Seem to be the built in norm lately, watch a show and get the commercial blasted at you. other issue is that you have to have 2 remotes to operate, One for TV and one for Dish.

For a TV that becomes unresponsive within the first week, one helpful step is to perform a full power reset by unplugging the unit for about 60 seconds and plugging it back in to allow the system to reboot.
