The internal burner with my wife's MacBook Pro failed and we didn't want to spend the money to replace it. Instead, we found this burner ... Mac-compatible, good price (on sale) and all it was needed was to plug it in and it worked. Very pleased.

I needed a disk drive for my daughters laptop because it's one that didn't come with a drive. At first it was difficult to load the driver onto her computer but I think it was more the computer than the driver. When I got it loaded it worked like a champ!! Just plug it into the USB port, slide a disk in and BOOM, working!! And it's so lite and compact it will be easy to take along on trips if we want to watch DVD's. I was also able to get all our old CD's ripped into iTunes and put on both her and my phones. Had I known how easy and affordable this was I'd have bought it a long time ago!!! Can't wait to try and burn a picture disk!

When I needed to buy a new laptop, the ones that had n internal CD ROM drive were all so outrageously expensive. So instead I bought a laptop without one. Before long, I came to regret that since I could no longer add music to my iTunes library without one. I still like to own CDs. Ultimately I decided on this purchase of the LG external drive, and I am very satisfied with it. It is also small and sleek looking, so it looks nice on my desk. When not in use, I just tuck it away.

This was a good buy and better yet because Best Buy matched another vendor's price. Compared to the previous, lower-cost DVD drive I purchased, this one has a solid build and is smooth and quiet in operation. It is also compact and light, fits in my computer bag easily.

Keep it in my drawer until I need it. Works just fine after a years use/storage - no issues with it since. Works with a brand new computer as well (if youre assembling your own) without needing drivers. So if you are needing to install a windows cd on a computer without an OS - this will work for that. You can watch and rip movies as well. I havnt tried burning anything though, its a bit redundant with $3 16gb usb's everywhere. The cable is really short though, and it uses usb-usb B mini which was never popular for anything (but this i guess) so you would have to be a new cable if you wanted more length.

This LG ext drive is a dream to intall - super light - may be used on both iOS and PC platforms - same day pick up not availabe - but it came in 2 days. Very pleased with BestBuy during this shutdown crisis.

Compact! Light weight! Easy to use! This is a great alternative for those of us whose laptops no longer have a CD drive. This is a great little gadget and it works so well! Highly recommended!

I am using this drive with my Lenovo laptop and it has performed flawlessly since its first connection. Takes up very little space, easy to move and organize and is also very quiet. This product is well built and sturdy. LG did a good job with this one!!!

I own an apple mac mini and this works perfectly with it. Looks great, performs flawlessly and hooks up so easy. Recommend.

This unit is very easy to use. It is a plug and play unit. It is very quiet when running. No issues inserting/ejecting discs. First disc I put in was from 2006 with photos on it. They came up in a few seconds, and I was able to transfer some easily to my Mac. I could not have been happier since I had not seen contents of the disc for 17 years.

I purchased this for a friend who has arthritis issues and has trouble getting a disk onto the laptop style. DVD drives that are mostly available now. This drive was much easier for them as all they have to do is push the disk into the open hole like you would a cars CD player. Performance wise. It has been on par with any other small form factor. DVD drive I have used. Would definitely recommend for those with dexterity issues and have trouble with standard slim drives.

I needed an external drive to install some programs that didn't have software downloads available (yeah, it still happens) and this was the best out of the bunch at Best Buy. Its sleek, quiet, and is perfect for my use.

This is an awesome cd-r drive. It is easy to set up and use, and the price is great. I got this to use with a MacBook Air and it works great at the fraction of the cost of the Apple cd-r drive.

I bought this to put my cds on a new Mac. The reviews were all good so I bought it. It is an excellent piece of equipment. It connects easily, looks good along side the Mac, and does what is expected. Can't ask for more.
