    I remember the days of an external CD-ROM on an Apple LCII from 1992. Having an EXTERNAL Blu-Ray is less of a headache when it comes to laptop repairs. It works as well as an internal Blu-Ray. The hardware is also compatible with Windows XP with USB 2.0. I may test it out some day. Some of you may still be running a Windows XP system online or offline.

    External Blu-ray DVD RW works as advertised. It requires a computer or laptop with a powered USB port + another USB data port. Great if you don't have plug in AC power available. Not so good if your computer does not support powered USB ports or doesn't have more than one Type A port.

    Installation process was a little annoying but nothing complicated. Make sure to pay attention to what you are clicking or you might install some items you do not need or want. Item works as intended. Have had zero issues. Movies play smoothly. Worth the price in my opinion.
