small, compact, light weight, easy to use. Provides almost all codec extensions except .flv as near as I can figure. I have not yet tried writing to a disc yet, but eventually I'll get to it.

This drive works like a charm! It was such a a great find.

Outstanding performance and very compact. The only caveat is that it requires 2 usb connections for power and communication. I purchased a 7 port usb hub with 2 powered usb connections. My lap top had only 2 usb ports, so that was a great investment.

Great addition to my laptop. Now I can do additional operations & also watch Blu-ray Movies. Works very well. Just plug into a USB input, install disc & you are ready to go. I had NO Power problems as some had said in other reviews. WORKS GREAT

I have had many variations of Blu Ray players. From Consoles to Blu Ray players and finally this External Blu Ray drive for PC. I love this variation the most. Yeah, it takes up 2 USB ports but that makes it better. No, outlets have been taken up by a Blu Ray player. No, worrying about turning it off separately. This item works exactly as is intended. I would recommend this blue Ray Drive to anyone looking for a sleek clean design that is portable enough to take with you and use on a laptop. It takes up very little space, and that makes it so good.

Needed a quick way to burn some discs on both a Mac and a Win 8.1 platform, saw this (and also had an old BD burner that doesn't work anymore), and decided to bite. No issues with either system and very portable. Very happy...

this little unit is actually surprising. the one drawback is a can be just alittle noisy. the plus is its built sturdy and plays back dvd's well including blu-ray.. does not have to be perfectly flat to playback.

I took a chance on this when my old external optical Blu Ray drive died and I don't regret it. Works great and is a lot nicer than the Amazon special I had from years ago. I did replace the silly double USB cable with a USB-C to USB-Mini cable and it works perfectly. And I don't have to waste two whole USB ports anytime I want to use it. Fantastic!

Better than the Apple USB SuperDrive. Plus is Blu-Ray, not just DVD. Just works! Tested on MS, Apple, and Linux.

This is my second purchase this product has changed the cable is diffferent and the unit is sturdier. It does have a high pitch whine at first. It is great for burning Dual Layer DVD's as well as standard.

Exactly as described, this is a great item that I cannot recommend more. I had an external DVDRW, but needed something that could deal with blu-rays. For the price hands down this is the item to get.

Works great and easy to use! I love being able to have the ability to burn CDs again or just being able to watch DVDs/Blu-Rays on my computer when I want. I've used this to save old VHS tapes onto discs and gave them to family members so they don't lose the footage. Windows Media Player is still a fantastic tool to use when doing this.

The blu ray disc player is plug and play and very easy to install and use. It started right up out of the box with no problems, and is compatible with Windows 10.

LG's website offers outdated firmware and no option to download the software they include on CD for this device. If that media does not work or is lost, you are out of luck. The drive works and does what I need it to do. My one contact with LG support did get a timely response, but it was more generic than specific and did not address the question of how to get the software if the CD was not included or was not readable. As for the software included. When CyberLink software installed, it seems to work, but I had one system where it failed to install.

My computer has ssd only and sometimes it pays to have an external drive just in case. My wife grabbed me one as a gift but it was the size of VHS player. Not very portable! This one does everything the other does at about the size of a cd case! Perfect!

Works great, it's quick and slim. It does not jitter or make much noise but it does make a whirl noise when the disc is getting up to speed. It doesn't get really hot either

Decent drive for those looking for blu-Ray capabilities. Did not yet install the software that comes with it as I was using different software already installed on my computer. But overall it’s a fast drive and runs pretty quiet. Only gripe - which I understand now is common with these sort of drives - is that it has a dual-USB with one needed plugged in for connection and another USB attached to the same end of the cord that also needs plugged in as the power source. So unless you have two USB ports right next to each other it’s not going to be possible to plug in both. Also a little pricey since blu-rays have been a household name so to speak for several years now.
