Amazing price offer for an 86" behemoth TV

This is a cautious 5 stars (4.5 stars is more appropriate). This TV fulfills my objective of getting a pretty decent gaming TV with the following characteristics: 4k, 120 Hz, and 85"+, all while being under $1500 (another website was selling for $1450, so I got bestbuy to price match from their $1500, as an FYI). The size is absolutely amazing. I wouldn't have had it any smaller. I would rather have a really good 86" TV than a really really good 75" TV. Size matters. I have an RTX 3080 Graphics Card that can do 4K at 120 Hz. The new Xbox SX and PS5 will be able to do that, too. Make sure you're using a legit HDMI 2.1 cable, and you may have to update the TV's firmware to ensure you can do 4k at 120 Hz. First off, I am not a TV buff. I just eyeballed some reviews, saw that there were very few other 85" TVs that matched this price, and went with it. I can tell that this TV maybe doesn't have the best contrast. When I play some games, I maybe notice that in dark environments, it may not do as well as I'd like. Then again, I haven't ever had a super expensive TV to compare to. In brighter environments, it's fine. I admit, I haven't played around too much with the TV's picture settings, other than putting it on game mode. I think rtings.com is a website which gives some good advice on adjusting the settings. So basically, my contrast/darks aren't the best, but maybe I can calibrate it some more. Even still, it won't compare to a TV that costs $3000. That's why you're paying $1450. Still, whether I'm playing Microsoft Flight Simulator (which looks amazing on this TV), COD MW/Warzone, etc, having a TV that's this big is too hard to believe. I use this as my desktop monitor. I'm not someone that cares about getting an actual gaming monitor. I just want something that's massive, and for $1450, this is great. Could the quality be a bit better? Sure. Do I care that much? Not really, b/c when you look at the competition, you're talking about spending 2 or 3 grand, easily, for the best quality. It's like the difference between getting something that's an 8/10 and something that's a 10/10. Would I change my decision? No. And that's the point of my review. You're paying $1450 for an absolute behemoth of a TV, and if you aren't super particular about contrast/blacks. you'll fall in love with it. Now whenever I look at any TV that's smaller (even 75"), I can't help but notice how much smaller they feel, having upgraded from a 55".

86” tv 18500 series and it looks great on our wall. With 14’ ceilings it is not too large and we are sitting about 18’ away from where it is mounted. Perfect! I liked being able to choose a scheduled delivery at a time that was convenient for us through Best Buy appointment manager. All employees we talked to were very pleasant and we are enjoying figuring out all the new features. We are using it with a Bose sound system to enhance the audio quality.

This thing is HUGE!! It was easy to pop the legs on and get it going. There are so many different features, I'm not sure I will ever get to figure it all out. The picture is great; sound is ok. It sounds MUCH better with the soundbar attached.

Decent TV for the size and price. PROS** It's and 4K 86" TV for less than $2K! Has a sleek design and looks good. It is HDR and Dolby Vision ready. CONS** Not the best backlight distribution, just ok for uniformity. There are noticeable lighter bands that run vertically up the screen in darker shots and considerable light bloom in the corners. This isn't a deal breaker considering the price range though. All of these issues can be mitigated by adjusting the settings to your own tastes but they never completely go away. (you will really only notice the corner bloom when you are watching a letterboxed program, on full screen programs it is barely noticeable.) I have found that the best picture quality I can get is when connected to a recent model ROKU set to Dolby Vision output and setting the backlighting to 50% From my experience the built in apps (Netflix, VUDU, etc.) don't provide the best picture quality. I recommend a dedicated device such as a ROKU or other streaming box and a quality HDMI cable. Get a sound bar, the built in speakers are acceptable but not the best.

My priority was a big screen TV. I went over many Samsung Q series, and LG Nano series TVs that are 75'' and are under a 2K price point. Both brands are premium budget TVs, with slower processor and lower refresh rate. On the other hand this is a more advanced non premium model that offers most value and processing than these models. Another thing to notice is that there will be little to no difference when you bring these specific models home and hook up with cable or stream. One key thing to note is that LG is a good Bring room tv. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I was actually advised against this by some die-hard AV enthusiasts because it lacked full array backlighting, which they said was necessary at this size. I decided to go with it anyways and I'm very happy I did. I have it in a basement without a lot of ambient light and the picture quality is great. 4k videos are fantastic and the upscaling on regular HD works extremely well. I hooked it up to a Samsung Soundbar by HDMI and it works great, I can control the volume by the TV remote (I was worried about mixing brands but they work great together). The remote itself is pretty awesome too, it can work like a remote so I've used it to browse the web on the TV. Overall very happy with this TV, particularly at the price.

Wonderful large Flat screen TVs at a fair price. I also love that Best Buy has a price match policy, so I can be confident that I am getting a good price in the market place. Picture is great and easy to operate. Shopping at Best Buy is convenient and the staff are always helpful and knowledgeable. Very happy with their products. And, there are always lots of choices of products. Delivery was also wonderful. The two gentlemen who delivered were courteous and very willing to bring the TV where we needed it. Delivered as promised, on time and in good shape.

First of all, I bought the TV and had to wait about 3 weeks to get it delivered and installed. During that time the price dropped and BB honored the difference and gave me a refund. Next, this TV is huge, no doubt it’s a showstopper. Picture quality is outstanding. I’ve been watching a lot of 90’s movies that look amazing, almost new. Recent movies are so life like. No review for sound as I have that ARC’d out to a 7.2 system. Definitely a great TV.

Great price, great picture, easy setup! I have been watching 4K TV prices looking for one larger than 80" (to replace a projector system that has a 106" display), and when I saw this one for <$1500 - I went for it. I have 2 smaller LG's and I like their image quality and ease of use. We also love the "magic remote". Setup of the LG is also very easy - with much of what one used to do manually done automatically.

Not everything is scaled to 4K some applications are not supported like YouTube.... overall solid purchase most disappointed that I didn’t wait longer to purchase at a lower price. Most like the picture, PS4 compatibility, menu accessibility, remote, & slim sleek design. Most disliked is the sound could be a bit better will definitely be purchasing a sound system soon. Also should be an option to close applications that run in background. Greatly slows down preformance and have to manually restart every time

Excellent so far - TV picture quality and size is awesome and I am happy with its smart capabilities and ease of use. Love the cursor/pointer remote which makes navigating so much quicker and easier. Coming from an owner of several Samsung TVs, LG is definitely in the game and keeping up with technology and apps. BTW - there is no such thing as a TV that is too big

Let me start off by saying I had thisnproduct delivered to my house. The guys who delivered it were very professional and kind. They were also on time and very quick, so thank you for that! Now to the TV itself... we upgraded from a vizio 60in HD tv that is 7 years old, this TV BLOWS THAT TV OUT OF THE WATER! The picture is beautiful of course I have seen better but those Tv's are VERY expensive and what you pay for this TV (I paid $1731 after tax) it is well worth the money, not to mention the pure size of it. It almost feels as though I have a small cinema in my home especially if you have surround sound! There are multiple picture settings to choose from most of them are too dark if you're in a bright room we just leave it on "vivid" and the picture is almost perfect. Gaming is also very awesome on this TV... The speakers that come with the TV sound pretty good but if you have external speakers there is no comparison. If you're on the fence about this TV or others this TV doesn't disappoint and I have ZERO regrets.

We recently built a new home with a LARGE bare wall for a wall-mount TV. We knew we needed a large format TV for this space on a budget. I researched and researched but got completely confused between QLED, OLED, UHD, Crystal UHD and all the other variations available in large format TVs. I read reviews, watched videos and found most were filled with useless details for my purposes. I finally gave up, settled on this one and ordered it, had my husband pick it up from curbside the next day. We mounted it to the wall using a heavy duty mount and turned it on. EASY to use, right out of the box. I love the magic remote. Tons of options from cable input to free internet TV to Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu and more built right in. Takes a few minutes to learn your way around all the options and how to get to the cable setting, but once we worked with it, it became pretty intuitive. The picture is CRYSTAL CLEAR! High def is seriously high definition. Great viewing from all angles in our living room. Sound is good (but we hooked it up to surround sound for a better experience). I like displaying the painting/artwork option when it is idle (my husband thinks it's gimmicky though). I would absolutely purchase this model again. The colors are super-vivid, dark scenes aren't over-dark. We broke out our most color-rich DVD immediately and weren't disappointed. We don't have this TV parked right up against another (and really, who does?), so I can't comment on how this compares to other models, but if you want a great large format TV with all the features without taking out a second mortgage, this one will definitely work for you!

You will without a doubt feel like you are at a movie theatre. I was tempted to spend another $3000 for the 77’ OLED LG tv but who am I kidding. This TV is a steal for the price. You are in awe while watching a tv this big and the display is amazing.

It’s not the best tv in its segment. It’s not the brightest tv in it’s segment. But for its price point, it’s excellent. Know what you’re buying. The picture is crisp and clear. It’s easy to use. 86 inches looks great on the wall. Bada bing, bada boom.

Despite some negative reviews, after 9 months of using this TV, we find this TV amazing. Pros 1. Wifi connection is very fast. Faster than our Samsung (UN82 model, 2019) 2. Picture is crisp, and can be viewed virtually at its sides without distorting the picture quality. 3. Built in apps and the LG App Store is quick to load, and the updates are quick and painless. 4. Setup is easy, the menu is easy to navigate. 5. Voice command is awesome. It really has made leaps forward with how accurate this feature is. Cons 1. If you're using the legs, it is wobbly. You must secure it with a TV-wall support. 2. The built-in speaks are not impressive. (Then again, who really relies on built-n speaks anyway, so not really an issue) 3. The magic remote, though convenient, is sometimes a touch too sensitive. If you are trying to spell a word, it's better to just use the talk feature on the remote. That's all I can really think of at this moment.

Love the TV, great picture and the audio sounds great too even though I’ve moved to a surround sound bar. It connected seamlessly to my LG soundbar as well. I have played switch, Xbox, and 4K HDR movies on this with no noticeable issues so far. Recommend for the price! Felt like a great deal.

Huge tv! Picture is great and sound is good. Seems easy enough to navigate. I wanted this tv because it's a smart TV and it's supposed to connect to alexa, which it does but not well but I think that has nothing to do with the tv and more to do with alexa. Overall great tv for the price!
