Customers are saying
Customers value the ease of use, Blu-ray functionality, compact size, and compatibility of the 8x External USB 2.0 Blu-ray Disc Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Disc Rewriter. Many appreciate its performance and the affordable price point. However, some users have expressed concerns regarding the included software and the noise level during operation. The positive feedback on ease of use and Blu-ray playback outweighs the negative comments on software and noise.

To be Fair
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played a bluray that was in mint condition and played perfectly on my ps4, I used the same disc in this external bluray player and saw artifacts here and there. I returned the item and decided I will just use my ps4.

It did the job
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The player itself works fine and am happy with it. But the software that comes with it seemed pretty bad. When pausing movie and then playing I always got the message that the disc was unrecognizable

Needs 2 USBs next to eachother
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This drive had potential, but my MacBook doesn't have 2 USBs next to eachother. One supplies power and the other transfers info. Had to return it. I liked the blu-ray option, but don't think it jives well with Mac

Probably a decent Blu-ray player but
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return it because its a 2usb setup. Didn't work out on my MacBook Pro I wanted a Blu-ray disc player for my Mac but did not work out so I just bought a DVD CD writer from Apple and what can I say Apple rules

Wouldn't play Blu Ray discs
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointing. I was unable to get the unit to play Blu Ray discs. The instructions say the unit does need 2 USB connections to play Blu Ray discs. I tried it on two different Windows computers with several discs. One of the computers has an internal Blu Ray disc drive that worked with the same discs. It did play DVDs just fine so I wonder if the one I got was defective. I ended up returning it and did not buy a replacement.

Not for windows 11!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this may play Blu-ray. It won't work with windows 11! This is the second player I've had to return because it didn't meet my requirements! It only plays windows 10 and below!

Lasted 6 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this simply because I wanted a portable Blu-Ray burner. I burned a total of 2 Blu-Ray disc on it in 6 months. When I attempted to burn a third Blu-Ray disc in that time period it simply didn't function at all. Even when attempts to play and burn SD disc the device simply spun the disc and never properly responded. I tried multiple disc that incidentally work fine on other Blu-Ray devices.

Don’t Buy This if you want to play Blu-Ray Discs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed an external DVD player for my new MacBook Pro. Salesperson recommended this LG Blu-Ray Disc player/writer but refused to demonstrate it to me in store. I didn’t have time to try it out till last night when I discovered it plays DVDs but not Blu-Rays. To late for me to return, but don’t make same mistake I did. Just buy Apple external SuperDrive from an Apple store where they demonstrate products before you leave store.

Returned after multiple attempts to operate
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First was the install on my MacPro....a nightmare that required. $9.99 patch which took the Geek Squad to figure out after 2 hours. Second was trying to operate it. 100+ page manual on line but the unit would not operate as described. Spoke to (or should I say emailed overnight) their customer service who offered nothing. I would email a question and they would respond about 2-3 am with a nonesense answer. I finally gave up and returned it to BB....for store credit, couldn't get my money back bc I waited after 15days to get it to work

Not a Good Product
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Piece of garbage. It stopped working a few weeks after it was no longer returnable. I do not recommend. I will be looking for a different brand, if I decide to still have an external blu ray drive for my computer. If not I'll be using the excellent dvd/blu ray/4k player I use with my 4K tv.

Not found by PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased unit about 2 months ago and worked fine. After the latest Windows update my computer won’t find it. Spent hours with tech support uninstalling and reinstalling drivers as well as making edits to the registry with no success. I tried hooking up to my work laptop and that won’t recognize it either, so may be faulty unit. The player powers up and acts like it’s reading the disk, the computer just won’t find it. Worked great for the first month, now it’s just a paper weight.

Plays dvd ok, but won't play bluray disc
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The software it came with cannot play blu ray discs and alot of ads bloatware Any blu ray disc I put in says file corrupted and cannot play. They want you to buy and pay for a software from powerdvd that can play blu ray at an expensive rate. Dvd works. If you plan to use it to play blu ray disc look something else. This unit is usb 2.0 and not 3.0 and usb cable is a little too short.

Would not work with BR disc
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would not work with BR disc but did write to a DVD SL disc and a CD-R. Also, a strange thing happened when I tried to transfer files from my tablet to my desktop PC. The set of files I wrote from my tablet did not show up on the desktop DVD drive. I then wrote some files from my PC to the disc, and they did not show up on the tablet. When I put the disc in the machine I wrote them on, those files were still there. Visa versa, ditto. I guess I'll just use it for non-Blu-ray copying. As for Blu-ray, I just gave up on it.

After trying 10 different know good blu-ray discs, the problem persisted. Updated software, deleted and re-installed software, contacted cyberlink customer support. All failed.
