With most laptops these days not having a built in DVD drive its sometimes handy to still be able to have a drive you can connect. So long as you are buying a drive why not go ahead and get one that supports Blu-ray as well.

Now they are so old they are not standard on pc. Haven't used the write function so the 5 stars are for the ease of use and setup of the reader only.

Very good spinner

The set up went very smoothly there was not any problems, it works and does everything it's supposed to do. The speed is acceptable I would have purchased the upgrade model but it was not in stock. With all things considered I am happy with the purchase.

The bluray component works well. As a tip make sure your computer is fully charged or is plugged in while you are using this. It tends to draw a lot of battery.

Easy add of full CD/DVD capabilities to my PC

The istallation worked the first time, the instructions were intiuitive, and evrythiung worked the first time. Highly recommended.

good for what I need

Not sure if that is my computers fault or this rewriter but either way the thing works great otherwise.
