Bought this for my son for Christmas for his computer. He is very happy with it. He is glad that it is external instead of in his computer. This way he can use it to connect to his TV also. Also will play DVD.

Works fine. Only issue that I found is that internal components can spin so fast when writing on a disk that the whole device slides around on surface.

With computer manufacturers forgoing optical drives in lieu of higher performance components, this drive is a great alternative.

My laptop did not have a drive, but with this I can watch anything or load programs on the computer. With the media program, it's become very useful.

This drive will read and write every format. Period. No pauses or delays that I sometimes get from other external drives. After a number of external drives in the past, this is the best one ever.

I bought this as an ad-on to my 12 year-old son's laptop. He loves it! On trips, he no longer has to bring both his laptop and a DVD player. Very convenient.

This drive stopped playing blu rays 4 1/2 months after I bought it. Took it in to Geek Squad and was told the problem was the software, not the drive itself, but I reinstalled the original software and tried other software to no avail. Rating it 3 stars because it still plays DVDs fine. But I wish I knew how to fix this.

The DVD platter is a bit flimsy. Probably would break fairly easily. But it works well. Not impressed with the software.

did not realize that laptop came without DVD drives until I purchase one and boy this come in handy.

I got this because my new notebook has no optic drive and this one is great. I only wish it took one usb cord to work instead of 2, but I like the quality of the video.

Works great since no laptops have disc drives. Setup was a little annoying

Since PC's now comes without a Disc drive. This really comes in handy if you wanna watch movies or play music on your PC.
