Small compact, USB powered. Very portable device. Must have for laptops without one.

I still use a lot of CD-ROM, DVD's, blue rays, this works well on all media and is fast reading and writing. It is noisy, so if that is an issue for you be aware. I think others have noted the noise as well. You do have to install software, but it was included on a CDROM. It was not "plug and play".

I like that it's very compact. It downloaded fine and plays blu-rays and dvds on my Dell windows 7 laptop but unable yet to get it to play bluray on my hp windows 10 home computer. Still need to call manufacturer and see if there's another update that will allow the bluray to play on the hp. Only plays dvds.

Works great, small and easy to use. As alot of laptops don't offer a drive. This is a plus.

I had to return the product because the project that I had intended for it was not working out for reasons that had nothing to do with the reader. You should definitely get this product, though. It works fast and is incredibly silent. You will need 2 available side-by-side USB Ports 2.0 or 3.0 work fine.

LG Blu Ray works great its portable its easy to use works well with new laptop

Initially brought one for my laptop so I could watch Blu Ray's on it when I was away from home, then decided to get a second for the old laptop by my bed as I prefer DVDs to Television (dislike the adverts ) they are excellent and the program they install on your computers works great with my existing downloaded films form windows 7 on up to 10 mine gets knocked about in the laptop case as it's in an 18 wheeler and has never failed once.

Used this LG Blu-ray recorder with Verbatim BD-R DL (double layer 50GB) discs to backup my pictures, music and documents on my desktop computer. I used verify after burning and there were no errors. I also randomly viewed files to make sure they were accessible. The included software was difficult to use so I used a 2015 version of Nero Express. This worked perfectly.

My laptop didn't come with a DVR drive, this is a great bluray/DVDs player. Easy to use and light for travel.

So far it works well! Sits on top of my computer with a non-slip cushion, it doesn't move around.

The LG - 8x External USB 2.0 Blu-ray / DVD±RW/CD-RW Disc Rewriter is a incredible piece of technology. Make sure you actually need the Blu-ray feature; it's a little pricey if you need only a DVD player, although very good value if you enjoy Blue-ray. Easy way to upgrade an older system and extend the life of your device.

Compact small size. Works great. Easy to set up and use. Would purchas again if needed.

Really good item easy to Set up and works really well

Bought it to watch Blueray movies on my HP Spectre. Does great but sometimes not smooth when the movie scene pans (probably more due to buffer in dvd player software). But the USB connector/port (not cable) on DVD player is solid but will eventually break if you leave the cable plugged into the dvd player while carrying/packing when traveling.

Works great. It's very convenient to use. It hooks up easy and is very portable.
