Owned for 9 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.in response to people talking about the 2 USB setup you can also plug this in to a USB 3.0 or 3.1 (The Blue ports) and that will supply the power needed to run this drive without having to plug in both or using a usb hub or extender I have talked to a tech and have been told that a usb 3 port puts out the same power as 2x usb 2 ports if you don't want to have to worry about the other plug buy a usb micro-b to usb -A cord

Great DVD player for the price.

After I purchased this product and took it home to hook up to my Dell Laptop, it worked great. I was glad I chose to purchase this product.

External Blu-ray Player Writer

Only trouble is finding software to play the movies. Neither Leawo or the one enclosed worked for us, sadly. Updated, followed directions = garbage. But the Disc Rewriter does work very well. Using it with VLC media player.

Solid, dependable and relatively quiet.

I like that there is only one cord for both power and data, even though it needs 2 USB ports to get the power. I bought it over a different model because it has a drawer mechanism instead of a top cover, in case I want to stack another on it some day.

great external drive

My new laptop does not have a disc drive. I know everything is digital and streamed and/or downloaded these days, but I still watch my old physical dvds and blu ray discs. So this is my solution. A USB powered external disc drive.
