Bought this for my laptop that doesn't have the drive built in, and this worked perfectly. Very easy to use, and install. Quiet operation, compact, and lightweight.

Solid little external drive, truly plug and play, no drivers needed - at least on Windows 10 or 11. Doesn't feel cheap or light, able to lay flat or on its side, easy to use next to your USB connection. First time loading a disc took a push or two to get used to the pressure needed, but after the first disc, the insert/eject process was easy. Yes, a bit more expensive than other external drives, but this has the preferred software included and it's too easy to start using right out of the box. Decent warranty, portability, plug & play - worth my money.

My Mac Laptop is amazing. I like the size, its many capabilities & being so user-friendly.

This is a great little device if your primary DVD writer goes out or you have a chrome book. It quiet like a hybrid car, slot loading so you don't have to worry about a jammed door track that won't eject. Plug and play OS recognition. One drawback is the software that comes with it. It will let you burn stuff, store stuff, but no real good software to just view movies. Would I get it again knowing what I know now. Yes.

In spite of hte fact that computers no longer come wit built-in disc drives for the most part, I need to access all the research date I have on numerous CD-ROMs. This unit is easy to install: took a few seconds for my Mac to accept it. I had and Apple unit that finally gave up the ghost, and they do not make it any more. This is a more than acceptable substitute for it. Great price, t oo.

I love this design and its compatibility. It's very slim, lightweight and looks great on my desk. Awesome product!

I love it! I do a lot of music recording in my home studio so, I need quick access and quality file conversion. This modem delivers!

I was everything I was looking for. It was easy to get all hooked up and started using. I especially like that ASUS made the power connection so sturdy. Hope that means it won't quit working like the old ones. I have been using it and it works great and is very fast. I also love the look and feel. Didn't think I would like the red back lights, but I've gotten used to it.

This drive is a great value for the money, It's quiet and fast. I love the portability.

I was looking for a media drive for my new HP computer that didn't come with on and after talking to the Best Buy rep I decided to buy this one because I trust the LG brand and company and was not disappointed. It is plug and play wright out the box and works well with my new Windows 10 computer like hand in glove. I can say though one thing shocked me though and made me a mad was that the drive comes with no DVD-ROM suite of drivers or software to put on your computer so should need to update the drive you can but I think it is online anyway. It's great drive none the less plays DVDs quiet well and rips CDs real fast! If you need a nice media drive the stop here this the one.

I have only used this device once. It was easy to install on my laptop and did not have compatibility issues with Windows 10. Be advised that the unit is silver plastic, not metal, which I was really wanting. Anyway, I got it on sale because I don't think it is worth it at full price. It does have a nice, slim profile. This optical drive is my first LG product, so I am hoping that it holds up.

My wife wanted a CD player so she could watch movies on her IMAC, this one came in with a low price and it works like a charm. It is compact, low profile and easy to install. it is external and nothing more than plug it in and you are watching movies. Also plays music cd's with no problems

The unit was easy to set up and worked on both my PC and Mac computers. I was searching for a Player that would work for both and this one exceeded my expectations. Its small and light which make it easy to carry along when traveling. Its also a very good looking piece of equipment.

My desktop recently bit the dust and, because it was either a motherboard or processor issue, I figured I needed to get another desktop. Of course, the one I chose, which is a gaming system from Best Buy, didn't have a built-in DVD drive (I'm assuming because most gamers are going the streaming route since I'm obviously not a gamer). So, I looked around and chose the LG External drive. Why? Well, for one, the price was excellent (and, with quite a bit off using my Rewards points, even more so). This model uses a UBS 3.0, which is also nice, given that my new system has a couple of conveniently located 3.0 slots for speedy transfers. The drive setup was quite fast and included some software that has come in handy. So, I'd recommend this to anyone who needs an external drive.

We were a bit surprised to learn that internal disk drives are a thing of the past with Apple computers. But we needed one for burning photos and our salesperson recommended this LG line drive. It was compatible, easy to install and use, is slim and compact, and matches perfectly with our new iMac compute!

This drive was a great choice for my needs. I just bought a laptop that doesn't have an optical drive and this drive is the perfect solution. It's very thin and light, it fits nicely in a pocket in my laptop bag. It's also really fast and silent.

The internal burner with my wife's MacBook Pro failed and we didn't want to spend the money to replace it. Instead, we found this burner ... Mac-compatible, good price (on sale) and all it was needed was to plug it in and it worked. Very pleased.

I needed a disk drive for my daughters laptop because it's one that didn't come with a drive. At first it was difficult to load the driver onto her computer but I think it was more the computer than the driver. When I got it loaded it worked like a champ!! Just plug it into the USB port, slide a disk in and BOOM, working!! And it's so lite and compact it will be easy to take along on trips if we want to watch DVD's. I was also able to get all our old CD's ripped into iTunes and put on both her and my phones. Had I known how easy and affordable this was I'd have bought it a long time ago!!! Can't wait to try and burn a picture disk!

Keep it in my drawer until I need it. Works just fine after a years use/storage - no issues with it since. Works with a brand new computer as well (if youre assembling your own) without needing drivers. So if you are needing to install a windows cd on a computer without an OS - this will work for that. You can watch and rip movies as well. I havnt tried burning anything though, its a bit redundant with $3 16gb usb's everywhere. The cable is really short though, and it uses usb-usb B mini which was never popular for anything (but this i guess) so you would have to be a new cable if you wanted more length.
