This is the one I have to buy for my basement. I watch Netflix and it is great!

The colors are great especially on HD channels!! Even without a soundbar the speakers are great for sound!

My comparison is a 2017 Sony A1E 77" that is my reference panel; this was a tv for another room, family room (non dedicated theater application). Pros: - Dolby Vision and HDR capable - the size -- wow; just immersive experience - fairly "thin" and can hug the wall with low profile mount -- looks amazing on the wall (600x400 vesa -- easy and cheap to get) - Sound is actually decent -- atmos capable with the tv speakers but I just used cinema setting and tweaked the 6 band equalizer and it sounds fairly decent. You can use optical out at same time and add a sub might be nice for this TV in the future, or a sound bar/sub combo - great color, HDR/DV is decent (not oled amazing) but decent - motion is plasma good (I had a ZT60) and as great as my 77" OLED Sony - turn off all the nannies/processing and you have a great picture; ISF bright or ISF dark is a quick way to get you near perfect settings - no lip sync issues but you can adjust if you need to - decent uniformity and no banding Cons: - gray bars -- black levels are not going to be OLED perfect, but you're not paying $30,000 for an 88" OLED, you're paying $2,000 - some mild flashlighting in the bottom left corner (only seen on ultra dark/black scenes or black bars - the LG remote -- I've always hated their "air-mouse" remotes - only 2 HDMI inputs are side mount, and the other 2 are straight mount, c'mon LG; I'll have to buy angle adapters for my two other HDMI cables as I like the tv hugging the wall and don't want to use spacers on the bracket - Ethernet input also straight mount, yuck

My random first impressions on Day 2 with my LG 86 inch LED TV. (My first experience with a LG product) Best buy Sales & delivery was good as always. Happy. Just got the TV delivered on 6/11. Un-boxing and fixing the stand took about half hour. Setup took another half hour. I upgraded from 65 inch Samsung plasma 1080p. So my comparisons are based on my experience. Size: 86 inches is humongous. Took some time to get used to not turning my head from 'left to right' to see all the action in the big screen. Even felt a a little motion sick at first :). I strongly suggest that you have your seating at least 10-12 feet away from the TV to avoid moving your head or rolling your eyes often to catch all the action. I watched a complete movie later and got used to the TV size. It was just like being in a theater. Picture quality: Great compared to my previous 65 inch. (I still like my old plasma TV for the blacks though). Watched some 4K, 8K and HD content. Most of them look the same (to me). Some of them looked lot better irrespective of it being 4k or not.. I believe it is the quality of the video and not the TV. Unless you are a enthusiast or very picky, you wont be able to easily tell the difference between this and other higher priced models. About 90+ % of people will not be able to make up the difference (on the same video) in my opinion. Sound: Way better than my Samsung. I used to have a soundbar for my Samsung. Many options for sound with this TV too.. Streaming channels: I watch mostly Youtube and Amazon Prime. The LG streaming app brought about maybe 50+ (maybe more) channels in my area. Lotta FREE TV channels now. WebOS Interface: Waaaay better than the Samsung interface and easier to use. (Not sure if the new Samsungs' have better interface now.) The google voice feature is cool and helpful for getting quick information. If you are a big google home user, you'll love it. Price: Was very reasonable when bought it. (The value of electronics gets slashed many folds in the few months.) So no complaints here either. Value for money. Looks: The looks on the TV edges is very normal and has a rather downplayed look. You don't notice the edges when the TV is on and so it is not distracting. So the CON of this could be that it doesn't look as attractive when OFF as it's OLED counter parts. Overall I am happy with all the features that I have seen so far. The 'bang for the buck' factor is very high and I love it.
