This product did read the discs a lot quieter than I anticipated. For the price it is well worth the purchase. I mainly used it to read my bluray discs for the VUDU disc-to-digital program they offer. Overall, I'd recommend this unit.

Bought 2 to start with first one tried was bad, no computer we had would recognize it. This was Linux, Mac and windows machines. Other one worked as advertised. Traded in the bad one and so far the next one has worked great.

This device is okay. However, the software for the Blu-Ray function is clunky. The manufacturer wants to sell you better software for a price. As of yet, I have not tried to record on a CD/DVD. I do not plan on using this device very often.

The best external DVD±RW/CD-RW Disc Rewriter that I have ever owned! (I have owned 2 different DVD±RW/CD-RW Disc Rewriters.)Granted, both Disc Rewriters are very good products! Very happy that I now have the added option of watching my blu-ray discs with such clarity on my PC ! Highly recommend to anyone in the market for an external optical drive!

This product made me nervous when we unboxed it but has worked fine so far. Sounds and feels cheap but does the job. I didn't care fir the software it came with as some of the nicer features for burning dvds you have to pay and upgrade to the better version. But for basic use it's fine.

This blue ray device is cool and works great works for everything I need

I've owned 4 of these, one at a time. Best Buy has cheerfully replaced each of them. I got the extended warranty, which I normally never buy, but I recommend it for this. #1 lasted 11 months, then would no longer write DVDs. #2 lasted 9 months, then would no longer read DVDs. #3 was bad out of the box: extremely noisy because the motor was unbalanced. It would read some disks, but not others. I exchanged it the next day. #4 has worked perfectly so far. I'd rate the product lower because of reliability, but if you want a bluRay player, this is really your only choice. And it's an amazing product when it works. I use the included software for BluRay disks, and VLC to play DVDs.

Grabbed this because my current laptop has no built in Blu-ray, and I have dozens of movies on Blu-ray. As advertised, it was plug n' play. Was watching movies within minutes of getting it out of the box. Have not yet had occasion to write any discs with it, so I can't comment on that part.

Great for travel. Plays DVD's, Blu Ray's and music discs

I purchased a new laptop and needed to purchase a drive because new laptops are doing away with internal DVD drives. Loaded included software, connected it without issue. I have played DVD's a BlueRay disk. Everything played fine. At this time I have not burned any disk with it yet. Keep in mind that this unit requires to be plugged into two USB ports!

I recently bought a new computer, and needed to be able to view records that were presented to me on disk. I also wanted to be able to watch blue ray movies since sometimes the movies I want to watch aren't available on Netflix or Hulu when I want to watch them. Worked for me.

This is ideal for those for you who still have blu-ray discs but no laptops with a built-in player. It is very compact, comes with player software, and very easy to install. Note: The player requires 2 USB ports (one to power it and the other to transfer the video data). It works with USB 2.0 and 3.0.

This drive works with my HP laptop computer with windows 11. It comes with media suite for Blu-ray by CyberLink. That installed and updated the software. It all just works, what more could you ask for.

It made sense for me to buy this because my HDTV is connected to my computer too. I was surprised by the quality of Blue-Rays this drive proved awesome no buffering just pure performance all in all! My DVD player software said plays DVDs so I thought I'd give it a try.
