Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Device requires you to plug in TWO USB 3.0 plugs which are attached to one Y splitter cable that is too short to reach both sides of the laptop. One is for data and the other for power but unless you have a laptop with 2 USB ports right next to each other this won’t work. Since my MacBook Pro has one USB port on each side of the laptop, there is no way to reach both sides with the short cable. Even if the Y cable was split long enough, it would tie up the only 2 USB ports. I understand the power requirements but this is ridiculous design. I returned the drive.

Significant care must be taken when inserting a disc or it will not read properly and may even damage the disc. The only thing preventing a 1 star review is that it does actually work once you get a feel for how to install a disc.

I ran the software which crashed my HP with i7 processor anew 64 bit OS. It took 3 hours to get this software off my laptop. Then I read MS left media player off of Win10 OS. Cnet recommended media software to make he player opperate.

The enclosed disc is not supported by Windows 10. It took me quite some time to obtain the proper drivers for use. Currently it is working as a good data drive. It is extremely helpful for those devices without a disc drive. I still can't, however, find the correct driver to get it to play Blu-ray movies.

I was told by the best buy ppl if it didn't work for you to bring it back. I went to return in after few weeks and the store manager (Tukwila,WA) told me that since it is past 15 days they wouldn't return the product. Terrible customer service
