Unit is performing as expected. Small and relatively quiet.

Since no laptops include a DVD drive anymore, this is a must have if you want to watch movies on your laptop. My old computer had a built in drive so I definitely needed this. It's nice that it plays blu-ray too. The included software seems to work well so far.

Great Blu-ray DVD writer. Very smooth in writing on disc. Easy to set up.

The sound quality is excellent and the unit exceeded my expectations. It is super easy to connect and use. Great product as I would like to truly thank the Best Buy Associate that made the suggestion instead of the one I almost purchased for the same price.

Needed a drive for my new iMac. The Apple Superdrive was not highly rated by reviewers and the price was about $20 more than equivalent drives. I have used this drive to record CDs, upload content and data. The Apple DVD player app does not support the player as a Blu-Ray player, so not sure if that works (apparently there is an app for that.) Have not tried to record onto a BD or M-Disc. The noise is reasonable, but not as "silent" as the package might make you believe. Is not a problem to me. The other negative is that the connector requires 2 of my USB ports. I think one of the two is in lieu of a power adaptor (none is required or supplied.)

I bought this to use with my Macbook Air. It works beautifully. Got have to buy a separate operating platform to run the videos bc the player is only that. A player. I bought Blu-ray Player Pro. I got the highest one bc it said on the site that the others might not run every type of format. Its a one time buy.

My old Samsung tablet just wore out from daily use for over 5 years. It never gave me a problem in all that time. Transferring my files and apps to the new device was very simple and easy. The Galaxy Tab S6 is very intuitive to operate and I love the increased storage over my old one.

Reads and writes on blu-ray disks, exactly as specified. Bought to replace an internal blu-ray RW drive in a tower computer that went defunct a few years ago. Accesses the disks I had backed files up on.

This is a great product. Hooks right up to my lap top so my granddaughter and I can watch dvds anywhere

You expect a Blue-ray player to play Blue-ray movies on it. I got it to play movies on my laptop. And you know what? It freek''n works like you would expect. Nothing more - nothing less. Perfect.

Since laptops no longer come with disc drives, it becomes necessary to buy an external drive to transfer my favorite movies and music I had on CD into digital files. This drive has worked flawlessly, required minimal setup and has performed without problems. I recommend not keeping it plugged in but only connecting it when needed.

As soon as you plug it into the port of your MacBook Pro it is recognized. I used it to install Dragon Dictate. It looks like you need to buy an application to be able to watch Blu-Ray movies, but I haven't tried it yet. It is super light so you can take it with you wherever you go.

Fast and quiet Cd ROM drive for my newest in-home computer, which is not equipped with a built-in. As it is has USB connection interfaces, it provides me with the ability to transfer data from old my older burned CDs that I am now able to transfer data to my new system.

The LG external drive is easy to use and plays DVDs and Blueray.

It's nice to have an optical drive again. Modern laptops just don't seem to come with them, and the case for my desktop doesn't even have a slot for an externally accessed drive. It was worth throwing the extra money to get Bluray as well as DVD burning and access.

this meets our needs with hobby of recording oldies, watching our dvd collection, and we can record with this as well. In all excellent for working with our surface book 3. It does make noise while playing but it is not inside anything to reduce noise and we knew this before hand while doing research on product.

I bought a new MacBook Air for Xmas and it doesn't come with a CD/DVD drive. I need a drive to install some software, and this one was on sale. I have only written a CD with it so I can't attest to writing to other media. I've watched both BluRay and DVD movies with it without issue.

These days, no decent laptop has CD/DVD drives anymore. This one fills that gap, and helps use the many CDs at home on those laptops, as well as helps burn photo and movie CDs/BluRays through those laptops. Self power (through 2nd USB connector) is also convenient (although I realize why some may not like it...).
