Since I am not tech literate, my inability to use this machine well may be my lack of ability. Directions were difficult for me, buffering is a problem periodically, and I still have not figured out how to play blue-rays. It only plays DVD's on my MacBook Pro. Thought I would take it back except I have several DVD's that I can enjoy using it.

Rarely used these days, I still found it convenient to have around for some installations and playing the older movies that didn't come with digital copies.

This was purchased to play CD's primarily and it does that as well as Blue Ray discs. Connected and enumerated on USB first time and every time and the player software sees it and runs great.

Got this product because of no disc drive for Mac, but over time I have it to no be useful. Otherwise good product that works and does what it needs to.

This drive was bought for a hp envy 13t. I could have bought on-line but the store salesman was helpful, knowlegable, and not pushy. I therefore did not mind spending a little extra.

The new mobile devices like Surface or Mac do not come with optical drives and in many cases we still need them for legacy content. This is a great option for a Reader/Writer

Works perfect as an external CD drive for my Dell all-in-one. I wish the power cord was a little longer, but in general I've had tremendous success with it.

We had just purchased a new laptop which did not have a DVD drive. We use the laptop in the car for movies for the kids. This works great for this purpose.

Good quality Didnt mention you need a high grade intel CPU for ultra blu ray movies but works fine

1. some minor issues - slowness, tried to erase and rewrite DVD but it didnt work since it was written with DVD writer, so I had to erase it first with DVD writer and then blu-ray writer worked to write DVD (with issues). 2. as of now I haven't tried writing any blu-ray (its been a week). 3. reading Blu-ray is just fine. 4. for the price of a product, the quality is ok.

I have used this to install programs and it has performed flawlessly. I look forward to using it to watch movies and play games.

It’s a player that I can use on the go when it’s required. Most media is online these days, so use when needed

Didn't work on my computer, because it doesn't use an ad dc adapter. Make sure your computer can support.

It's too bad that computers don't come with CD/DVD players anymore, but this is a great alternative. Amazing picture from Blu-Ray and regular DVDs.

This item was purchased to review files that we cold not get to play on any other media. We were able to complete a project by purchasing it and it worked well for us.

This is my second LG external CD read/write unit. I used my first one so much that I literally wore it out. I had such good use of it that I wanted to get another LG unit to replace it.

After making 1080 movies for my customers, I was ready to take my production to the next level. A huge differenc;, my 4K video cameras show a lot more detail when I watch the movies.

With most laptops and some desktops coming without CD / DVD / BLU-RAY drives, this make a perfect addition. I have not burned any BLU-RAYs with it yet, but have used it more than once to play them.
