watch apps.

I’m coming from a 2014 Samsung LCD that was well regarded in it’s day, but there is zero comparison. The inky blacks, the saturated colors, the viewing angle all are so impressive. Upscaled 1080 content looks as good as can be expected. Sports look outstanding. The brightness mostly overcomes the windows we have which are directlty across from the screen, but I’d definitely appreciate a little less gloss on the screen. The only bullet point feature I wanted but didnt get is an ATSC 3.0 tuner, but even in DFW there are hardly any channels, and I can always add an external tuner later if it becomes important to me. I am extremely pleased I opted for this over the QN90C.

The delivery from Best Buy was very professional and right on time. We bought the LG 77 C1 OLED TV 2 yrs ago to ensure the TV would fit our massive entertainment center in our family/living room. We realized after we installed the LG 77 C1, that we could’ve gone bigger up to the 83 in OLED. We decided to enjoy the LG 77 C1 OLED TV and wait for the newer and upgraded OLED’s by LG to catch a great deal. We have always been LG OLED TV fans and would buy nothing else. Once you watch an OLED all the other LED TVs don’t compare. We decided this year to go ahead and upgrade to the LG 83 C3 OLED and we absolutely love it. 77 to 83 is a huge difference!!!

Beautiful picture and relatively easy setup. I did a great deal of research over a couple of months. I purchased this online and worked with William, a Best Buy Home Theater AV Consultant, who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time with me on the phone. Price dropped a week after I purchased it and he contacted me to let me know Best Buy would honor the lower price. I mounted this on the wall. At only 70+ pounds, it was much easier than the 150 pound plasma TV it replaced. Extremely happy with the purchase and with Best Buy.

Amazing picture and quality. Only problem with the tv is fast movements dont look fluid. An example is watching the avatar 4k the birds they ride on when the wings are flapping do not look smooth it is more like watching multiple freeze frames in very fast succession.

This is just a great TV with a fabulous picture. Replace my Sony LED and huge upgrade special in off angle viewing. I bought this start of 2024 with the C4 already available but opted for the discounted C3. I can't believe how well it does with broadcast 720 and 1080i signals.
