This burner was easy to install and setup. It is pretty light weight which makes it portable with a laptop. The write speeds are reasonable, but I don't write DVD's that often. I have not had any issues using the discs burned from this device in other readers.

This external player is very portable and plays either Blu-ray or DVD disks, and will read/write DVD disks. The only drawback I can see is that it takes up two USB slots on the computer, but because it draws its power from the USB, it doesn't need an external power supply.

I basically just wanted an external disc drive, and this serves. You have to download a program to play Blu-ray; at least I wasn’t able to access Blu-ray through VLC, but the disc provided gives you that program, and I can run DVDs on this drive through VLC.

Been using this disc drive to back up by bluray/dvd collection and it has worked great! Only 1 disc out of about 100 so far didn't fully read.

So far it works well! Sits on top of my computer with a non-slip cushion, it doesn't move around.

It works okay but it constantly asks me to get the newest upgrades for a monthly payment. Yikes!

Works Great For Watching Movies On My Desktop. Just A Little Loud At Times but Works For My Intended Purpose

Great blu-ray player for my laptop that does not have a built in optical drive. For a moment I thought i was not going to work because it has a special cable that has 2 USB A connection but I only needed to plug in one and it work great.

We bought this to give my daughter the opportunity to watch Blu-ray on her computer. We didn't do all our homework because she needs to upgrade her video card to utilize it. But, no issue with the device at all. It's gonna be great when she can afford the upgrade!

Perfection. Does it all. Reliable. Easy to use. My new standard for everything. Nothing more is needed.

I haven't actually used the product for writing Blu Ray DVDs yet the only thing I have done was use it to watch Blu Ray on my computer. I tend to use it to turn my old home videos from when I was a kid into Blu rays I just haven't had the time yet.

I have a computer that the blu-ray went out on it. So instead of getting another internal, i picked this up at a good price and it has been great! Small and compact, making it good for space saving. I have never had an issue with my disks either.

I actually bought this to rip my PS3 game disks. Worked perfectly. The only downside is that it cannot play 4k blu-rays if you are into that. Everything else worked great with VLC.

Bought this for a brand new iMac. The Mac SuperDrive had too many bad reviews for me. The set up went very smoothly there was not any problems, it works and does everything it's supposed to do. The speed is acceptable I would have purchased the upgrade model but it was not in stock. With all things considered I am happy with the purchase.

I bought this because my computer does not have a disc drive. It has been a great purchase. The bluray component works well. As a tip make sure your computer is fully charged or is plugged in while you are using this. It tends to draw a lot of battery.

Works great. With most laptops these days not having a built in DVD drive its sometimes handy to still be able to have a drive you can connect. So long as you are buying a drive why not go ahead and get one that supports Blu-ray as well.

Not a 5 stars because of how visibly fragile this thing is. I feel like going to snap it and break it every single time I put a disc in because I have fat fingers and well 1 day I'm going to break the thing just by putting a disc in. I should be able to open a disc drive and be greeted with a sturdy structure. Not a disc tray a gentle breeze could snap in half.
