The salesperson sold me this device and said all I had to do is connect it to my computer, download the disc that comes with it and watch movies. It was about 10 days after I bought it that I decided to watch a movie and set up the player. It wouldn't play the disc, I tried over and over........then a couple days later went through the whole process again.....no luck. Either it is for recording only or I need to purchase extra software to make it work......either way it wasn't what the salesperson said it would do. On my day off from work I took it back to Best Buy and they wouldn't refund my money because I was one day late on their return policy. The Best Buy I go to is awful......worst customer service of any store I shop at and I'll never shop at Best Buy again!

I have watched many movies in that time and expected it would last quite some time. But here I am writing a negative review because it died in the middle of a movie marathon. It lived a short life and now I have to go through the misery of attempting to warranty it out. The error VLC spat out indicated a read error that left little doubt as the dvd works flawlessly in my convencional Blu-ray player. Just a heads up, Buyer beware

I’ve purchased an Apple external disc drive with a metal casing that felt sturdier and lasted for years. I was disappointed in this product I hoped to use on my PC that doesn’t have a disc drive built in.

Blu-ray anime disc correctly placed into player - confirmed. Attempted to play Blu-ray anime - failed every time. Player did not recognize the Blu-ray disc, and could not play it. Oh well, $86.00 wasted for nothing. Maybe it only recognizes disks that this player writes? Anyway, it refuses to play anime Blu-ray discs, so this is wasted money as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I can use it as a $86.00 drink coaster?

ERROR ON INSTALL

Laptop now freezes on me. Only installed my usual apps for work. Did not download any other 3rd party software. Really not happy with new laptop. Will be returning it.
