I have very good luck with LG products in the past. I decided to buy this product because its portable, does not take a lot of space and the price was reasonable.

Perfect for newer laptop without CD/DVD drive. Works as expected, lightweight and slim.

Great value and specs. Performs great, looks great too. Plug and play for Mac is a big plus.

Bought this to look at my old DVD's that were filled with files from different items .... we have 100's of them .... the computer we bought didn't have a DVD drive on it so had to get this External one ...it works perfectly and does what is needed for a good price .

An added feature that I wish was part of the laptop, but it allows you to enjoy a light weight and slim laptop with the ability to add it when desired.

This DVD/CD drive works fairly well, but it is noisy. I haven't had any issues with it playing a DVD or a CD. I haven't tried writing to it yet, so I don't know how well that works.

I had to return the first lg drive that I bought. The sales associate that was helping me gave me the wrong information and the one that I bought was for installing inside a tower. Best Buy accepted the return with no hassle. This external lg drive was the one I ended up buying. It works great , quiet and compact with no issues. I am now a happy camper.

With none of our computers having a DVD drive anymore we needed to pick one up to view old archived files and cds we receive with files on them. Was very simple to setup with a Windows 10 machine. My only complaint is it's a little loud while spinning to access the DVD contents but works just fine and our computer is off to the side of our desk. You will need a usb extender though if you don't plan to hook it up right next to the computer.

This plug and play drive works perfectly with my imac. No problems connecting, reading discs, or burning to a disc. Highly recommend and is cheaper than the Apple drive. The silver finish matches the imac as well.

This was my first purchase of an external DVD/CD unit for a computer. I am very happy with this unit, it works flawlessly, and the software which makes operation very easy. Highly recommended, certainly worth the price. Also, appreciated info on the Best Buy website and sales staff at the store.

Great slim line CD/DVD reader writer for the money. It works very much like the Apple slim line device. Just plug it into a powered USB outlet on your Mac and you’re off and running, at least with a Mac. I have not used it with a Windows PC yet, but don’t envision any problems. Try it you’ll like it!

Works great. No setup or problems. It is quiet and fast. I have just used it to install a program on a laptop.

I had 3 external laptop optical drives that I was using to re-rip my 800+ CD collection and having 1 more drive made a huge difference. Fast, low-power, reliable and worked like a champ after being placed into a high-use environment. I have 2 other LG drives and I've been happy with them. This was on sale at the right time and at the right price.

I recently bought an iMac and a MacBook and bought the DVD to use with both of them. Everything went flawlessly. It was just “plug and play” with both computers. It is small and thin. The look is a little cheap but it was much cheaper than the Apple drive. It won’t be used that much but it’s there when I need it. Tucked underneath the monitor, it is hardly noticeable. It reads and writes files and video. No fuss, no muss, no problems whatsoever. Just wat I needed.

Works fine just what I needed works well with my MacBook does everything I needed it to do at a very good price would recommend to anyone who needs one to check it out

I bought this LG optical drive because my new desktop computer doesn’t have one internally and I still have music and movies on disk. It is also handy for loading software on to a new computer. This drive is plug and play, very light weight and easy to use—once you determine where the disk goes in.

A perfect product. Swap easily between my Mac and Dell laptops. Works almost silently. Lightweight. Looks good. Suits me just fine.
