I was shopping for a mid-priced DVD player I could take with me on a lengthy road trip. The salesman at Best suggested this item which could handle DVD, BluRay DVDs and CDs - all at a reasonable price. I bought one and have been happy with it. I've only played standard DVDs on it but they work fine.

So far, this unit has been excellent for watching blu-ray movies but customers should know that you need software to actually play the disc and I would recommend powerDVD if you can afford it.

If you need to create a DVD with more than 4 GB of space, this is the only way to go. It was easy, plug-and-play. The drive is solid, responsive and reliable. I have used is several times without issue. Remember to get DL (Dual Layer) discs to go with it for up to 8.5 GB of storage space.

I purchased a new computer knowing he had no DVD burner player as part of it because it was a lot thinner and lighter which is what I wanted. I bought this so I was able to make up my own DVDs or CDs to give to friends or just to back up information and pictures and videos. I’ve been totally pleased with the results. It’s nice and small and portable fits into the bag woodchuck carry my laptop in and I’m happy .

I accidently broke my cd rom drive in my computer and I bought the most expensive external drive they had assuming I was getting the best.. have not been disappointed thus far. I can download music, watch DVDs and Blu Ray and can even read MRI scans

My son needed a blueray player for his laptop. This item is perfect. It plays bluerays on his Lenovo.

This thing does what it is supposed to do. It rips CDs very quickly. The bluerays take a little bit longer but the quality is decent. I would recommend this to anyone looking to digitize their collection of CDs or movies.

I´ll be honest. I do not like South Korean technology and LG is not an exception. However, I really needed a Blu Ray burner and it would take a while to get a Buffalo one via online. And at the stores, they only have LG models. It is good, slim; small and portable but my guess is that a bulky Japanese brand would be quicker.

This Drive was a must have. With most "off the shelf" desktop and laptop computers today, you only get one drive. Sometimes none. I bought this drive because, my PC only had one DVD burner and no expansion bays. So this was the perfect solution for me. The only thing that I wish this drive could do is be REGION FREE!

Seems to work well in both reading and writing. Speed seems pretty good to considering it's only a USB 2 drive. I will echo others when they say that you need to make sure to plug in both USB plugs into your PC to make sure it gets enough power. Seems to work with most software too.
