This device works excellent and i have zero complaints. As for the teo USB ports, this is not uncommon for external peripherals that consume additional current and if your ports are not close enough, easy to work around. As optical media is being phased out, fewer models of these are being made. Highly recommended.

Needed this drive to backup data and works flawlessly with no software needed to function properly. The computer detected the drive and it was running in seconds. Highly recommended!

Smaller than a deck of cards it seems to work fine. Didn’t run the onboard software. It certainly runs faster on the new USB ports than it did on the old computer when I run back-up. Probably wise to buy a drive with ore capacity

I just started using the external disc drive & it was fairly easy to set up & use. The only thing I'm having trouble with is the window that pops up to use the disc drive is so small I can barely read it. I'm sure there's something in settings I did wrong, or need to do to fix it! Otherwise, it's fast & works great! I burned 10 DVD's, filled to capacity, in just a couple hours. That seems slow to some, but remember I filled the DVD to capacity with videos! It would have taken a couple days with my old laptop & it's built-in disc burner! I also read that this burner can connect to my TV with the USB & play Blu-Ray & DVD videos through my TV! Haven't tried it yet, but will be trying it out soon!! Plus, I love the sleek, slim design & the sound it makes when it starts!

This is a very compact unit that seems to burn CDs DVDs and Blu-ray well. I like the fact that it runs off the USB port and does not require A separate charging source. it's small size makes it very portable and easy to set up.

Worked flawlessly right out of the box. Got an instant workout copying all of my movies and music to my Plex Media Server which is the whole reason I purchased it. Would definitely recommend

This is a very fine and very fast portable external CD/DVD/Blu-ray Read/Write drive. I am extremely pleased with its compact size, speed and ability, and I highly recommend it.

So this bluray player was being a little difficult to use because of the power it need from the usb outlet. It needs a stable 5 volts 2 amps in order for the bluray player to work so i had to use a samsung fast charger power brick from my note 9 connected to the included cable with the two USB type A connectors. One of those usb type A plugs goes connected to your computer and the other needs to be used for power i recommend a external power adapter. Plug it in and see of it works, if you get the unit disconnecting and reconnecting then swap the usb type cables and that should do the trick. Another issue i had with this player was the software. It was very confusing to use the correct one because instead of it coming with 1 software to simply play your bluray or dvd movies on your laptop or in my case a windows 10 PC it came with many that were completely useless for this unit. I decided to return it because it was wasnt as easy yo use and i would occasionally get the unit to restart it self randomly and repeatedly even after fixing the power issue, i even had a bluray dist get stuck for about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to safely get the disc drive to open and once i finally did thats where i drew the line and packed it up and sent it back. I had this unit for a while and reached out to LG about the issues and never got any support. I went woth LG because i own 2 of their OLED 4k tvs and love them and figured if they can make such an amazing TV then their bluray players must be built in the same quality manner. I was wrong.

Decent price, seems reliable and fast. Ran some movies on it in a test, and it seemed to work well this far. It does take 2 USB ports to give it enough power. Not a huge issue for me, but could be a pain for some.

Very good Blu Ray Player. Never understood what the difference between normal DVD and Blu Ray was. Had to do a few steps to get it to actually work but the youtube videos will be major help to watching Blu Ray Disks and setting it up if you watch your videos on a laptop/computer. Definitely better than spending hundreds of extra dollars elsewhere for a product that will pretty much do the same thing.

I have not used the DVR/R feature I mainly use it to play Blue Rays, it does that fine. I have a curved Samsung monitor and the quality is fantastic. The Samsung also provides good sound. This player is compact runs on power from the computer and as never failed to load or eject.

In my job, I'm dealing with reading and creating media through DVD's or CD's, and this is perfect for that. It works on both PC or Mac and can read/write Blu Ray and DVDs and is as simple as plug and play.

I bought this when it was on sale. My main reason for getting it was to import my music CDs into my computer, and it sure did so in a fairly quick way! I have yet to actually install the software via the install cd it came with in order to watch Blu-ray Discs on my computer so can’t say any good/bad in that regards. Should be able to watch regular DVDs with no issue. Since it is portable device the slimness and how “cheap” it feels seems understandable. Great for desktops, don’t know about taking it with you along with a laptop.

small, compact, light weight, easy to use. Provides almost all codec extensions except .flv as near as I can figure. I have not yet tried writing to a disc yet, but eventually I'll get to it.

True plug and play for Mac users. It was set up and running on my system in minutes. It's also really small and quiet.

Outstanding performance and very compact. The only caveat is that it requires 2 usb connections for power and communication. I purchased a 7 port usb hub with 2 powered usb connections. My lap top had only 2 usb ports, so that was a great investment.

Exactly as described, this is a great item that I cannot recommend more. I had an external DVDRW, but needed something that could deal with blu-rays. For the price hands down this is the item to get.

I have had many variations of Blu Ray players. From Consoles to Blu Ray players and finally this External Blu Ray drive for PC. I love this variation the most. Yeah, it takes up 2 USB ports but that makes it better. No, outlets have been taken up by a Blu Ray player. No, worrying about turning it off separately. This item works exactly as is intended. I would recommend this blue Ray Drive to anyone looking for a sleek clean design that is portable enough to take with you and use on a laptop. It takes up very little space, and that makes it so good.
