unit is small fast and burns disk with little effort. great investment

This Drive was a must have. With most "off the shelf" desktop and laptop computers today, you only get one drive. Sometimes none. I bought this drive because, my PC only had one DVD burner and no expansion bays. So this was the perfect solution for me. The only thing that I wish this drive could do is be REGION FREE!

Seems to work well in both reading and writing. Speed seems pretty good to considering it's only a USB 2 drive. I will echo others when they say that you need to make sure to plug in both USB plugs into your PC to make sure it gets enough power. Seems to work with most software too.

It's a good Blu-Ray player, the roughly 2ft/60cm cord does need 2 USB ports to plug into though but that shouldn't be a problem for most people. I recommend getting VLC media player which is free online, if you own any DVDs purchased from outside your region, I'm not sure if it works for Blu-Rays since I don't own any from outside my region.

Optical disk drives aren’t included with computers any more, which was really a pain for me when I upgraded. My solution was this external drive. It connects through the USB port, doesn’t take up much space, and works great!

I haven’t had this for very long, but it has been very helpful with my MacBook Pro. I wish it had a usb type c connection. Had to buy a dongle. Wish Apple had a port for this as well so I didn’t have to get a dongle. Oh well that’s technology for you. But it does what it is supposed to do and worked right out of the box. If you need a cd or blu-ray player this will work well for you.

I bought this blu-ray drive so I could convert blu-ray discs (using special software) for viewing on my tablet. I've only used it once, so far, but it seemed to work fine hooked up to my laptop. I like that it gets its power from a USB cable, too, so there's less jockeying for electrical outlets.

Works great on my MacPro for burning 50GB dual layer Blu-Ray discs, but note it requires two open USB ports. The included dual USB cable is pretty short, and the construction is kind of flimsy, but considering the price and performance it's not a deal breaker .

Been using this disc drive to back up by bluray/dvd collection and it has worked great! Only 1 disc out of about 100 so far didn't fully read.

This blue ray is simple to set up on pc, and plug n play on Mac. Thin and portable just like I needed.

Reads blu-ray discs as it should. Can run with only one of the USB plugs if its a powered USB3 port so can be used on things like laptops easily if ports are limited. FYI, on PCs you have to have software that can actually play blu-ray movies, so don't expect to just be able to watch blu-rays on your PC by just plugging it in. No idea if this is an issue on other operating systems because I don't have them.

Allows my laptop to play amazing blu-ray movies which is extremely important when streaming speeds are not available. Plug it in, insert a disk and voila incredible entertainment.

I needed this to burn a couple of DVDs and BluRays for a client. It worked out great! I downloaded the software online as the disk that came with the packaging was for PC computers, and I use Apple iMac. Would definitely recommend if you need for burning disks or if you need to own something portable if your computer doesn’t have a disk tray.

Works fine with Windows 10. Meets all the expectations that I had with this DVD/ blue ray writer.
